Hi all.  There is the possibility that this weekend I might need to restore all of our domain controllers in our domain (hopefully this does not come to pass).  It is not a very active AD domain so hopefully but I might have to go back about 3 weeks to get around a problem.Can someone point me to documentation as to how to do this from within Veeam with all the DCs down?  This would mean that no dns resolution will be happening (do I have to create a hosts file on the Veeam server to get around this?).Another hiccup is that for one of the DCs, I notice now that application aware processing has not been turned on so it is going to be restored as just a member server without any special processing for the AD database.Thanks.

Dear All,I have a special technical issue, due to Veeam B&R backup existing schedule setting cannot fill the need requirement, the backup targe include the vSphere and Veeam agent for Windows / Linux.The backup requirements:.1 The schedule daily job for Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov backup to NAS A..2 After schedule daily job for Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec backup to NAS B.Existing backup schedule provide the basic daily, weekly and monthly only, how the customize backup schedule for special requirement???Thanks.

I think this issue relating with https://www.veeam.com/kb1781 this kb. Its true? And when i to apply this kb sometimes its issue have solved. What is veeam minimum network refresh value ? 

Veeam 12.1 Community Edition running on Windows Server 2022 Standard.The host is Hyper-V.  The repository is on a QNap.  This is a new installation.  I’m getting the following error when backing up a VM:Error: Failed to call RPC function 'FclsExists': The user name or password is incorrect The passwords for the repository and Hyper-V host are both confirmed good, as I was able to add, remove, and add them, again, to Veeam.  Thanks, Chris

Actually, we installed veeam plugin for SQL server on SQL server and configured also, but not appeared the secondary repository as NAS server or etc. it is show only default backup repository.why it is not configure? and how to configure the secondary repository in veeam plugin on SQL server ?please suggest.

I need some important information like dedup rate, data security, write/read performance. If anyone has experience with this it would be great.

I want to revisit a discussion I’ve had before about the best DNS configuration for Veeam Cloud Connect.What is common is that there is a common DNS name given to the customers for which multiple A records are created. This provides the round robin load balancing for the cloud gateways.I’ve heard two ways of creating the DNS records for the gateways.A records for each gateway CNAME pointing back to the common DNS nameI know I had seen some documentation supporting the CNAME option before but I can’t seem to find it now.I’m asking this in context of pushing out VSPC Agents. I’m not sure I fully understand how the Agents communicates back to the VSPC and connects the Agent Backups or VBR to the service provider. I am seeing in some instances that it adds a service provider to the VBR but using one of the gateway DNS entries and not the common DNS entry.

Hi, I have a Protection Group with 8 clients all running Veeam Agent.  The Protection Group is part on a schedule that backs everything up once a week.  Is there a way to backup one of the machines in an adhoc manner?  Is that Quick Backup or something else?Thank you!

Hello everyone,As you know, we cannot always take a backup by installing a remote Linux agent with Veeam B&R. Because it does not support some systems. We use Veeam Linux Agent as a nice solution here. I was using this for a few of my clients. But the biggest problem is that SMTP configuration cannot be made. Is there an additional solution for this? Or is there a possibility that such a solution will come to Linux Agent in the future?  

We have vbk files from Dec 23 and Jan 24. Do you we need those fie for restore? Our retention was 15 days and it was reduced to 4 days.

Hello,Getting the following error while trying to run the backup copy job: “Processing “Server Name” Error: Cannot create or load meta-file "D:\VBRCatalog\Publications\Upload\66f61108-b62d-467c-845f-fc111d0b9223\PubCommands.txt". Open mode: EMtfLoadFile "D:\VBRCatalog\Publications\Upload\66f61108-b62d-467c-845f-fc111d0b9223\PubCommands.txt" does not exist.  ” I checked out the path. There’s nothing in the Upload folder. It’s empty. Please let me know what might cause this?  Thank you.

HelloWe have a physical Huawei server (5288 v5) with Windows 2019 and Veeam installed. Since the announcement that the Veeam plugin is no longer supported, we have uninstalled the plugin and removed the storage in the Veeam admin center. Now we want to update to version 12, but there is an error message in the configuration checks. This is “unsupported Huawei Storage system”. We're supposed to remove something first, but I don't know what it should be. We have already tried to virtualize the server to another one, but the error persists. Curious as to why by default is the B&R console installed along with a new B&R server install in v12?Security best practices say to run the console on a separate stand alone computer, using a local credentials, and on a separate network or VLAN.This being the case one would think that there would be an option during the install process to include the console or not. I ask, because I am inherently lazy and would rather watch dog videos than go through the hassle of removing the console from the server. Also best practices should be easy to implement so all admins implement them.

Hi to everyoneI am trying to take a backup for two disks on a physical machine (a server) with windows server. I have the next warning I understand that Veeam Backup cannot access to the folders that have Oracle databases and I have two questions.Is the backup usefull in case that I need a recovery? I know that all data couldn’t be read inside the disk.Could I give the credentials (username/password) to access Oracle databases? at the moment where I installed the windows plugin over the server I accepted the option to install Oracle RMAN plugin. Thank you for your time and help

Hi, I have a protection group with 8 PC’s.  The PC’s are not always on and so sometimes they miss the backup schedule.  Is there a way to see the last successful backup of each PC without having to drill down on each one?  Thank you!

Dear Forum,it’s my pleasure join this group as a member.I’ve a question regarding installation of K10 in an Openshift enviromnent.The cluster is made of VM, with local storage, and also making use of a NFS share provided by a FreeNAS deployed in the same environment.Installation of the operator was smooth, grafic, from OCP console, before using a “local-storage” storage class (that, from K8s docs, didn’t allowed a dynamic claim) and then using the shared NFS, configuring the driver nfs-csi, and then also the relative VolumeSnapshotClasses.The issue occured when creating the operand: preflight check was successfully completed, PVC and relative PV also successful, but the pods below were in a “CrashLoopBackOff” state:catalog  job logging k10-grafana meteringJust the last one has logs. Actually, we are Veeam partner and one of the customers purchased the license of Veeam data platform23h2 license.so, may I know the confirm please, it is bundling software as include Veeam backup and replication, Veeam one, Veeam recovery orchestrator? 

Hello everyone,I'm new to this forum and using free Veeam agent on windows 10 and 11 to make a full backup to a synology DS224+ NAS. Both on latest firmware/version.But after the step finalizing the snapshot, I get the error message that veeam could not resolve the IP of the cifs share. But I can access the share via explorer and the veaam configuration files are safed to this share. So it's working.Did not find any threads for this problem.Appreciate your help and tipps!Best regards
