We remote into the Veeam server to do our choirs, but since we upgraded to 13.1 we have a problem. We can’t use PowerShell 5 since because of the requirements of Veeam. Remoting into the Veeam server using a PowerShell.7 configuration fails with “ParentContainsErrorRecordException: Exception calling "ImportByDll" with "1" argument(s): "Dependency resolution failed for component C:\ProgramFiles\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Console\Veeam.Backup.PowerShell.dll with error code -2147450750. Hello everyone,I updated a VBR console to v13, but after the update, I was unable to connect to the console and received the following message:“Failed to connect to the backup server: Access to the registry key ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\Plugins’ is denied”I noticed that when I launch the console using “Run as administrator,” I can access it without any issues. I checked the Registry Editor, and the permissions are correct. What’s surprising is that I haven’t encountered this error with other customers who have upgraded to v13.I don’t know how to resolve this issue. Do you have any ideas, or have you also experienced this problem? Thanks in advance  Bonjour tout le monde,J'ai passé une console VBR en v13, cependant après cette mise à jour je ne parvenais plus à me connecter à la console avec le message suivant:"Failed to connect to the backup server: Access to the registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\Plugins' is

Hello Everyone,I am currently planning a migration of an existing Veeam Backup & Replication v12 (Windows-based) environment to a new Veeam Backup & Replication v13 Software Appliance deployment and would appreciate guidance from anyone who has completed a similar migration.Migration RequirementsThe objective is to migrate the existing environment while maintaining backup and replication operations with minimal disruption. Key requirements include:Migration of existing backup jobs, backup copy jobs, replication jobs, and related configurations.Migration of backup repositories and historical backup data from the existing repositories to the new repository infrastructure.Migration of Veeam Backup & Replication components, configurations, and associated resources.Maintaining replication operations between the Production (DC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) sites throughout and after the migration.Ensuring backup chains, retention policies, and restore capabilities remain intact.Min

I'm running the latest version of Windows 25H2 version, and Veeam version 13.0.3.1220.  I installed Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows Free version, and created the USB Recovery Media. I then did a test Bare Metal Restore.  I immediately get the error: Authentication failed, see inner exception. If I use old Recovery media created on an different PC, that is running an older Windows version with an older version of Veeam, the restore process works just fine. I don’t get the Authentication error. I found a post on Reddit, where everyone was having this same problem. One poster said he opened a support ticket with Veeam, and they acknowledged the problem. But I can’t find any information on what Veeam is doing about this very significant bug. Does anyone have an update on this bug? Is Veeam planning a fix, and where can I find a timeline? I’m not updating my Veeam version on the older PC, as I don’t want to introduce the bug on that PC. Thank you.

Hi,i am using Community Edition of Backup and Replication.  In special i have been using a script to start Veeam ZIP to get a standalone full Backup. This has been working flawless for quite a while. There has been Issues with Powershell in the past, so i have to start the batch explizit with the “new” powershell version. But this was about a year ago.So i got a running Version of Backup an Replication (13.0.2.29) then i upgraded to 13.1.1.18 and Veeam ZIP stopped working with the following Error Message:  Error: Unable to cast object of type 'Veeam.Backup.Core.CFreeVmBackupTarget' to type 'Veeam.Backup.Core.CVmBackupTarget'.I searched the Internet and have been finding very few users with the same problem. One of them provided two solutions: Revert back to functional version, or contact Support and get a hotfix to makle changes on DLL.i do not want to revert back, because i think this is a greate Problem which has to be adressed by the support generally.I filed a case by the Veeam Supp

What are the prerequisites for using Changed Block Tracking (CBT) with VM backups in Veeam Kasten on OpenShift Virtualization 4.21? How can we validate that CBT is enabled and being used during backup operations? If the CSI driver does not provide native CBT support, is there any workaround that combines the CSI driver with KubeVirt, libvirt, or QEMU modifications or configuration changes to enable incremental backups based on changed blocks?

We are looking to migrate our 10 vm’s, currently on VMware, to Hyper-V. The host has to be stripped down to bare metal before installing the new hypervisor on it. The plan is to spin up a temporary server on a loaner machine, and migrate our critical VMs to the temp server to continue running our operations during the migration. My question is, how does one take a copy of the critical VM’s, and put them on the temp server if the temp server does not have Veeam or VMware? The temp server will have Hyper-V. Thank you.

