Performing Backup JobsVeeam Backup for Microsoft Entra ID supports two types of backup jobs: Tenant backup jobs that protect tenant data — users, groups, administrative units, roles and applications. Log jobs that protect tenant audit and sign-in logs.  Launch New Microsoft Entra ID Tenant Backup Job Wizard To create a Microsoft Entra ID tenant backup job, do one of the following: Open the Home view. On the ribbon, click Backup Job > Microsoft Entra ID > Tenant. Open the Home view. In the inventory pane, right-click Jobs and select Backup > Microsoft Entra ID > Tenant.  

Configuring Log and Cache RepositoriesTo protect Microsoft Entra ID tenant data and logs, you require the following repositories:Cache repository that stores temporary cache files for log processing. Primary log backup repository. [Optional] Secondary log backup repository that stores copies of log backups. By default, the backup server can perform the roles of cache and primary log backup repositories.You can also configure other types of repositories to keep data in another location. Performing Backup JobsTo perform backup of Salesforce organizations, Veeam Backup for Salesforce runs backup policies. A backup policy is a collection of settings that define the way backup operations are performed: what data to back up, where to store backups, when to start the backup process, and so on. Launch Add Backup Policy Wizard  To launch the Add Backup Policy wizard, do the following: Navigate to the Backup tab. If you have added multiple companies to Veeam Backup for Salesforce, select a company to which the Salesforce organization whose data you want to protect belongs. To do that, select the company from the drop-down list at the top of the page.

Deployment of Veeam Backup for SalesforceVeeam Backup for Salesforce can be installed on a virtual or physical machine with one of the following operating systems: RedHat Linux Oracle Linux AlmaLinux Rocky Linux Ubuntu 20.04 (24.04.x LTS supported experimentally)  It is recommended that you create databases that will be used to protect production and sandbox Salesforce organizations on dedicated PostgreSQL servers. However, if you plan to install PostgreSQL locally on the management server, you must take into consideration all the CPU and RAM requirements specified for the management server,

Organization Object TypesWhen setting up backup jobs with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, you can define object types and customize their processing and exclusion options according to your needs.
