HelloIm looking for an openshift backup solution and would like to have details about kind of objects can be backed up with Veeam\Kasten.I guess that backup of Deployments, DeploymentConfigs, StatefulSets and VMs is a “must” so what about ability to restore, if necessary, a simple secret, service-account… Can we do that?Another topic, it is possible to create a SLA selecting as source of data an specific project? Where can I find out detailed product features?Best Regards

Hi all, last week I deployed a new storage array.  I’ve migrated all production VM’s as well as replica’s that resided on the datastores, except for CDP replica’s.  I cannot for the life of me figure out how to migrate the CDP replica’s and update the CDP policy to point to the new datastores. Storage vMotion inexplicably gets cancelled by a user later on - assuming that’s VBR even though I currently have the policy disabled.  That said, I can’t modify the specified datastore below as well - all is disabled.  I thought I might clone the policy, but it looks like CDP policies can’t be cloned like backup and copy jobs - not a big deal but also caught me off-guard.So am I missing something, or do I need to recreate the policy and restart replication from scratch?

I just don’t manage to get eMail Alerts up and running. I set the alert and the Connection Setup to Microsoft O365 with classic connection. When sending Test email I receive Error: G6HH: Notification channel configuration is invalid, please verify your settings.Trace Id: 293b541a6b68e109Can anybody help me with this error msg?ThanksRainer

if I have a backup job with GFS, and then the job is saved in a backup copy job, will the GPS backup also be taken over or do I also have to set GFS in the backup copy job?

Hi all, we have a physical server DL380 Gen10 with ubuntu LTS that use for Veeam immutable backup. we want to expand the existing repository RAID with anther 9 disks.do we need to break the existing RAID or it’s possible in ubuntu to expand the existing without break?Thanks

HI guys,I am using Veeam Community edition 12 in my home environment. Thinking about getting Wasabi bucket with immutable space. Found that Veeam is supporting Wasabi as from this article https://knowledgebase.wasabi.com/hc/en-us/articles/11914197710747 . Is support included for Wasabi in Community Edition? How will Backup work? In my case my servers are at home on a proxmox host. My home and a remote data center is connected via wireguard. In that data center I have a linux machine which I want to back up to Wasabi ( currently pulled to local repository at home) . How does the data flow? Directly from datacenters Linux server to wasabi, or first down to my veeam server at home? Thanks

Hello, Last night our backup job took much longer then normal Looking through the job history I saw one user with 51GB of data processed. This is very much out of the norm for him. I asked the user if they had done anything or added any folders and they are not aware of anything.My questions is, where or how can i see a log of the files processed, or even a compare feature from last nights backup to 2 days ago. I am just not able to find an easy way to see what was the 51GB that was processed.

Veeam has recently been upgraded from 11a to v12. Post upgrade we cant get into the web interface for Veeam ONE. Client app works….I’ve checked IIS, local logs etc, cant see anything….anyone seen this?

Hallo Zusammen, wir haben für unsere internen Dienste einen kleinen Mail-Server installiert, welcher seine SSL/TLS Zertifikat via Lets-Encrypt bezieht. Auch Veeam B&R versendet darüber seine Benachrichtigungen, wenn man dem “untrusted certificate” vertraut. Da sich die Zertifikate bekanntlich alle 3 Monate erneuern, ist die Fehlermeldung natürlich nicht so gut.Kennt das Problem jemand und wie wurde es gelöst? Vielen Danke

Hi, I created new jobs to organize Exchange groups and Teams groups since my company was previosly configured to backup the whole organization, Now that the backup is set up and backing up for about a month is time to disable the original job, if I disable and delete the job, would that release the previously used licenses for any aditional user that is not on the new jobs ? Thanks in advance.

after the update to v12 there are legacy copy jobs, can i leave them as they are or should i update them and how?

Hi VEEAMers! Finishing deployment of our VEEAM environment with Virtual Lab/Surebackups and found built-in check are pretty basic and pretty much only checking if VM is listening on particular port after restore. It definitely helps to make sure the serve is not corrupted and functional but not giving any validation against if it was hit by ransomeware or not. What does (from my point of view) is if where will be built-in checks if particular file (most commonlt encrypted by ransomeware, VEEAM probably knows better - but I’d do .doc, .pdf, .7z, etc ) can be successfully open. Any improvements in that area in upcoming 12.1?Or maybe I am wrong and someone can point me out to the fact it has been already done and I just don’t know how to do it?Cheers,Alex. 

Hello,Feature request for ‘Veeam Backup and Replication’ client. When viewing/selecting an active job provide the option to ‘Follow’ most recent activity. This is helpful if you have a job active with many objects in the job from a visibility perspective.Currently, if you have a job with 20 objects being backed up and you select an object in progress, when the object completes the viewed object stays displayed instead of following to the subsequent active object being backed up.  Thanks 

Hello Everybody, I am new to Kasten K10 and trying to understand the snapshot retention. Below is one of the policies I’ve created.It takes daily backup of a K8s application.I need help understanding what exactly does 31 daily, 10 weekly, 12 monthly and 7 yearly snapshots retention mean.And this is what I see when I get into the restore points:And what should the settings be to retain backups/snapshots of last 1 month (30 or 31 days), and one snapshot per month for the last one year. So, for example today’s date is Oct 2nd, so daily snapshots from Sep 2nd till today and 1 monthly snapshot from Sep 2022 till Sep 2023. This is just an example, I know it depends on the snapshots Kasten has already taken. But, I want to achieve this.

Tenho um repositório Veeam Linux e que armazena vários backups em uma mesma pasta exemplo: /veeam/backupNão consigo sequer realizar uma cópia dos arquivos que estão armazenados neste repositório para outro diretório durante um período pois a imutabilidade por 14 dias está ativada.Quero configurar à partir do meu servidor VBR um job do tipo "File to Tape" que rode semanalmente enviando para fita só os arquivos dos últimos 7 dias que estão no repositório citado. Qual a forma mais automatizada para realizar esta tarefa?

Has anyone found a better way or backing up a Raspberry PI to a veeam repository other than using a script to dd the entire SDCard to a SMB/CIFS share and then backing that up?
