Hi there,I am new to Veeam.  I created and completed my first backup job and I’d like to now remove a specific .vbk file and a specific .vib file from that completed job.  Is this even possible?  I looked into the Remove-VBRBackupFile command  but it seems to relate to “missing” backup files, which is not the case.Thank you!-sul.

I noticed VBR v12 RTM removed the " Install a new instance" selection from the Installation setup with the Microsoft SQL Server.An error message will pop up if the Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server Express does not install locally or remotely.That means I need to install Microsoft SQL or SQL express before installing Veeam Backup and Replication manager server (I knew v12 supports PostgreSQL) if I would like to work with Microsoft SQL? or is it a bug? 

Hi, I'm trying to install lasten in an openshift environment, the pods mostly start but the catalog pod gives me the ImagePullBackOff status, checking the log gives me a timeout on a URL https://pkg-containers.githubsercontent .com/ghcr1/blobs/sha256, in the gateway pod it shows errors, they tell me that it could be because the github.com URL appears in the log, the network and security area tells me that the urls are blocked that contain github in their structure, my question is is there any way to install with another method or alternative, is there a list of the urls that I need to carry out the installation, Regards. 

Hi, Has anyone experienced VBR spinning up huge amounts of instances of a process, and consuming all RPC ports? I suspect it’s AV related due to the customer’s AV change occurring at a similar time, but we’ve got the rules in place to exempt directories and binaries. I’ve seen VBR have port exhaustion exactly once before, that was a VCC installation and the firewall was half-closing sessions and Veeam wasn’t doing a good job detecting this and freeing up ports subsequently. This scenario is different however.VBR server that is only for job orchestration (all backup & repo roles are on physical appliances, proxy & repo roles uninstalled from VBR). Server was up for less than 6 hours yesterday, and it spawned 18,000 threads of VeeamTransportSvc, all looping back to itself. But the server ran out of available ports and/or buffer space and then normal connections such as backup repository availability checks were failing, causing VBR to mark the repositories as offline, then causin

I am wondering if anyone has worked with cmdlets that take a SharedKey parameter in VBR PowerShell, and noticed that some do not take SecureString as a parameter. I’ve identified *-VBRAzureBlobAccount but it seems that Amazon and Google are in a similar situation. However, I’ve also compared to VBO cmdlets, and the equivalent VBOAzureBlobAccount does take SecureString for the SharedKey parameter.By comparison, the *-VBRCredentials cmdlets permit either a clear text string for Password or a PSCredential object (which by the way uses a SecureString for the password). While SecureString has known limitations, it seems a little odd for these *-VBR*Account cmdlets to not use SecureString for the SharedKey. It seems to limit the ability to securely prompt a user running an install script for the key from the cloud storage provider via Read-Host -AsSecureString and have it seamlessly pass to the cmdlets.Is there a way I’m missing? Hi,I would like to know if someone else had a issue after upgrading V11 to V12.The machine itself is also added to a Physical Veeam group who is taking backup of himself.Since the update it mentions that there are communication issues between both (same) servers.I have a case with Veeam, but they do not respond already for 2 days, what is odd.I do not want to investigate myself any longer, just curious if there is a simular case or experience with it with other members. Thank you!

Hello all,I am looking for a "simple" way to generate a notification when a backup or copy job is edited in VBR. The idea at the beginning is just to get an info (mail), not to rate the modification, if it’s a good or bad modification. Examples of bad changes would be reducing retention, changing encryption password, etc.Ideas how to realize this? Native in VBR i think there is nothing, Veeam One? External monitoring? Hi Folks, First off don’t ask 😁 “why do you want to do this” :), I don’t but I have no choice as the customer is going to do this and I can’t convince them otherwise. However, they are asking about consequences :(, So a customer has an M365 multitenant backup. They want to rename the server and give it a new IP. The proxies and repositories will remain the same.They are not leveraging S3 only old style repos and they have no portal my understanding is that there is no database that has recorded the console’s hostname and IP (unlike VBR) so changing the name and IP should not have any affect (only perhaps firewall stuff if they have any rules tied to the old IP).Is this correct? Thanks

Einstellungen her, am besten konfiguriert werden sollte?D.h. es geht um 1 Fileserver + 3 Client ComputerBis jetzt habe ich 2 Backupjobs (Server+PCs) mit jew. 30 Sicherungspunkten eingerichtet.1 x im Monat eine jew. VollsicherungDas ganz läuft mit 2 rotierenden ext. USB Festplatten, die wöchentlich getauscht werden.Soweit so gut, wäre das eine brauchbare Strategie oder gibt es bessere Strategien, die sinnvoll aus der Praxis kommen?Bin wieder für jede Antwort / Vorschlag dankebar!VG Andreas

Hi all, I'm using Veeam B&R v11 and I have 1 Repository (HPE StoreOne) and 1 Tape (HPE MSL 3040). When data is transferred to StoreOne, the process is as follows: Source data -> Backup Proxy Server -> Backup Gateway -> HPE StoreOne.I am confused about how the data is transferred to Tape. From source or from StoreOne? Thanks/Tunglh

I’ve looked for an answer and can’t seem to find one … Can a hardened Linux repository be used by more than on VEEAM server? I’ve tried it an it is working I wondered if there are any limitations or concerns to be worried about? For example both servers running backups at the same time? I can see based on directory naming I will need to be careful with job names that they are unique. Thanks for your time … 

