One of my VBR use rental license and i’m not understand about the calulcation.Total I have 25 endpoint backup by VBR, 1 is windows agent, 21 is hyper-v, 3 is vmware where i split into 2 job.The qty of my rent license is 275.In the license information we can see I have 22 VMs and total used point is 242 (22 * 11).  In the license report the qty used is 242 and in the bottom of report sya this report is not include 2 new VM. My question is :Totally i have 25 endpoint, but wht the license only counted for 22 endpoints? What is +33 in the license information? And why in the license instance only showing 23 endpoints? Why the windows agent showing 0 likely this not consume the license? in the license report why not included 2 new VM? Is there any delay? 

Currently i already backup virtual machine under Azure Local / Azure HCI environment.Now i have plan to upgrade the Azure Local host and to mitigate if the upgrade failed i want to restore from the backup.So anyone know here how we can make backup for azure local host itself? Since the OS is using Azure Stack HCI

Hi everyone,I’m using the Veeam community edition to backup some data to WORM tapes (I have an HP Ultrium LTO-4 1840 tape drive with HP LTO-4 WORM tapes). Unfortunately, I’m getting the following error when the backup job starts: “There is an old MTF block on tape. Cannot write a new one” after which the job fails before backing up any data.  The WORM tapes are all brand new/sealed, so are completely blank and the write-protect toggle/switch on the tapes are all set to off. I created a WORM Media Pool and selected ‘Do not create, always continue using current media set’ for the Media Set.On first-time insertion, the tapes were inventoried and added to the WORM media pool (Veeam successfully recognizes the tapes as WORM capable) so all looks good.However I’ve tried 3 brand new tapes so far and they’ve all failed with the same error above, although the same backup job works perfectly on normal RW tapes, so I’m not sure if I need to do anything extra in Veeam to get WORM tapes working?I’v

Hello guys, I’m using the Calculator on a daily basis, and am pretty sure the calculation is wrong (or maybe I’m?? :D) when you consider Immutable GFS Backups to Object or local storage.If you backup Immutable the Calculator will ask for a immutability Period, this in fact does not matter when using GFS as always one Full Backup will be kept for the configured GFS Retention.Or at least as far as I’m aware.Heres my test:Lets say we have 16TB of source Data, this is the immutability with 14 days and gfs.​​​​​​ As far as I understood it, 16TB is round about the source capacity, of course we will shrink it a bit thanks to compression.Lets say a full backup will then be 10TB which seems surreal already. And lets now turn gfs off in the calculator.Now we only have 14 Dailies immutable but we are missing another 11 Full Backups as stated, GFS will always take full backups. Am i doing something wrong? Is the calculator not able to predict this scenario? 

Hi all,we have a customer with an Openshift Cluster and a Netapp storage for volumes.The goal is to use a Veeam Hardened Repository for volume export, but the storage class is using a “ontap-nas” backend, and the block mode is not supported.Do I have to use a new storage class with “ontap-san” backend and reconfigure all applications or is there another way?Thank youMarco S.

I have many customers where we store data with GFS points on the backup copy page.For example, primary repo 14 days, secondary 30 days + 6 monthly. Now, this is not a problem in the Sizer for VMs.However, if I have NAS backups, only the days apply here, but the monthly backups are completely omitted because NAS does not support GFS. There should be a message in the Sizer or an automatic conversion of the workloads to days (6 months x 30 days = 180 days).Otherwise, if you are not careful, the entire sizing may be incorrect.

We are facing an issue with VBR where the application is down and cannot connect to the backup server. The error message shown is: “No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1. Make sure the backup server you are connecting with is 12.3.2 version.” Has anyone encountered this issue before? What steps or permanent solution can resolve this? Any guidance would be appreciated.

 Hi everyone,I wanted to raise a question regarding the upgrade process for Veeam Backup for AWS.From my understanding, performing major version upgrades currently requires installing the on-prem Veeam Backup & Replication  — even if only the trial version — just to run the upgrade wizard.This feels counter-intuitive and unnecessary for several reasons: Veeam Backup for AWS is a cloud-native solution, often used in environments that don’t run any on-prem VBR infrastructure. Requiring an on-prem installation introduces extra operational overhead: Deploying a Windows VM Installing and updating VBR Managing firewall rules and connectivity For customers who deliberately chose a fully cloud-based architecture, installing an on-prem VBR instance only for upgrade purposes breaks the expected simplicity of a SaaS-like product. The appliance already updates minor versions internally — so having major upgrades depend on VBR seems inconsistent. Is there a technical limitat

