Support center: Open a case: Detailed issue description truncated

They want a detailed description but truncate it at about 2.000 characters :(

"Provide a detailed issue description and error messages." field does not accept more than that.

Usually I prepare my issues in text editor and in the end copy/paste into support portal.
Now I realize only half of it made it through while I don't have my original any more.

I'd expect the GUI at least to give a warning. Noone serious will type his message into some web form initially and realize the input no longer works as he’s typing live.

Who can fix that? Open a case for it? ;)

That is something to bring up to Support while you speak to them.  It is a Veeam site which they would need to address.

Is this during the process of opening a case?
We ask for details, but you don't need to go so deitaled on the first email. Also, after you submitted the case you can add more info.

Why lengthen the dialog when all facts can be put on the table right away?

The main concern is you don’t see it gets truncated.

I think it’s the second time it has happened to me.

Yes, you’ll need to speak with the Support Tech about this. After you create your Case, you can ask for the Support Tech’s manager whom you can address this issue with. That should at least get the ball rolling on addressing your concern about case messaging length.

I’ll open a case with basic info, wait for the first auto-response email, and then reply to it with full details.

If it was me, I'd put the extended details into a txt file and upload to the the case as an attachment.

Same here. This way you can send some screenshots and comment those as well.
