I did a lot of testing with B&R 12 already and I learned a lot so far. But yesterday I ran into a new problem. I have my Backup Server which runs Veeam B&R 12 as domain administrator (using windows authentication to open and run Veeam). Then I have a backup repository on an other machine in my LAN. This machine is equiped with a Tandberg RDX drive. I run full backup jobs every day on these rotating drives. The job shall delete all backups on the disk and run a fresh full backup. This does not work for some reason. So I delete the RDX disks manually (via Windows scheduler) and considered this could be done with a Veeam Pre-Job-Script too. Well, it wont work. I use psexec64.exe to delete content on the machine with the RDX drive. The scipt (.cmd) I wrote works fine under my admin account. No problems when i launch it in cmd or simply double-click it. Hello Everyone, After renaming the server, Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager did not change the target patch, so when I click on the shortcut, it tries to open a web address through my old hostname, can I change my host without deleting anything? It should be like this  https://hostname:9443 I changed the IIS site bindings, but this did not change the shortcut, when I type the correct link, I can open it on the web

Hi all, I need your help to know a specific info for the subject pillar.We are preparing proposals for a client which will have to decide a DR solution between Veeam and VmWare SRM. I know both VMware SRM and Veeam with VDRO are great products.VMware SRM is focuses on DR/BC of VM but without application aware  Veeam includes application aware consistency. I add some better features than SRM for me. Failover plan with ordered start Sure-Replica LOW RPO in 2 seconds CDP feature VDRO with dynamic documentationSo I ask you which SRM features can be better than Veeam B&R? Thanks for your reply

Hello to all,I would need a advice or a suggestion what would be the best way to setup our backups.We have two sites, one in Vienna, Austria and another one is in Novi Sad, Serbia.We have Synology RS3621xs+ with 80TB on both location.Currently what we have configured is that Backups are going straight to NAS in Vienna and its being sync with Synology built in app Synology Share Sync to our NAS in Novi Sad, Serbia.I tried with Veeam Backup Copy Job through WAN Accelerator but as our biggest VM is 7TB its not that efficient.Please if you have a solution or a suggestion feel free to comment. Any help would be appreciated. 

I recently did an “unscheduled rebuild” of my cluster and restored K10 using the disaster recovery process outlined in the docs. I did run into an issue with a couple of the restore pods hanging waiting for a volume to be created so worked around this by manually creating the pvc and that allowed the restore to complete successfully.  I mention this because I suspect that might have something to do with the current issue I face which is the ‘media’ namespace backup is failing nightly with the following error.  - cause: cause: cause: cause: cause: message: "[PUT /artifacts/{itemId}][409] updateArtifactConflict &{Code:409 Message:Conflict. I’ve been using Agent for Windows for a long time. I’m setup to do scheduled daily Entire Computer backups to Shared Folder (on DSM) with periodic Active full backups early one morning each month, with periodic health checks one other morning each month, and with 32-days retention. It’s been rock-solid dependable. Until Windows 11, that is. On Windows 11, I’m seeing two issues:First, and most critical, is that it doesn’t seem to be respecting the periodic full backup setting or reliably respecting the 32-day retention cleanup of obsolete backups. Three months in a row now, I’ve looked the morning after the full backup was supposed to have run and found only the incremental ran--or even it didn’t run (see next issue). I’ve done full backup on request from the UI. This morning for my laptop I have at least 71 backups, full or incremental, with 33 incrementals newer than the second oldest full. The oldest full is 12/25/22--69 days old, with newer full sets on 1/30/23 (33 days) and 2/26/23

Further to my earlier question about backing up between networks, I tried to start removing the Veeam components that are installed on the Hyper-V hosts.  One of the hosts is being a real pig and will not remove with error ‘Connecting to installer service Error: The RPC server is unavailable.’  On checking, the Veeam Installer Service is not running and will not start with an errors 7009 and 7000.  Trying to delete the service as per KB2263: Failed to start service ‘VeeamDeploySvc’ - The system cannot find the file specified. does not work either!  Any suggestions on how to manually remove Veeam components from this host? Slight curveball is that it is Windows Server Core 2019.Thanks!

