Quick question.How do I view the attachments that I previously uploaded to a case?Just to make sure they're there.I have a feeling attachments from my email responses do not get attached to the case (although noone reacts on it even though I explicitly refer to those filenames) I’m asking because I had a Zoom session with one of the support guys and he only looked at my screen for a second before telling me how to proceed, however it was the exact screen I already attached to one of my responses as an e-mail attachment.Thanks.

Just throwing this out to the community/Veeam to see what comes back!In reviewing V13 B&R Release notes I see that a really cool feature called Azure Instant Recovery is available, which does exactly that, recovers your VM directly from object storage to Azure and then you can finalize back to a normal managed disk. I’m currently embarking on a couple of Veeam Disaster Recovery Orchestrator gigs and in reviewing its capability to recover into Azure it only seems to support the streaming of the backup, like a standard restore where you have to wait for the whole backup to be recovered and processed, and then you can turn the recovered machine on.What I am curious about is if there are any roadmap plans/ feature requests to have Veeam DR Orchestrator do instant recovery to Azure as part of its orchestration to get things online much faster at scale… I still haven't tested Instant recovery to Azure with B&R so outside of sounding super slick, I cant comment on its useability or pe

Hello,I'm hitting a wall as we do not necessarily want to configure OS credentials for each and every single VM. Sure we can pre-deploy SSH keys, play with Tag to identify the Guest OS (different types of authentication between Windows/Linux) yadda yadda, but there must be a simpler way.I have tried with a Linux VM:1. installed deployment kit, we could just predeploy it everywhere automatically2. it listens on 6160 (installer service IIRC)3. When running a job using Guest OS credentials: "Use management agent" it doesn't even talk to 6160 but claims that it's falling back to trying to connect to guest since transport service is not availableWhy isn't it just installing it using installer service? Is it possible at all to use VBR in some kind of "agent" mode (while veeam optimally takes care of updating the agents as it sees fit)?Or do we have to use it in this shady ephemeral client "access-all and install whatever I like" mode?What is deployment kit then good for anyway?Thanks 

Dear Veeam Community,I hope you can enlighten me.We have the goal to setup endpoint backups without the use of a vpn.We installed veeam b&r & cloud gateway on a test server so far.Now whe thought we could like generate an agent for a tenant and then install that agent to endpoints of this tenant to be able to backup files of the endpoint via the cloud gateway direkcly into the configured tenant backup repository.At this point we’ve tried a lot and I doubt that this will work the way we intended.It seems like the cloud gateway is used to connect different vbr servers and save their backups in a service providers repositories. But that wouldnt solve the problem that the customer needs an own vbr and a vpn to have a connection between his endpoints and his vbr server in order to back the endpoints up to the service provider. (Endpoint → Tenants VBR Server → Cloud Gateway → Service Providers Repositories)Is there any chance to make it work like this:Agent on Endpoint → Cloud Gatewa

When I try to do this after specifying an output directory of /home/amonra I get:which doesn’t help lots.  What are you using /tmp when I explicitly gave an output directory where there’s loads of space.Now I guess I need to massively enlarge /tmp which is a problemD.

I am not able to replace my Veeam Backup and Replication certificate with a new .pfx. When I try to install the .pfx from the Options->Security->Install menu in the B&R Console it returns an error “Certificate’s Private Key is Empty”. I have verified I created the .pfx correctly using OpenSSL and combining the .cer with the .key. I have verified the .key is in fact a private key and not a public key. I have verified the .pfx key permissions have the appropriate read/write for the Veeam service account to access the key. The .pfx certificate is good with a valid private key. Why can’t it be installed on Veeam Backup and Replication. In order for me to upgrade Veeam B&R from version 12 to version 13 I require a certificate with the Basic Constraints extension. I now have a certificate with Basic Constraints as a .pfx but I cannot install it to Veeam B&R.

Ok guys, maybe I’m completely stupid.How do I upload a script file to /var/lib/veeam/scripts using console?I go to the Files tab and browse to the directory. I can edit, rename, delete files, create directories, but how do I simply upload a file!?ThanksLOL

The case product is Veeam Backup & Replication version 12.1.2.172We copied data from a main Veeam repository to a secondary offsite Veeam repository for backup copy job seeding.The previous server that held the copy jobs was replaced after it died. Copied backups are visible under Home > Backups > Disk (Imported) on repository Backup copy job Map Backup dialog shows only the repository node and no selectable imported backup chains beneath it.Regular backup job Storage > Map backup dialog shows the imported backup chains are selectable, We created the data using the Copy Backup button.We were not prompted for an encryption password during repository rescan. we imported the backups but its not showing on the list to map for backup copy.Is it because the Backup jobs and backup copy jobs use different chain formats and metadata, and a backup copy chain can be mapped only to a backup copy job, not to a regular backup job; conversely, a regular backup-job chain is not a valid se

