cannot install VBR 12.1

Hello, Thanks, I cannot install latest VBR

so this is what happened.

  1. For years, at VBR 11 installed and worked great. thanks veeam!
  2. Now, tried to update to latest 12.1. i downloaded .iso and checked md5 hash.
  3. That update failed, complained could not uninstall veeam for linux.
  4. I tried again to update and this time, instead of being asked to upgrade, i was only given option to Install.
  5. I tried to install, but VBR complains about seen below
  1. So I tried to manually remove VBR using:
    https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/how-to-uninstall-v12-community-edition-completely-t89675.html
    https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/how-to-uninstall-v12-community-edition-completely-t89675.html
  2. But, when i try to install, I still get that same error message, as shown above.

By looking at the logs I feel that the Veeam registry remnants might be causing the issue.

Can you please check if the below registry keys exists on the server and are they pointing to Veeam Agent for Linux?

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\BD70BCF58C736DC4BB710F74898F2CE3

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\BD70BCF58C736DC4BB710F74898F2CE3

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{5FCB07DB-37C8-4CD6-BB17-F04798F8C23E}

@liyakat_versatile, thanks much

the issue was that the files inside `C:\ProgramData\Veeam` were compressed.

once i un-compressed them, veeam agent worked fine.