Hi teamPlease excuse my ignorance as I have not done this before and would like your advise.Current VEEAM implementation has AHV proxy configured to back up the environment.A new AHV clusters will be added. My initial uneducated thought assumed to re-use the existing proxy but I think that is actually not possible now. It seems the proxy configuration cannot be altered so I think it leaves me with no choice to create new one. No biggie.Also, I noticed that there is an embedded worker for the cluster configured in the proxy.In general, Would you suggest adding more workers to the new cluster? There are 3 nodesCheers

I hope you can help me with the following problem. When I perform a sure backup (Backup verification mode: Backup content verification  and content scan only), I get the following message in the log: Error: Failed to call RPC function 'FcCheckFilesystemIsAccessible': The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drives are loaded and that the volume is still corrupted. The email notification I receive indicates that the verification was successful. My question is why I'm getting this warning and how can I resolve it? Here are some specifications of our server: Veeam Backup & Replication Build 12.3.2.4156 Backup server runs on a Hyper-v  Hyper-v: Windows Server 2025 24H2 Build 26100.7171Bare metal: Windows Server 2022 21H2 Build 20348.4405 Hopefully you can help me with this. Best regards,  Jordy

I’m unable to run any backups on Veeam Agent for Windows (6.3.1.1074, free edition). While my setup was working previously, I now get the error “Failed to create VSS snapshot” when attempting to run a backup.My destination is an SMB share on a local Debian host. Other devices on my network (In identical configurations, “Entire Computer” and encrypted backups) are able to back up to that share successfully, it’s just this one machine that’s failing.I’ve tried the usual suspects: Restarting the machine, removing/re-adding the backup job. I also tried the steps outlined in this post:Opened an Command Prompt (Run as Administrator)Ran the following commands:net stop vss net start vssYou can also restart these services in services.msc:Volume Shadow Copy Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider Without success. Hi,I’m trying to configure HA on my Veeam Backup Server. Has anyone seen this or ran into a similar issue? I can ping both servers from IP and FQDN. Both have DNS entries. I ran through the pre-requisites of allowing HA to be configured from the Host Management, Now, I’m at a loss ..any ideas?  

Hi there,I’m currently in an greenfield V13.0.1 deployment, based on the Appliance.After enabling Remote Access in the Host Management Console of the VBR system - it’s mentioned, that this will be enabled after Security Officers approval and for 8 hours… We did this yesterday. This morning, 12-14 hours later, it was still enabled.  Unfortunately I didn't checked, if it’s only a visible bug or if the service / or Port 22 is really still open. I will check this tomorrow and give another feedback. If this is the case, I will open a support ticket for it.Have anyone seen the same behaviour? Thanks and best, Markus

When is the deadline for scheduling my Veeam VMCE exam?I understand that I can take the exam until the 31st, but I have a problem. I hope you can make an exception. Let me explain.There are brand ATCs that have their schedules already set (even before the announcement of the end of certification) with some courses scheduled for December 15. In order to schedule my exam, I need to have taken the course. But if I can't schedule the exam after December 1 and I've already signed up for an ATC class on December 15, I won't be able to take the course.They could lift either:the restriction on taking the course to schedule the exam, Or the December 1 deadline for scheduling the exam, considering that some ATCs already had their schedules set and customers already had appointments. 

hello Hi, can you help me please? I have a problem with a SureBackup job in Veeam version 12.3.2.4165. When creating a script, I entered an invalid character, and Veeam let it through, but I can't delete, modify, or disable the job. I've already entered several scripts via PowerShell, but it won't delete the job. Any ideas on how I can delete it?  

Hi Community, Those currently using the Google backup appliance for GCP environment backups, have you recently encountered this type of update behavior? Previously, updates were applied automatically with just one click and also option works Schedule updates through the updater, but now I see an update prompt like in the attached screenshot.  Has anyone performed this update recently? If yes, please share your experience and any best practices.I want to plan this properly and avoid any disruption.

Hi teamI am tasked with implementing new repositories and I have to move backups and backup copy created by AHV. It seems that moving AHV backups is not supported with VEEAM move feature.I wonder what the best options are here and what I need to be aware off?The existing repo are configured to not use per machine-machine backup files.The old repos will be decommissioned once all data has been migratedMuch appreciated 

Hello,this question is about Kasten Kafka backup described in https://docs.kasten.io/latest/kanister/kafka/k8s/install.Is this soulution capable backup AND RESTORE  - message keys/headers/metadata(e.g. partition offset),- consumer offsets?Is there anybody who has practical expirience using this solution or it's modification or any other 'Kasten' solution which would fullfill these demands and if so, could you please direct us where to look for it.Thanks for you answers.