Running the https://docs.kasten.io/tools/k10_primer.sh  for Kasten 10 I eventually get Validating Provisioners: driver.longhorn.io:  Is a CSI Provisioner  -  OK  CSI Provisioner doesn't have VolumeSnapshotClass  -  Error  Storage Classes:    longhorn      Valid Storage Class  -  OK I’m running Longhorn 1.2.4 and according to this (https://kubernetes-csi.github.io/docs/drivers.html) it looks like I need v1.5 for a CSI driver? But Longhorn only goes up to 1.4.0. How do I get this rectified? This product looks extremely useful for our environment.

I'm messing with Kasten on a K3s running OpenEBS cStor.I realized that is not possible to restore a Snapshot overriding the current running Pods whereas for a new NS is. Hello,I have updated some of the V12 VBR servers with the patch from Tuesday.The server is running and backups are possible.But I see on all servers a warning for a system process ( Veeam Console → History Tab → System).Are you seeing this warning/error, too? Edit:Seems to be a timing issue with both V11 and V12.The next planned execution of the Catalog Cleanup on day later runs successfully.So, It’s a “cosmetic” issue.

Hi, I have VBR11. Have added Debian vm to Physical Infrastructure. Agent and other linux components were installed successfully. Added account with sudo privilege. When I try to create backup of Entire Machine/Volume or even File Based I get error : Error: Failed to execute agent management command startBackup. table JobSessions has no column named end_time Unable to run query. which leads me to nothing. What seems to be a problem?

I’m a bit confused as to where the line is drawn between VEEAM and S3 compatible cloud storage providers and their data protection settings. Does VEEAM do the settings for data retention and immutability, or should those be set in the cloud storage provider bucket? Or is it a mash up of both?AKA; I can set Immutability in WASABI at the bucket. If I do not set the bucket immutability there, will VEEAM set it for me if it is configured for immutability or retention?I’m trying to figure out who controls the data lifecycle / protection. Sorry to bother the community again… but today i started to do restore-tests from successfull backups and ran into JetError -582. I cant find anything about this error.What I did:I tried to restore a single item from our scheduled exchange server backup. Everything worked until the database should have been opened. The backup I tried to restore from was the most recent and finished without warnings or errors.  It was an incremental backup. 3 hours before the faulty backup I did a manual incremental backup too (just for testing). Restoring items from this backup was successfull.Is there a possibility to repair the faulty backup / database / missing logfiles?Will all further incremental backups be faulty?Will a full backup solve this problem?Thankes a lot in advance :) 

not sure what the issue is but im using local admin credentials to add these new proxy servers into my backup infra. subsequently when creating new jobs these proxies are not showing up as availble for usage. any ideas?

Now that 12 is out and we can officially get our hands on gMSA it seems the documentation is a bit lacking. My migration to V12 went smooth and EASY! Didn’t even get to finish my lunch before it had completed. I am using gMSA within my environment for other applications so I have familiarity with this functionality. I was able to link the gMSA within the Managed Credentials (like normally), however I don’t see gMSA being an option for linking to a physical agent job within V12. I just see the typical standard account settings. I made sure my physical agents are on version 6 now and also did a rescan of them, which then did another transport update. I then updated the running services to use the gMSA account on the actual veeam services, but again nothing is showing up.  Anyone have any insight to this before I open a case on this?

Hi all, As I am new to this community hub I would like to start with a discussion about the VeeamOne custom reporting. How cool would it be to collect all your favorite reports and send them in one file. Well, it’s possible but I am struggling a bit with the lay-out of the PDF, Excel file and Word file that will be generated by VeeamOne.I was hoping that it would be fixed in v12 but apparently they didn’t manage or maybe even didn’t know about it.So what is happening?By generating a report by custom report builder, the lay-out is much different then how it is supposed to be. Every grapic, every table, summary and overview will be used on one full page. We can not send this output to our clients that contains 40 pages more then nesseccary. I wonder if people are strugling with this issue and if there is a fix available.
