Hi,Today I upgrade in my homelab (with NFR license) from Veam 12.3 to 13. I have 3 Proxmox node and three Proxmox backup job, Everything was running fine before the upgrade. Now with 13 I discovered that Proxmox is missing, when I click “add new server” and virtualization platform Proxmox is not there. Proxmox plug in is installed version 13.3.1.7 No idea what has happened with the upgrade. The upgrade process ran without an issue. Any idea? What I already did is uninstall the Veeam Proxmox plug-in and reinstalled installed after a restart of each step.

We have a few clients that have a single physical server and have a service or application that is already using port 443.  So when we attempt to upgrade from v12 to v13, it won’t install since 443 is being used and v13 uses it for the Veeam Web Service.  Assuming we can temporarily disable this service/app to get the upgrade to complete, is there a way once v13 is installed to get the Veeam Web Service to use a different port?

I enabled MFA for login and if I login from veeam server then I asked to enter the MFA every I open the console.If i login from veeam console from my laptop then i’m only asked to enter the MFA when 1st time connect to the server. After that even i already reboot my laptop then i never asked to enter the MFA again.

Our environment is currently set up as follows:Veeam VBR Server: Running as a VM on VMware.Database Server: Running as a separate, dedicated VM (MS SQL).Current Backup: We are currently including both the VBR VM and the DB VM in a standard VMware snapshot-based backup job.Is this considered a "good" or "supported" configuration? I am concerned about:Stun/Freeze: Will the VMware snapshot "stun" cause the VBR server to lose its connection to the remote database during jobs?Consistency: Does a standard VM backup ensure the VBR server and the separate DB VM stay in sync if a restore is needed?Circular Dependency: If our VMware cluster goes down, we lose our backup server.Should I exclude these VMs from our regular backup jobs and rely solely on the Configuration Backup tool, or is there a benefit to using Veeam Agent for these specific servers instead?

Hi,if i create a backup copy job in the Veeam Scenario Builder with VMs, Agents, Plugin, NAS to a XFS Repo i can select 7 Workloads:After I changed the backup copy repo to “direct to object storage” i can max select 6 workloads, cause Oracle Plugin Backup isn’t visible anymore. I choosed V13 inside the Scenario Builder where a Plugin to S3 Backup should work.Is this a bug or where is the problem there? GreetsPeter

Hello. I have installed the newly released version 13 of the software appliance. I also have a Synology DS923+ NAS. Both devices are separate and are not added to any domain. Could you please advise me on the safest way to connect this NAS to the newly released appliance? I tried to connect to the SMB share, but I am getting Kerberos errors. I have version 12 installed on Windows Server, and the connection works there. Now I am testing the appliance and encountering connection problems. Thank you in advance for your help.

Here my configuration for azure blob where i set the immutable duration for 7 days. How we can make sure that we can’t delete any backup files inside this blob?I try connect to azure blob storage then upload new file and then i try to delete and i can deleted the file. Is the immutable not work since i can delete test file what i upload manually?

There are two VMware sites, Prod and DR, both got its own vCenter and network infrastructure. VBR and VRO are installed on DR site (vCenter). Both vCenter are configured in VBR, data flow will be with backup proxies on prod vCenter to repo server on DR site. I built recovery plans with network (port) translation done by recovery location(s), That is working fine. There is a vLAB (runing on DR-Host) with Networks definied on DR site, also working fine. So I tried to work with Lab Groups in VLab to get some DC and DNS VM runing as a base infrastructure but it failed, as the “prod networks” are missing on the DR-Host where the vLAB is runing. I’ve already defined that network port group in the vLAB config on VBR (and resynced with VRO). Anyone using Lab groups? BTW. it is V12.3 not V13 yet.