Hi there, is it possible to have two mounts on the same hardware for a hardened repository?For example, mount-1 on an SSD-Raid for the latest 14 days of backups and mount-2 with an HDD-Raid for 3 months or something like this?Maybe both of them are presented by a Scale-out-backup-repo? Is this a good and solid option?Our customer want to have very fast restore or instant restore performace within the latest backups (SSDs) but also want an option to have several months immutable (HDDs) - but as mentioned on the same hardware. He has already some other repositories, also on different site, so this should only be an extension for immutablity.Thanks and best regardsMarkus

Hi all,I have 2 Backup Servers (Veeam B&R v11) running independently from each other with 2 licenses (16 Sockets CPU and 24 Sockets CPU). My goal is that both Backup Servers can backup from disk -> disk(HPE StorgeOne 5200) -> Tape (HPE MSL 3040). I have some questions as follows:- Is it possible to add 1 Window Server (Use it as Tape Server) to 2 Veeam Backup Server?- Can use 2 Window Server (Use it as Tape Server) to manage 1 Tape Library (HPE MSL 3040)? If so, what needs to be done?- Is it possible to add 2 licenses to 1 Backup Server to increase the number of CPU Sockets to 40?Thanks

Dear Friends, I faced a strange issue today when I try to delete and recreate coredns pods for my k8s cluster. After that I am not able to access my kasten k 10 dashboard. I see this on front page. Access to mykasten.com was deniedYou don't have authorization to view this page.HTTP ERROR 403I have tried ingress load balancer and node port as well. I saw similar question and I have tried all the options mentioned there. I upgraded to latest Kasten and I also remove resources limit. Hello!I am trying to play with restoring one Hyper-V VM onto another Hyper-V server just to know what to expect in the future.So I created the Backup job which backed up this VM to the Backup repository which in turn resides in the shared folder of the second Hyper-V physical machine, i.e. is the part of the second server.After back up is done (very fast!)  I started Restore job of the Entire VM, and it fails. I tried all possible scenarios : restore entire VM, immediate restore with the following migration, I tried even importing this backup and restoring VM from imported file - ALL FAILED with the same symptoms: restoration starts very optimistically and energetically, going to the point of 45-46 GB of vhdx restoration, stops, nothing seems to be happening, only process timer shows it is still alive and ticking, and this frozen state continues for 5 to 8 hours just to get this ChannelError: ConnectionReset. Thank you!

Der Versuch, ein System mit “Bare Metal Restore” (Backup liegt auf SMB-Freigabe) wiederherzustellen, schlägt nach fehl:System ist von USB gestartet und Log-Files sind leider nicht vorhanden.Wie kann ich weiter suchen … möglichst ohne jedesmal eine Stunde warten zu müssen.

Cannot auto-update from 5.0.3.4708 because the digital signature of the downloaded update file is invalid!This is happening on three personal computers at two different locations.I had to download the update from the website and manually update.Not a big deal but what is up the the auto-update utility?  

 I had M365 backups working flawlessly and then needed to switch repositories. Somewhere in there, something broke. So I ended up removing the repo, removing Veeam M365 backup, cleaning up all app residue and re-installing from scratch, since this was a new, small instance and I just wanted it to be clean.Now, every time I try to run a backup against the same recreated Org, the job will connect to the org, start resolving the objects, it finds the objects to backup but never actually receives any data. Shortly thereafter (30 seconds or so), the proxy service crashes and the portal shows status “disconnected” and Details “Job was interrupted”.I have even tried putting it on a different VM and the same behavior persists. The only element that I haven’t recreated is the O365 implementation. I have also recreated the Azure apps/certs each time as well.The logs don’t seem to show much. Below is the end of the latest log as well as the console view and some event logs. I am kind of at a loss

I have installed k10 in a vCluster environment which has k3s as k8s distribution.k8s version: 1.23.5+k3s1kasten version: 6.0.1When I run the policy for backing up the namespace. Hallo zusammen, da ich erst neu beim Thema Veeam bin, wollte ich gleich mal eine Frage in dieses Forum einbringen: Ich wollte gerne mit 1 Server + 3 PCs die Version „Community Edition“ einsetzen.Der Server orchestriert alles.Eine erste Sicherung des Servers + der PCs hat auch schon funktioniert, aber wie kann ich mit Wechselmedien arbeiten?Wöchentlich sollen die getauscht werden. Es wurde ein 2tes Repository angelegt für die 2te ext. Backup HDD, war das richtig oder eher nicht?Oder braucht es nur 1 Repository wo einfach die Platten gewechselt werden?Ich habe gelesen, dass die 2 Sicherungsmedien (ext. Hi Veeam Community!We are looking to migrate our backups from a standard repository to an SOBR in order to utilise Wasabi storage for capacity tier. We current have backups jobs storing to local storage repository with 30 day retention, with copy jobs to a another backup repository at one of our other sites for offsite/archival backup purposes. Local repository is around 30TB and ‘offsite/archive’ repository is around 100TB. Ideally we would like to move the primary repository to performance tier of an SOBR and remote repository to capacity tier. Is this a supported migration, or will the backup copy job part cause us issues? Ideally we would prefer not to have to create new jobs, and maintain backup history. We are running B&R V12. Any insight or tips on how to achieve the above would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!Cameron
