Hey guys,I am facing the following problem: a client wishes to change services for copying their backup data. They currently use Azure Blob. They are considering several other services including Wasabi. They would like to recover their annual archives if possible.I know that through Veeam we can use the Move function to move backups, but we have more than 10 TB of data and I'm afraid it will take an enormous amount of time without guaranteeing data integrity. Currently, they don't have immutability enabled on their Azure bucket and wish to activate it on their next bucket.Is it possible to copy only archives without copying everything?

Hello,I noticed something very peculiar. We use the Infrastructure Appliance v13.0.1.1071 for VMware Proxies and hardened repositories. The Backup Server is a Windows box running same version.Every night, we get an eMail saying that check for updates was successful for the Windows Backupserver but failed for all the appliances.When we enable the WebGUI on the appliances and login to their WebGUI’s on port 10433, we go to “Updates” which will say that the last check failed. But when we click on “Check for updates” it works fine. Updates are found, downloaded and installed. All good.So what’s the difference between the automatic daily checks and clicking on “check for updates” on each appliance? We never see the firewall dropping outbound traffic from the appliances around the time the automated daily update checks are done. And the Veeam backup Server (Windows) is the only one, every day, which has no problems checking for updates.The fact that manual checks and patch installs work fine

We are having one VM fail in our surebackup job, which is set at 7200 seconds for maximum allowed boot time. The VM runs twice, once it fails as running at 600 seconds, the second runs at 7200 and is a success. How can this be, 1. VM gets selected twice, and runs at different config in the same job. We are running VBR 12.3.2.4165. Thanks all….

I currently need to migrate my system from VMWare to OLVM, but I can't find an option for instant recovery of a virtual machine from VMWare to OLVM. I also can't find anywhere I can use this feature to recover a virtual machine from one OLVM to another.

Sorry to rant, but I have nowhere else to turn, and it's beginning to impact our clients. Veeam 13 has been absolutely horrible to install on all our backup servers. The upgrades are breaking the installs on current backup servers. It is straight up failing to install and start the Veeam service on a brand new server, and Veeam support has been unable to figure it out for two weeks. I've put escalation requests in and I'm getting nowhere. has anybody seen behaviour like this? The people on the Veeam subreddit agree that Veeam 13 has been horrible to roll out.

Hi ALL,I would like to ask for assistance with the following scenario. I am planning to purchase two StoreOnce systems and use Veeam as the backup software. I plan to use Catalyst and Backup Copy jobs to transfer backup data from StoreOnce #1 to StoreOnce #2.My question is: in this case, assuming that there is already existing backup data on StoreOnce #2, if a new Active Full backup is approximately 100 GB in size, will the data synchronized be the full 100 GB, or will only the changed blocks from StoreOnce #1 be transferred to StoreOnce #2?In other words, will this behave similarly to the replication of two NAS shares on StoreOnce, where only changed blocks are synchronized?”Thank you so much.RgdsHieuht 

While trying to export.BAK file while using Veeam Explorer, it gives the following message what could be the issue. This same error appear by using instant recovery, recovering to the same location and alternate location, in addition to restore DB file to the same location and alternate location. DB Unable to attach database. | Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression. | The statement has been terminated.

I am running into an issue where very large incrementals are being created even when the device is having little usage. On a 1.8 TB drive (1.56 TB used), an incremental of 980 GB and another incremental of 820 GB occurred a few days later in the past week. What could be causing this? I am using veeam agent for windows 13.0.1.1009

I wanted to abandon my bare-metal Windows Server/VBR12 instance because of Microsoft and finally switch to VSA.So I set up and configured a bare-metal test installation of VSA on the server.This server has a direct connection to the HPE MSL 4048 tape library via a SAS controller.Full of anticipation, I then read: "Note that Veeam Software Appliance cannot be used as a tape server." at: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/connecting_tape_devices.html?ver=13Seriously? That's incredibly counterproductive!Now I'm supposed to set up and maintain another server because VSA doesn't have the usual integrated tape server role? veeam one, new build. Was working but the user account needed a password change. I changed and rebooted the veeam one server but services wont start. All say error 1069: the service did not start due to logon failure however the account logs in fineany ideas? thanks

hi,i try to install veeam  agent (i try with multiple version) on windows server 2025 but when i get to the point of installation it fails.on the log i see “ another installation is in progress” but i don’t have nothing in pending.

I understand from our network team, that the SQL agent running on Microsoft SQL 2019 causes the SQL server to lockup or the backups to lockup. Is there a method to configure the backups (data & logs) to prevent that?

Hi thereI have a question around hardened repository. A customer has purchased new hardware to implement a hardened repo and add it to the existing VEEAM setup (latest 12.x).I am trying to determine whether I should suggest to use the VEEAM Hardened ISO. I have downloaded version 2.0.0.8. Or should we stick with using Red Hat and harden that accordingly. My colleagues have done that before and we have the scripts to automate.I am new to the hardened repo game but I would think that using VEEAM iso would be simpler.What are the pro and cons?Also, maybe a silly question but it seems to me that the hardened repo is also built into the V13 virtual appliance ISO. Would it be possible to use v13 hardened repo and connect the repo to a VBR12 setup?Much appreciated.

Hi everyone, I’d like to get some feedback before deploying Veeam v13 in our environment. I’ve been tied up with other projects over the last six months, so I haven’t tested or worked with v13 yet. Our infrastructure is fully virtualized. We currently run two VMs: One VM running Veeam, performing daily jobs to an external Ubuntu hardened repository One physical server running Veeam, backing up everything to its own ReFS-based storage  My questions are: What is the best approach for deploying v13 — on a physical server or a virtual machine? Is it possible to use hardened storage with Veeam on the physical server?  Thanks in advance for the input!

Hi all,We have 4 physical servers debian 13 that we did backup via the veeam linux agent 6.32...before  before.We didn't upgrade our VBR to v13 we are still on version V12.3.2.4165.Is there a way we install manual on the debian server the linux agent v13 and get this servers covered without upgrading to VBR v13any ideas?Thanks,Benny

Hi I had veeam backup 12.3 and it was working a charm however after updating to 13 now i get this errorThis is windows installation on windows 25 server and domain controllers are also windows 2025 I basically upgraded VBR from 12.3 to 13 and it was smooth however now i cannot login although all services are started and running 

Hello all,  I’m preparing a new fresh deployment of the infrastructure for Veeam 13. First I’m installing the database with Postgres 17.7.2 and installing Veeam 13 component after (EM in this case) in a different server. I’d like to know if there is any specific requirement I need to follow as I was not able to find much about this specific case (only the recommended configuration for VBR), I guess it’s the same. I also would like to know if you recommend to separate the WAL in an specific disk separated from the DB disk as this machine is going to handle heavy workloads. Thank you in advance!Eric
