Hey Community, I received a few messages from community members asking how to get notifications when there is a new content published (in this case we talked about “Blogs and Podcasts” category). I thought I would do a quick post about it. First, there is a possibility to subscribe to every category at Community Hub Let’s say, you would like to subscribe to “Blogs and Podcasts” category. To do so, you have to push ‘SUBSCRIBE’ button at the right side as shown at the screenshot below: Once it’s done - you will start receiving notifications about new topics created!Again, you can get subscribed to any category: whether it’s Discussion boards or News. The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency. - Bill Gates Do you have to do that (tedious) task every day? Do you have to deploy Veeam environments quite often? Don't want to do clickety click every time you need to create a new job? Want to reduce the possibility of "Human error"? Step in to the Automation Desk! These are just examples of topics that you could find or ask for at our Desk. Within the Automation Desk, you can ask and share anything Automation. As long as it is Veeam Related. Not sure? Ask one of the leaders. You can find them on the right side of the groupWhat can you add / do in the Automation Desk?Ask any Automation question Create (blog) posts related to automation or share news Join special events Share your thoughts, ideas, struggles etc. Automate!
The Korner is a place where you can start your Kubernetes Journey.Veeam understood correctly that a huge group of IT specialists will need to get familiar with Kubernetes at an accelerate time frame because the demand for specialists will grow exponentially. However, this is much easier said than done given the fact that many people are working a full-time job and perhaps still believe that they have not yet achieved enough expertise in existing technologies that they are working with. The Kubernetes Korner will help everyone overcome these difficulties and learn together. What can you do at the Kubernetes Korner? Do the daily Kube Task, a brief Kubernetes task in an environment that we help you setup Ask any question you may have Create posts. Watch out for special events and meetings that are Cloud Native related Think of any ideas for the Kube Korner, this is your Korner too! We are all on this learning path together and our joint efforts will result in everyone’s common success!!
Hello,I would like to check with you guys if this performance is solid.I first created everything with WAN Accelerators that are physical machines with SSD, one for source and one for target side but it caused some problems and its not so convenient for me.Now I configured everything with Direct mode and I would like to see if this is a solid performance or not.Our connection on both locations are 1Gbps, around 750-850 Mbps upload/download speed. So this is from Primary Office to Secondary Office via VPN, 2 different countries.I have 3 BCJ, 1 is for 2 biggest VMs, and others are smaller ones.So the biggest VM is now left, all of the others are done but the Processing Rate is not so much to be honest, no other processes are running in the background.
This is more of a Linux question, but it’s for use with Veeam, so thought I’d try posting here to see if anyone else ran into my issue & what was done to resolve it. I am having the darndest time getting a Volume from my storage array (Nimble) to partition correctly in Ubuntu 22.04 so I can use it as a Veeam Repository. Using fdisk to partition, it seems to work, but then I get the following error after ‘writing’ the task:fdisk errorI reboot, then go to attempt to install a filesystem on the partition, and get the following error:filesystem busyAnything I attempt to do with it, the OS says it’s busy. I’ve spent hrs internet-searching to no avail. About the only thing I believe it stems from is the multipath daemon somehow. Do people just have 1 HBA connected to their arrays for Repos?...surely not?Umm..help? 😂
I’m missing something simple here I thnk…all of my backups are unencrypted and I want to encrypt them, I set one to do that, stored the key in VEEAM and of course offsite too, but how do I know it’s working? I tried a guest file restore from that backup, picked a file, it restored fine, but nowhere did VEEAM asked me to provide the password.. I assume this is because it knows it, but that doesn’t make me feel comfortable with the process. I suppose the test could be to install backup & replication on another computer and try the restore from there? a bit of work though so I’m thinking there’s an easier way or am I worrying about nothing?
I am confused (not an unusual occurrence ...). I have a LTO-7 tape library, with 3 tape drives. Right now, I have 9 tape jobs listed as running (we ran out of tapes this weekend, so I just loaded more). But only 2 tape drives have tapes loaded and are writing, the 3rd is idle. And I’m not sure why … there are empty tapes in the pool for the jobs (all jobs use the same pool), as well as FREE tapes in the FREE pool.So why is my drive idle? I don’t see any option that seems to say “Use only 2 of the 3 drives in the library at any one time”. I must be missing something here, but I can’t figure out what. It’s not an option for the individual tape jobs, right? I have those set to use at most 2 drives. I assumed that meant just for that one tape job, not for all jobs that are executing. So why isn’t Veeam loading a tape in that 3rd drive, and starting to clear my backlog? What have I done wrong? Thanks.
