Hi All, I need a Veeam powershell command to fetch agent based backup. I am using below command to fetch last night backup status but it doesn’t include agent based backup. Get-VBRBackupSession | Where-Object {$_.JobType -eq "Backup" -and $_.EndTime -ge (Get-Date).addhours(-24)} Do you know single command to fetch all types of backup or different command for agent based backup? Thanks in advance

Actually, we logged the case to Veaam support team for some issue. they analyzed upgrade the Veaam server version from 12.1.1.56 to 12.1.2.172 and we are getting notification for upgrade the version on Veaam console. As per my understand, can we do through below steps ?first completed all jobs then disable all job take a configuration backup to another location. then start upgradation from Veaam console.is it right process or can we upgrade from new latest version install on same server ?Please suggest.

Hello,We are using self-service portal for our backups and we've discovered different size for each backup job. For example backup job on portal is showing 747,1GB of given backup but vbk file showing 855GB. what is the reason of this differences?thanks,Ladislav.

I have an Netapp A900. Volumes have a lot of shares in them. Adding shares individually would be tedious. So the question is, can I add the entire volume to a NAS job and then Veeam will protect all shares within the volume ?

I have a tape library with 4 drives. Veeam seems to be only using 2 of them. For example, right now I see all 4 drives - 1 is writing to 1 tape job, a 2nd is writing to another tape job, the other 2 drives are sitting, showing “idle”. Yet I have 5 more tape backup jobs sitting in queue, all showing status “0% completed”. Why isn’t Veeam writing some of those jobs to those 2 idle drives? I do have a setting on each tape job to limit it to no more than 2 drives, because I don’t want any 1 job to monopolize all tape drives. But Veeam seems to think that means to use only 2 drives *total*, not per-job. Have I missed some setting? Or set something wrong? I have a lot of data to write to tape every night, and more to come. In fact, I am waiting on 2 more tape drives, for a total of 6. But Veeam isn’t utilizing all the drives in the library. I did ask Tech Support, while I was troubleshooting another tape issue, but I never got a response to this question.Anyone? I feel it has to be something

Tape issues, Hey guys, I have been round and round with support and we are not getting far I have 28 tapes in my tape library and VEEAM sees them and reads them, but they are only showing 107gb free of 107gb total storage.  These are 30tb LTO8 drives and the systems UI itself shows the drives are 100% clear thoughts on what else I could try? I have done everything using the itdt.exe tool and still no luck    Thanks in advance

Hi Everyone,  I have a notification of potential malware detection on one of my VM with the message "potential malware activity detected: *.purge(Globe):1”  Does anyone know how to resolve this ?

Cloud team has done final sync-up of the source and destination bucket , so we disabled the backup job , created one object storage repository with the new aws account and then added to the capacity tier extent of existing SOBR , but we are unable to see the synchronize data option , please help

Can someone help me with info on how Veeam processes parallel VMDK’s? Does it uses VDDK Libraries or bypasses VDDK and uses its own libraries?  I have seen few backup solutions still struggling to achieve this parallel processing.

a)I have a VBR 12 running on Postgre DBb)I am setting up another VBR and this time I dont want to use the default Postgre DB.Hence I an selecting Miceosoft SQL Server but its asking me to create the SQL Instance first. Am I supposed to install SQL Full Blown Instance or SQL Express Instance?

Hello, Thanks, I cannot install latest VBRso this is what happened. For years, at VBR 11 installed and worked great. thanks veeam! Now, tried to update to latest 12.1. i downloaded .iso and checked md5 hash. That update failed, complained could not uninstall veeam for linux. I tried again to update and this time, instead of being asked to upgrade, i was only given option to Install. I tried to install, but VBR complains about seen belowSo I tried to manually remove VBR using:https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/how-to-uninstall-v12-community-edition-completely-t89675.htmlhttps://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/how-to-uninstall-v12-community-edition-completely-t89675.html But, when i try to install, I still get that same error message, as shown above.here is the contents of VbrSuite_26_05_2024_10_32_34.log[26.05.2024 10:32:34][INFO] Configuration file: G:\Setup\VBRSettings.xml[26.05.2024 10:32:34][INFO] Engine is starting...[26.05.2024 10:32:34][INFO] Creatin

