Rather than install the license you can push the agent from the VBR server to the laptop and allow the laptop to manage the jobs, etc.  That is what I would do as you.

Hi @Keshav Sawant  if you enable this function you can administer the licenses on VBR server side

Hi @Keshav Sawant -

The License file you have is for your Veeam Backup environment. the License you purchased of course has a set amount of “instances” you can use to backup, beit virtual machines, file shares, or physical devices.

In your case here as you’ve shared, you’re wanting to back up a physical device. As such there is no need to for a license to be installed on the physical device you’re backing up. As Chris was hinting at above, all you need to do is create a Protection Group, add your physical device to this PG, then  install the Agent on the physical machine. Veeam will also “assign” (or allocate) one of your license instances to this device automatically. You will be able to see this in from the VBR Console > Main Menu > License, then select the Instance tab.

When you deploy the Agent onto the machine, you can select to do so via Managed or Standalone Mode, which means you can manage the Agent via VBR or from the machine directly if you want.
