I’ve looked for an answer and can’t seem to find one … Can a hardened Linux repository be used by more than on VEEAM server? I’ve tried it an it is working I wondered if there are any limitations or concerns to be worried about? For example both servers running backups at the same time? I can see based on directory naming I will need to be careful with job names that they are unique. Thanks for your time … 

Hi there, is it possible to have two mounts on the same hardware for a hardened repository?For example, mount-1 on an SSD-Raid for the latest 14 days of backups and mount-2 with an HDD-Raid for 3 months or something like this?Maybe both of them are presented by a Scale-out-backup-repo? Is this a good and solid option?Our customer want to have very fast restore or instant restore performace within the latest backups (SSDs) but also want an option to have several months immutable (HDDs) - but as mentioned on the same hardware. He has already some other repositories, also on different site, so this should only be an extension for immutablity.Thanks and best regardsMarkus

Hi all,I have 2 Backup Servers (Veeam B&R v11) running independently from each other with 2 licenses (16 Sockets CPU and 24 Sockets CPU). My goal is that both Backup Servers can backup from disk -> disk(HPE StorgeOne 5200) -> Tape (HPE MSL 3040). I have some questions as follows:- Is it possible to add 1 Window Server (Use it as Tape Server) to 2 Veeam Backup Server?- Can use 2 Window Server (Use it as Tape Server) to manage 1 Tape Library (HPE MSL 3040)? If so, what needs to be done?- Is it possible to add 2 licenses to 1 Backup Server to increase the number of CPU Sockets to 40?Thanks

Dear Friends, I faced a strange issue today when I try to delete and recreate coredns pods for my k8s cluster. After that I am not able to access my kasten k 10 dashboard. I see this on front page. Access to mykasten.com was deniedYou don't have authorization to view this page.HTTP ERROR 403I have tried ingress load balancer and node port as well. I saw similar question and I have tried all the options mentioned there. I upgraded to latest Kasten and I also remove resources limit. Hello!I am trying to play with restoring one Hyper-V VM onto another Hyper-V server just to know what to expect in the future.So I created the Backup job which backed up this VM to the Backup repository which in turn resides in the shared folder of the second Hyper-V physical machine, i.e. is the part of the second server.After back up is done (very fast!)  I started Restore job of the Entire VM, and it fails. I tried all possible scenarios : restore entire VM, immediate restore with the following migration, I tried even importing this backup and restoring VM from imported file - ALL FAILED with the same symptoms: restoration starts very optimistically and energetically, going to the point of 45-46 GB of vhdx restoration, stops, nothing seems to be happening, only process timer shows it is still alive and ticking, and this frozen state continues for 5 to 8 hours just to get this ChannelError: ConnectionReset. Thank you!

Der Versuch, ein System mit “Bare Metal Restore” (Backup liegt auf SMB-Freigabe) wiederherzustellen, schlägt nach fehl:System ist von USB gestartet und Log-Files sind leider nicht vorhanden.Wie kann ich weiter suchen … möglichst ohne jedesmal eine Stunde warten zu müssen.

Cannot auto-update from 5.0.3.4708 because the digital signature of the downloaded update file is invalid!This is happening on three personal computers at two different locations.I had to download the update from the website and manually update.Not a big deal but what is up the the auto-update utility?  

 I had M365 backups working flawlessly and then needed to switch repositories. Somewhere in there, something broke. So I ended up removing the repo, removing Veeam M365 backup, cleaning up all app residue and re-installing from scratch, since this was a new, small instance and I just wanted it to be clean.Now, every time I try to run a backup against the same recreated Org, the job will connect to the org, start resolving the objects, it finds the objects to backup but never actually receives any data. Shortly thereafter (30 seconds or so), the proxy service crashes and the portal shows status “disconnected” and Details “Job was interrupted”.I have even tried putting it on a different VM and the same behavior persists. The only element that I haven’t recreated is the O365 implementation. I have also recreated the Azure apps/certs each time as well.The logs don’t seem to show much. Below is the end of the latest log as well as the console view and some event logs. I am kind of at a loss