Are there anything besides the tape that need to be preserved before removing the old tape library? Orchestrator Embedded VBR Repair Required.Have a ticket opened with Support for a week now but so far we haven’t figured out the cause of the issue. We have tried to refresh the Registry entry below and reset the state in the VAO DB and restarted the Backup Orchestrator Agent but to no avail.  Connection to an external VBR is working as shown above as Healthy. Thanks again for the community’s input/

One of my VM is showing  FIB summary.txt issue in backup copy job. I would like to run Active full backup on only this problem VM . But this backup copy job has 20 VMs which i don’t want to run full backup as it will cause issue in wasabi bucket. Copy job goes to wasabi bucket. I know individual full backup can initiated in Backup job, but it is not showing BCJ . Please advise.Ver 12.1.2

HelloI am experiencing a behavior that seems unusual compared to my previous experiences. I have three Tape pools with different retention policies. When I try to move a tape from one of these pools to the 'Free' pool, I receive a notification stating that moving the tape will cause it to be formatted.Is this normal behavior? Additionally, how can I remove a tape from a pool without it being formatted?

Somebody is using Qnap with inmutability with object lock like a second destination for copy jobs? In a copy job after the first copy veeam try to overwrite with the second copy the first copy, how you co figure the inmutability days to can have the copy for 7 days for example? Thanks in advance

I’m getting the below error after upgrading Veeam servers from v12 to the latest release of v13. It’s a windows based install of Veeam, and it is connected to a (dedicated to Veeam only) AD domain.My user has local administrator permissions, Veeam Backup Administrator permissions, and MFA disabled for testing/troubleshooting purposes. The is happening across each of the Veeam v13 servers I have on the domain.It is only happening for mine and one other engineer’s user accounts, but other engineer’s accounts are not affected. We are all in the same AD groups so permissions are the same.I have tried removing Veeam Backup Administrator permissions from my account, rebooting, and re-adding, to no effect.Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions for what else to check? Hi i have a PC that was being backed up wit veeam agent for windows free edition not managed by VBRThe PC is runing windows 10 22H2 ,After an agent update started getting the error failed to start service "VeeamEndpointBackupSvc"Tried repairing the agent , i tried removing it and reinstalling it still getting the same error .It seems something with the agent setting is wrong and removing the agent doesn't really clean all the data from the PC , tried even installing older version still the same.Also i am not seeing that service registered in services Any ideas how to purge the data ?  Or Fix this issue ?Thanks

I am upgrading my Home Lab to new hardware.  Re: I can’t get the register email for mike.mckenney@scsiraidguru.comVeeam Server:  I upgraded the Veeam Server to Windows 10 22H2 from Windows 7.  I can’t install Windows 11 on this box.  I had to remove one of my three tape drives (SCSI) to go to 10.  I have two SAS tape drives.  Veeam is on 11A.   Veeam is working on all boxes except my HP Z480 below.HP Z840 Workstation:  I installed Windows 2022 Standard Server with Hyper-V.  It is in my workgroup, workgroup.  It is in the same network and subnet as my Veeam Server, Windows 11 workstaion and all VMs.  Windows Firewall is turned off.  It was on Windows 10.   Hyper-V is working.  I have 6 Minecraft Servers for our children and family to play on.   They are 8 and 10.   All Ubuntu 24.04 VMs.   Java, Bedrock and Folia.  They love to play with mods and plugins.   I can’t get to the Community Downloads for v12GA and latest v12.   I never get to email from Veeam to register mike.mckenney@scsirai

My home lab: Veeam 11 server is on Windows 10.  I have 6 Ubuntu VMs on my HP Z840 workstation with Windows 2022 Standard Hyper-V.    How do I backup each VM separate so I can recover them.   Both are in a workgroup.    Veeam won’t recognize the 2022 Standard as a Hyper-V server.   Veeam 11 can see it as a 2022 Standard Server.   Do I need to install a Hyper-V agent or Windows Server agent on this box?

I am looking for Veeam powershell script to list jobname, server, status and last run for last 24 hours . this should include backup and copy jobs. Kindly assist.

windows agent backup fails after server upgraded from 2012 to 2016 In protection group shows the server name by both OS versions :  2012 OS ( last seen 5 days ) and 2016 OS - ( Last seen - Online ), however the rescan option gives the error :Failed to connect server:11731The veeam agent is in running state and is restarted, still no luck  

Some of Hyper-V VM have Veeam recovery Checkpoint. The backup job is running successfull every day but why seem veeam not delete this checkpoint? I tried to remove this but there no option to delete this checkpoint.