Is anyone else  waiting for Veeam support for “Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server Support” ? It’s been GA since November 2021 and replaced the Single Server which was retired in March 2025, so it seems a bit surprising there is no support to back it up using Veeam, and my support ticket indicated there is no ETA for this feature !This seems a big gap in Azure PaaS support to me. I’d also be interested in any work arounds people have in place. Thanks, Graham

I enabled EWS via Veeam Data Cloud - and it created a new enterprise that seems to be needed for this task (we did it manually anyway) - but it stays after completion of the task. Can we delete that?BRStephan

Veeam Community Edition how to connect to Nutanix Cluster

I am seeing that there is an error in the image that appears at the bottom of the calculator when immutability is enabled.Veeam documentation referes to:https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/hardened_repository_immutability.html?ver=13#retention Veeam Backup & Replication compares the immutability period of the backup repository and the GFS backup file lifetime, and sets an immutability period for full backup files with GFS retention policy as equal to the longest of these periods. For example: the backup repository immutability period is 10 days; the GFS backup file lifetime is 3 years; the backup file will be immutable for 3 years; the increments from this full backup file will be immutable for 10 days from the moment of the last increment creation. The image is not showing the lock for the GFS RPO

We have a Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager that connects to several Veeam B&R servers at our remote sites and child companies. As we’ve been upgrading to V13, the requirement to use HTTPS to connect to the VBR server is causing endless issues. Most of these sites are smaller, and only have one external IP that’s used for something user-facing, such as client VPN. (You know, because default ports are good for end users that wouldn’t know how to specify them.)V12 used Veeam-specific custom ports that we could forward to the VBR servers and there was no issue whatsoever, but the upgrade to V13 has ruined this. It is necessary to be able to specify a custom port for BEM to collect data from VBR servers. We’re not pointing a web browser at this, and backup software is an ideal place for knowledgeable IT staff to use and document custom ports, or even just a single nonstandard port that Veeam uses by default (like is used to with 9392). I don’t know who decided it was a good idea to use t

Hey, Folks!  Just got my trial license and downloaded the Linux kernel for Veeam Infrastructure ApplianceVersion: 13.1.1.18It finds all of my hard drives and starts the installation process.  After creating a few file structures, it stops and gives me:Dasbus.error.DBusError:Process reported exit cod 5: device-mapper:reload ioctl on (253:0) failure.   Failed to activate new LV datavol/veeamrepo.Thoughts on what might be happening here?  This was a Dell Windows 2025 server with 8 10TB HD’s and 128Gb of RAM. 2 Xeon processors.  Booting and choosing to wipe drives.

I read this post but it doesn’t include any details on how to setup the backup job:Can anyone provide details on how to use Netbird to backup/restore a remote Linux VPS?From the Veeam B&R server, I can ping the Netbird host name and IP of the remote Linux server but I have tried for hours to get it to work. I can’t even get Veeam to install the agent on the remote Linux host.

Hello, I was noticing that the Veeam Ports Calculator is not showing the correct port ranges for SQL restores and the different SQL restores.Same Database location, different database location, instant restore, publishing.Same database restore does require iSCSI connection on port range 3260-3270, this is not showing up in the calculator.

After a failed Veeam backup, a Hyper-V VM (ADCC130HP01) was left with multiple nested Veeam Recovery Checkpoints that cannot be removed.Current situation:4 Recovery Checkpoints are chained together. The oldest Recovery Checkpoint dates back to 06/08/2026. The VM is still running normally. The VM disks currently point to the base VHDX files. Multiple AVHDX files still exist on disk. When attempting to delete the checkpoints from Hyper-V Manager, I receive the following error:"Cannot delete checkpoint: Catastrophic failure (0x8000FFFF). Virtual machine failed to generate VHD tree."When attempting removal via PowerShell, I receive:"Cannot delete a checkpoint subtree that contains a recovery checkpoint."I have already tried:Deleting checkpoints from Hyper-V Manager. Deleting checkpoints using PowerShell. Attempting manual merge operations.Has anyone experienced a similar issue and successfully removed these orphaned/chained Veeam Recovery Checkpoints without rebuilding the VM or risking dat