I have installed k10 in a vCluster environment which has k3s as k8s distribution.k8s version: 1.23.5+k3s1kasten version: 6.0.1When I run the policy for backing up the namespace. Hallo zusammen, da ich erst neu beim Thema Veeam bin, wollte ich gleich mal eine Frage in dieses Forum einbringen: Ich wollte gerne mit 1 Server + 3 PCs die Version „Community Edition“ einsetzen.Der Server orchestriert alles.Eine erste Sicherung des Servers + der PCs hat auch schon funktioniert, aber wie kann ich mit Wechselmedien arbeiten?Wöchentlich sollen die getauscht werden. Es wurde ein 2tes Repository angelegt für die 2te ext. Backup HDD, war das richtig oder eher nicht?Oder braucht es nur 1 Repository wo einfach die Platten gewechselt werden?Ich habe gelesen, dass die 2 Sicherungsmedien (ext. Hi Veeam Community!We are looking to migrate our backups from a standard repository to an SOBR in order to utilise Wasabi storage for capacity tier. We current have backups jobs storing to local storage repository with 30 day retention, with copy jobs to a another backup repository at one of our other sites for offsite/archival backup purposes. Local repository is around 30TB and ‘offsite/archive’ repository is around 100TB. Ideally we would like to move the primary repository to performance tier of an SOBR and remote repository to capacity tier. Is this a supported migration, or will the backup copy job part cause us issues? Ideally we would prefer not to have to create new jobs, and maintain backup history. We are running B&R V12. Any insight or tips on how to achieve the above would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!Cameron

We are looking to install Enterprise Manager and was wondering where the best place was to install it.  We have one VBR server with less than 100 instances to backup.  I have a Server setup for Orchestrator, can I put it on the same Server, or should I stand up a new separate one?

Hi Everyone, I wanted to re-visit this. Does Kasten backup Longhorn without any issues now? I tried a while back and Longhorn there were problems even though I thought way back when I had been able to do this. I saw some other folks had issues as well.  I am going to try again on the weekend but just wanted to see if any instructions or “solved” cases were out there before I do.Thanks 

hi My client is a member of tkgm's guest cluster.want to do backup and recovery. I want to migrate from Cluster A to Cluster B. When performing a backupThe VMware CSI driver does not support Volumesnapshot because the current host version is 7.0.3. Therefore, the VMware infra profile is registered, and snapshots and exports are performed through the VADP api. When recovering exported data to another cluster   like the picture belowWhen the message occurs, the pvc recovery fails. I understand that the generic volume shown in the capture means the general volume. Why does this message occur? Is it because it is restored like a sidecar method rather than using VADP.api when performing restoration?      I would like to know the exact backup recovery logic for VMware tanzu.

I have a 5-instance Veeam license. The only tool I use is the “Veem Agent for Windows”. I have a 6th computer that isn’t used very often and I backup infrequently - once every couple of months. I have been using the “Veem Agent for Windows” free edition for that. Lately there’s a notice about a new version available - I’m currently using a v5 version. When I try to download the new version, I always get a message about the download being “corrupt”. So I went looking for the download, and can’t find anything for the “Veem Agent for Windows” anymore. Has this been renamed? 

Hi FolksDoes anybody have an idea of how many api calls a VBR → Tape Server → AWS Tape Storage Gateway Appliance might create when sitting idle, i.e. not actually performing jobs? I only ask since I was watching the setup and see Veeam periodically doing rescans and so was wondering if those will result in charges.

Hello!I have the question about VM restoration from just *.vbk file stored in the USB stick.Let say I did the Server 1 Hyper-V VM backup and it is stored in the Server 1 Veeam registered repository. Then I copy these two files on to USB flash and go to another remote location with Server 2 Hyper-V and plugin this flash into USB port.I did not find the answer on this problem anywhere, cause it is not just copied files, it is the full bootable backup. My impression is that VM could be restored only from the repository, not from any folder or even any shared folder. But even if I copy my files from USB to Server 2 Veeam registered repository nothing happens because probably Veeam sees only backups associated with processed jobs. Sorry if I am not clear, but it is really hard to explain. I worked before with Acronis, now moved to Veeam as  a much better product, but many things are unclear. Thanks!
