Our third-party vulnerability scan started to flag all our proxies and repositories and Branch A and B as needing Linux OS updates

Hi all,A customer’s device is complete gone, but has daily full backups stored via CloudConnect in Wasabi. When we try to import the backups, it gives the message ‘No backups found’. Altough, the Cloud Connect server gives usage of the bucket and de job just ran fine. Any ideas how to import the backup in the Cloud Connect server to start the recovery ? The import of the backup doesn’t seem to find the backup chain….

Hi, I have a question. I recently added an object storage repository (Cloudian) with an immutable retention period of 7 days. Then, I created a new backup job and pointed it to that repository, and I ran the backup. After the backup job completed, I checked the object files in Cloudian and looked at their retention period, and the result shows more than 7 days. Shouldn't it be exactly 7 days, not longer?Attached is the screenshot:Repository config for immutable days The date when the first backup started The object retention displayed in Cloudian Management The 'retain until' date should be 2024-11-14 if the retention is set to 7 days, but this is not what is happeningCan anyone explain how Veeam sets the immutable days for objects in object storage? After taking the manual snapshot on GCP it is going to another zone this behavior of Veeam or GCP as per my understanding the manual snapshot will always save the snap in a multi region location closest to the VM.
Due to some issues with the PostGre SQL database of Veeam B&R CE, I had to uninstall and reinstall Veeam B&R CE. After sucessful installation, I imported the configuration Backup file. Everything worked fine, I had all my Backup Jobs, my Backup Infrastructure and my Physical Infrastcture restored. I was very happy that everything could be restored so easily. But the next day I had some failed Backup jobs in the History. Two servers (no VMs) couldn´t be backuped because of a strange error message:Warning Failed to connect to XXXXXXXX Details: Cannot find package version for component EpAgent package Msi platform X64. OK, it looks like Veeam B&R had some issues to connect with the Agent on this servers. So I uninstalled the Agent on the Server and tried to install the Agent via B&R once again.But it always failed. I have setup a new server on our network. Connected to domain, network, hyper-v installed and I am unable to add this server to the Virtual Infrastructure > Microsoft Hyper-V > Standalone Hosts > (server). I have my Veeam server trying to contact our new server and there seems to be a road block. I am running Veeam V11a trying to setup a new 2019 windows server. During the hyper-v setup process I have added the name and/or IP address, I have selected the last option (standalone) which matches the description of the new server. My credentials do work because I ran a test to setup a VM running server 2019 and I was able to set that up right away. For some reason the physical server is blocking the Veeam connection. Is there a firewall exception I need to add? I did attempt to manually add the physical server to Veeam so the agent might create its own firewall exceptions. I was unsuccessful at that as well.
We need to install the Veeam agent on 2,000 devices within the organization, but centralized file restoration to multiple devices simultaneously is required. Currently, the Veeam Backup & Replication solution does not have this functionality, and it is needed to reduce restoration times for user operations to ensure business continuity in case of ransomware or disaster.
Hello, when making a backup copy the following error comes up: Failed to perform post-processing: Agent invoke failed with non retryable error. Failed to delete 'vm-1042.281cD2024-08-02T222720_EFBF.vbk' per retention policy However the backup does not exist in our cloud storage.The backups from the 7 day retention are present but differently named. Anybody know a solution?
The company I work for is looking to improve its BCDR capabilities utilising Veeam and Azure. Currently in a DC we have VBR (physical server with local storage repo) copying to Azure blob storage and Enterprise Manager on a vm. We are aiming to change the Veeam license to include VRO with the idea of being able to stand up VMs in Azure in the event of the DC going down. My questions are about the placement of the various components. Do we need a second VBR server in Azure? Should the Enterprise manager be shifted to Azure? Would it be best to build the VRO server in Azure? Also where does ONE fit into this? We are talking to an MSP about getting this set up but wanted some advice from the expert community to put my mind at ease. Thanks!
Hi everyone,This is my situation: i configured a backup job on Veeam 12 on rdx drives; i ve got 3 drives (4TB each) and the total size of vms backup is around 1,6 TB; drives are changed daily.My goal is to make an incremental backup, veeam perform each day a full backup tough. So the third day the drives is put in the rdx reader veeam gives me error because the storage is full.In repository settings i marked the rotated drives options. If i set the retention policy to 2 days nothing changes (because veeam policy always keep at least 3 restore points i guess).I tried also reversed incremental with no result. Is there any chance to manage an incremental backup on rotated drives in my situation?The best option would be to have in each drives a full backup + x incremental file, at worst i may configure a pre-job script to manually prune one of the two full backup on the drive. Both servers can resolve hostnames to IP, full communication between sites/on WAN, same domain as well.I used (Site1) primary veeam server “veeamserver1” backed up .bco file and restored it to (site 2) secondary veeam server. “veeamserver2” After restoration on veeamserver2, RED X came up on both hosts and repositories.On veeamserver 2, I did a rescan on on hosts and i got error(all hosts) for below:-Error - [Serverhost1] Disks and volumes discovery failed Error: Access is denied. Hello,I am trying to do a bare metal recovery of a physical windows server 2019.First, I have created a recovery media from the agent backup, then mounted that .iso on the Dell Idrac9 and tried to boot form virtual CD/DVD/ISO, but it’s getting stuck at the windows logo screen.I have also tried to boot from the same iso on a VM just to test. This time, it worked, the veeam console came up and I got all the options for restoration. But on the physical server, it’s not working.Please let me know where I am going wrong. Trying to get K10 working with linkerd service mesh in a test cluster.Prior to deploying linkerd, k10 is working ok doing csi snapshots (Rook Ceph provider) and mysql logical backups (using the kanister example) with backups going to a minio cluster living in its own namespace.I have mesh enabled on the k10, minio and vaultwarden namespaces (testing using vaultwarden as I know it quite well and it uses a database). mysql logical backup is temporarily disabled. Since a few weeks, my backup of my Windows disk (that used to work seamlessly) fails with:Error: Shared memory connection was closed. Failed to upload disk. Skipped arguments: [EmulatedDiskSpec>]; Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}. I have a customer who is using Veeam to migrate some VMs from one Vcenter environment to another. He has set up two virtual proxies, one on the source Vcenter and a second on the Destination Vcenter. Each Proxy VM has 24GB of RAM and 16 vCPU’s. He has set Max concurrent tasks to 20 on both proxies and has a green check mark on that. He set up a job with multiple VM’s with each VM having 2 disks. The job is only processing a max of 4 VM’s at at time. I am thinking it should be able to do at least 10 VM’s (10 x 2 disks = 20 concurrent tasks). Do VM replication jobs use more concurrent tasks than a single task per disk?
Being new to VEEAM, I might be troubleshooting problem that's trivial for VEEAM experts.On Veeam 12.2 and vCenter 8.0.3, my problem is ESXi hosts having multiple networks which causes Veeam's confusion. There's management network and there's vMotion network. The hosts in vCenter are defined as follows:The problem is, Veeam isn't able to back up a single VM. running a lab to test veeam v12.2 with storeonce VSAs. No firewalls, flat network etc. Simple stuff.Backup test works then the copy (storeonce stores copies) fails with:Backup copy was cancelled: ServerIncorrectAddressOrProtocolIts all IP based, single NIC, all options allowed for storeonce NICs too….any ideas?? Odd one if you ask me