I have a situation to change the Veeam secondary old repository to Linux Hardened repository, Below are the details; I have installed RHEL in DR Server I need some guidelines in Scrips to configure the Linux Hardened Repository (RHEL 9.2)Moving the backup from old repository to new one without any impact
Hi, sorry for the noob question, but when backing up VM’s on Hyper-V, what is the difference between backing up the VM’s via Virtual Infrastructure vs. backing up the disk the VM files are stored on via Physical Infrastructure? Is it just on recovery, it’s easier to restore the VM’s directly vs. having to restore each of the VM files such as the vhdx files? Thanks!
Good morning guys,I recently noticed that some of our M365 backup jobs (various tenants and various backup VMs) always complete with warnings. We are having this problem for about a week or so. The messages always look like this:Failed to backup item: /personal/testuser_testdomain_com/Documents/Todo.one, Download request retry timeout exceeded. Has anybody of you noticed similar problems when trying to backup OneNote-Files? Thank you very much best regardsyanni4iwx
Hi, I am testing Backup and Replication Community Edition and have a very simple test environment consisting of a single Windows Server 2022 with one boot SSD, two HDD’s and a third HDD which is my dedicated Backup Repository. When I start the job, it take over an hour before it will begin to process/transfer data. Is this normal or is stuck waiting for something before it can start the backup? The server really has no load on it as it is a test machine (physical, not virtual). Below is a screenshot: Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you!
A much awaited feature request is coming to Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV 5.1. This will require Veeam Backup and Replication 12.1. It is the ability to scan backups with SureBackup. This will not be the full blown version like the vSphere edition with Data Labs capabilities but it is a good start. The need to protect your restore points from malware and ransomware attacks it a must. Customers can no longer wait for an infection to happen. As you see in the headlines when attacks happen, these could have already been dormant in the company for some time. I heard this time and time again. It just takes one time for a bad actor to be successful but you have to be correct one hundred percent of the time. SureBackup allows for scanning backups utilizing your antivirus software or Yara rules. If you search google this is what you will find as a definition for Yara - Yet Another Ridiculous Acronym. Veeam Data Platform 12.1 will bring radical resilience to assist in a time of need. If you are

This is a reproducible BSOD caused by a veeam software driverI know this is strange, but, so far, this happens on two machines in my home lab.1. windows 11 laptop - running VAgent - 22.214.171.12402. windows server 2022 - running VBR - 126.96.36.1990 P20230718Every time I plugged in my Kindle into the USB port, Windows does a BSODTo be honest, I am very dependent on my Kindle. My old model died, just got the new one and every time I plug it in, my machine hard crashes with BSOD, on every machine I have at home. What does the .sys file do, Is there a way to disable that .sys driver, is there a temporary workaround, anything? Please Help, David
Hey everyone,I posted a while ago that my V12 install is only reading 107gb of my 12tb tapes, I have 29 tapes loaded and 2 drives I have worked with support on both my Tape drive manufacturer side (Spectra Logic) and I have worked with VEEAM support on this for nearly 3 months and it seems that we have all come to the conclusion fo microsoft not seeing the correct driver. I use the IBM driver as VEEAM specified and it fails to see the tapes fully, I use the “Microsoft Medium Changer” driver Spectra told me to use and it still fails to see everything - we have done all sorts of troubleshooting (removed the ISCSI checkbox, installed and uninstalled drivers, disabled the device, uninstalled the device, updated VEEAM, updated Windows) and so so much more. Looking for any other advice on what else to try or where to turn from here? Windows 2022 (latest updates applied)VEEAM V12 (Frist update applied, not 12.1)IBM drivers installedWindows medium changer driver installedLTO8 Tapes Thanks gu
Hi Everyone, I am planning on moving my blog. What seemed like a great deal at the time has turned into an expensive auto-renewal at the worst possible time. Luckily I changed my CC so .. 😁 no auto delete $$ this year. What are the alternatives? What do people pay? What is the best method to download my present blog content? Any help would be appreciated.