Hello.I have three servers: one is EnterpriseManager, the second is VeeamBackup, and the third has the Veeam console installed. When I launch the Veeam console on the backup server, I get the error "failed to load license from backup services." I looked at the logs and see that the client versions match. I see that a connection attempt is being made, but the connection is being closed. I don't understand why. I tried TNC fqdn for the backup server - port 9392, as well as port 9396, and there were no errors..  I changed the names and IP addresses in the logs. I don't think they're needed for analysis. Hi,I noticed that I have two running backup jobs since mid May and it appears they are stalled. From the same job I get success emails each day. It appears the backups job were running fine at the scheduled time. Kind of overlap.Maybe the stalled job are leftovers when I upgrade my VBR to 13. I’m not sure. I shutdown the server twice and the stalled jobs reappears. I can right click on it and press stop, but even after hours nothing happens.How can I get rid of the running instances? I enclose two screenshotsThanks,Edy

Hello Community, I'm experiencing an issue when trying to use VM Intelligence in Veeam version 13.0.2.29, both when deployed as a VSA Appliance and when installed on Windows.When accessing the feature, I receive the following error message:"Cannot verify the product license." both Backup servers are connect to the internet. What I find strange is that I am using a valid NFR Premium license with more than 300 days remaining before expiration.I have already verified that the license is correctly installed, and the issue occurs on both deployment types, which makes me think it could be related to a VM Intelligence licensing requirement, online license validation, or possibly a bug in version 13.0.2.29.Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows of any troubleshooting steps or solutions?Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was wondering if someone could help with an issue I’m having in Veeam agent for windows, I get the following error when trying to restore files from a volume backup stored on a network share. Hi Heroes, hope you all are good.I’m using VRO 7.2 , I have  executed a recovery plant hours ago, but on recovery plans steps it shows in-use, but the recover worked.Does anyone have an ideia why it still in-use? If I reset it, it will be OK,

We are no longer able to use the "Update All" function on our Veeam Hardened Repository, as it fails with an error related to the GPG key.To clarify, we do not have a Host Management Web UI or a Veeam Appliance deployment. Our environment consists of Veeam Backup & Replication with a Linux Hardened Repository only.Username veeamsvc  Cannot access log file directorytar -czf ~/veeamlog-$(date +%Y%m%d-%H%M%S).tar.gz /var/log/VeeamBackup/tar: Removing leading `/' from member namestar: /var/log/VeeamBackup: Cannot open: Permission deniedtar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors  Could you please advise on how to resolve the GPG key error in this configuration?  

While trying to export.BAK file while using Veeam Explorer, it gives the following message what could be the issue. This same error appear by using instant recovery, recovering to the same location and alternate location, in addition to restore DB file to the same location and alternate location. DB Unable to attach database. | Subquery returned more than 1 value. Version 13.0.1I am backing up to LTO 4 tape drives.   I have one job that backs up drive M: and N: backups.   One backup I get this error on drive M: and the next time on drive N:.   5/31/2026 7:27:36 AM Warning : Failed to create a VSS snapshot for M: Details: Writer 'MSMQ Writer (MSMQ)' is failed at 'VSS_WS_FAILED_AT_PREPARE_BACKUP'. (0:00:15)I changed the VSS timeout to 20 minutesI ran chkdsk and analyze and optimize on both drives.  No errors.   Windows 10 does it weekly.   More than 50% available on both drives.   I have rebooted the tape server.   I restarted the services.   The jobs are not big.  M: is around 50GB.   N: is 350GB.   I never had this issue on 11A. Still get these errors.  

when adding minIO object storage  which is deployed on local server to vbr , it throws error of certificate reterival failed from minio..note:vbr is deployed using JeOS and is applinace based,minIO uses 2083 port for its api endpoint.do any one encounter this error and have wayout!

I'm experimenting with the VHR 2.0.09 ISO. It works perfectly for me. I'm using a virtual machine for VHR where I have two disks added, one for the OS and one for the repository. I'm trying to extend the repository. What would be the recommended steps to extend the disk, or is it not possible?

Scenario, a customer has a complex environment where their DC doesn’t have groups for servers, Laptops, Different users in different regions. Customer want to backup servers and endpoint but the laptop backup has different requirement. Let’s say Executive backup must backup the entire PC and other users you select a specific folder.  If you deploy backup protection group using CSV files, there is a lot of manual requirements if changes happen to that environment.  The question is how to use AD to create separate requirement even thou the DC is complex.

OS is Linux Mint Mate 22.  Been running VAL v.6 successfully for some time, now looking to update to v.13.  File downloaded, only option seems to be .iso for which I use Balena Etcher.  BE says, problem with this file, and cannot continue.  Ran the download three times, BE tells me the same thing with each of the downloaded files.Previous Veeam downloads were .deb files, used for ubuntu/debian systems.  Could be there isn’t or won’t be such for v.13.  Anyone know whether v.12 is available?

Hello Team,I am using Veeam Agent / Veeam Backup and Replication for backup storage on a NAS.I noticed that in my backup repository folder, Veeam creates:.VBK full backup files multiple .VIB incremental backup files .VBM metadata filesMy question is:Why are there multiple .VBK files stored in the same backup folder?Are these incremental restore points expected behavior?Also:Will Veeam automatically delete old .VBK and .VIB files according to the retention policy? Is it safe to manually delete multiple or older .VBK files from the repository folder if storage becomes low? How does Veeam manage the backup chain cleanup process?I want to better understand how Veeam handles incremental backup retention and storage management.Thank you.
