please describe the process you are carrying out.
Do you have some logfiles/screenshots/etc.?
If you are trying to erase the tape from the library UI but have Veeam with the Tape service, you may need to stop the tape service from running as it will lock and take control of the unit. If that is not the case more details as noted by Joe would be good.

Is there a tape job running? If so it has locked the tape drive and you will need to wait on it to finish. If not you can try restarting the tape service to see if that unlocks the tape drive.