Hey all,I have installed veeam backup in GCP and in the policies I have created, both the snapshot and the backup are working (attached images).now i would like to clone this backup that veeam has generated, in a new instance of GCP, but i don't see how to do it.the idea is not to use the veeam windows backup (VBR) or another system, but to do it from GCP.take the structure that veeam has created when leaving the backup and restore or clone the machine in GCP.I don't see the option to do it. maybe it is not possible. someone help me to clarify this issue.I have consulted articles like the ones below, but they do not help me:If it is not possible to do it as I indicate, and I have to use VBR as a prerequisite, what is the point.I mean, is it essential to use it? is it mandatory to have VBR installed and there is no other way? Thanks in advance.

Hi all… greetings…I am wondering if expiry date can be shown in the Veeam GUI under backup properties? With using Dell DataDomain immutable repo

adding hyper-v host failed with "invalid credentials" noting that we don't have domain and the Veeam and Hyper-V are on the same subnet.

Hi Team,Actually, we restored one VM through instance recovery and it’s completed successfully, but one NFS datastore mounted on vCenter datastore. why? and one more thing if it is mount then after should be delete automatically? why it is deleted manually?is there any option available to avoid mounting or delete automatically.

Hi Folks, What has your object storage journey with Veeam been like and at what stage are you at now?I started using S3 compatible the minute Veeam introduced it as capacity tier for Scaleout repos. I leveraged a 4 node Docker Swarm cluster with Minio. I chose Docker Swarm at the time as Minio advised to use containers for multitenancy and mentioned Kubernetes. I arrogantly thought I would read up over the weekend and on Monday get it going. That was not the case to say the least. Docker Swarm was much simpler and I eventually went with that. The solution worked well but my lack of deep understanding put some restraints on what I could do, not to mention that Docker Swarm, while being a solid solution did not have the incredible fine tuning capabilities that Kubernetes has.Since then it has been all Kubernetes and S3 never far behind. It got to the point where I simply had to defect to the S3 compatible side of the force completely 😁. So what was your journey, what are you using. What

Hi folks,We have Veeam B&R and a hardened repo for all our backup jobs. Repo is configured to allow 8 concurrent tasks. We run a SAP backup job every 10 minutes. When SAP backup runs while there is any other job running that uses all the connections to the repo, the SAP job fails. I’ts unable to wait for the repo to have any ‘channel’ available as other jobs do.Is there any setting to tell the SAP job to wait until there is any available connection to the repo? Thanks in advance

Hello All, I have a TAPE job that works well until one day is skipped, for example, due to a holiday. In such cases, it tries to back up the missed days as well, but then it no longer fits on the tape. Currently, there are 10 processes in the TAPE job, but if a day is skipped, it becomes 20 processes, and if two days are skipped, it becomes 30 processes.I can only fix it by deleting the TAPE job and creating a new one. This again only works well until a day is skipped. I am using the following: Veeam Backup and Replication 12.1.1.56, TAPE: IBM ULT3580-HH6 SCSIAny idea? Thanks,

Hi all. The situation is a little unusual, in our infrastructure there is a working version of Veeam Backup & Replication 11 running on a virtual machine with Windows Server 2019 Standard, everything is fine with it. But recently we launched a spare physical server in the data center, I exported a virtual machine with Veeam there, and now it does not start.Of the 16 Veeam services, 3 cannot start - “Veeam Backup Service”, “Veeam Broker Service” and “Veeam CDP Coordinator Service”, so the management console does not start. Error 1064 “An exception occured in the service when handling the control request”.Please help me understand what’s going on, this is a complete copy of a virtual machine, just running on a different physical host, what’s the problem?

Does Veeam allows to delete a specific Restore Point via GUI? I want to delete an oldest full backup. Can I directly delete it from the physical location? I reckon this is not going to corrupt my backup chain as I already have another full backup.
