Hello everyone,I am new to this community and have already tried my luck in a closed thread about the Veeam VM Migrator Utility.However, I currently have a question about this utility.Are there any experience reports on migrating individual vSphere VMs using the Migrator Utility?Is individual migration with this tool even intended? Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Since yesterday all our existing configured backup jobs to Azure Blob storage are failing and attempts to create new object storage repository are failing on Validating Credentials.  Error: Unable to access object storage (reason: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. (xstorageaccountnamex.blob.core.windows.net:443))Any ideas?  I’ve tried rotating the access key in Azure and updating that in the Cloud account in Veeam m365 backup.  This has started to occur a week after upgrading to v8 which was ok initially.

Hi all,I want to update Veeam Agent for Windows from 6.3.2.1205 to 6.3.2.1302. The in place upgrade doesnt’t work:  Will my backup job settings be safe when I uninstall the current installed agent and reinstall the new version of Veeam Agent for Windows?Kind Regards

I started my first backup on the 9th. I have retention set to 12 days and Synthetic on Saturdays (default)  . No files have yet been removed from my NAS. I have attached details 9kinow there are extra backups on some days) but its over 12 days now. When will deletion start ? Tony

Does VAMWF support scheduled backup jobs?  I was able to create one with the GUI, but it didn’t run, probably because there was no entry in Task Scheduler.

It is only home network 192.x.x.x using  hyper-v switch.  The network referenced in the error strictly a closed vlan for security cams which is a secondary nic on the host server.  The host server and domain controller backup fine but the win11 clients Veeam keeps trying to use secondary nic which is not connected to the vm. AD DNS does not have any enters for the other network.  so somehow it Veeam is trying to use the host server nics at will.I have set the global traffic preferred network to the home network. makes non difference disabled all firewalls on all devices not joy same error.  my only other thought would be to force all the firewall rules to a scope for th

I back up our Organization sites nightly. Sometimes I get a warning on a job that a site was deleted and I have to go into the job and remove the deleted site from the backup. Is there any way for deleted sites to just be removed from the backup automatically? So the program is only backing up what exists?  Note that currently ‘select objects to back up’ is set to ‘back up the following objects’ which is 23 of 25 sites. So I don’t have ‘Back up entire organization’ selected. Although would that maybe be my fix and dynamically adjust what sites are available to back up? 

I’d like to setup Veeam Windows Backup and Recovery for 1 physical PC. What software and license are required to set this up?

I need to migrate multiple VMs from the old vCenter to the new one and want to keep the existing Veeam backup chain. Is there an easier method than the Veeam VM Migrator Utility?

Hi all,  Maybe I’m not understanding how the Backup Server calculation at https://www.veeam.com/calculators/simple/vbr/server is supposed to work, but seems to give inexplicable results. 1000 Workloads with 500 workloads per job (2 jobs) == 36 cores, 80 GB RAM 99999 Workloads with 500 workloads per job (300 jobs) = 12 cores, 24 GB RAMLess extreme examples produce similar results, seems like we end up with kind of strange requirements no matter what values are added.

We have recently inherited a Kasten system and we are trying to (1) understand how Kasten works and (2) figure out why some of our applications are non-compliant. One issue that we are currently investigating is why one application in particular always fail due to timeout. We are trying to backup a namespace with a couple of PVC:s (using CSI:s - Ceph RBD and Ceph FS). The total backup size is approximately 1.5 TiB.When we first noticed an issue with this application, we saw that the backup failed due to timeout (10h). We then increased the timeout (to 24h) and the next backup worked! (It took 11h.) However, all subsequent backups have failed due to timeout. We have been troubleshooting this for quite some time now but have been unable to find anything conclusive. The worst part is probably that we don’t really understand where in the Kasten deployment to look for relevant logs. Any help figuring out the particular issue or general information about best practices w.r.t. troubleshooting

Ich würde gerne meine Veeam Agents for Microsoft von der Version 6.3.2.1205 → 6.3.2.1302 updaten.Die Agents sind managed/deployt zentral durch meinen B&R Server. Ich möchte aber nicht meine komplette B&R Umgebung dafür updaten. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, nur die Agents für Microsoft zu aktualisieren?Danke euch.Viele GrüßePhilipp  

We have received an update alert for recent CVE for KB ID 4771, to install a patch. What we want to understand is not in any guide, is - Is this patch just for our Windows VBR server…? Are there any pre reqs. Going through the setup of the .exe from the ISO there are no checks and no reboot required, this was tested installed on a non Veeam server which may not give the correct results…?Thanks in advance Tony

Just installed brand new Widnows 10 VM, installed 12.1 veeam backup and replication but what ever I do this does not work.  Checked and all services are running  any thoughts would be much appreciated. 

Hi, this is my first time posting on here - hoping to get some advice from the wonderful community!I have been busy studying for the VMCE exam and I’m close to the point where I am ready to take the exam. I was doing some research into where/how I book the exam and I came across this on the Veeam website:This is very unfortunate timing on my part, but I was wondering if anybody could tell me what is replacing this exam? Have I wasted months of my time prepping for an exam that is being retired? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello Veeam Community,I’m performing a restore process in Veeam Backup for Google Cloud and encountered an issue after the data restoration phase. Here are the key log details:  The disk restore completed successfully, but the instance restore failed due to snapshot creation error. Question:Has anyone faced this issue in GCP restores? What could cause snapshot creation to fail after disk restoration? Any recommended troubleshooting steps or permissions to check?

We have licensed Veeam via Socket License and want to Backup our Windows DCs from a different Console than the Rest.They are running on the same ESXI Hosts as the other VMs we already Backup.Is this possible with our license?

Hello Community!  I am new to Veeam (last used 7 years ago, so might as well be new). Here is my current setup:  I have two Mini PC’s running Proxmox as the “Compute”.They are connected over 10GB  to a different server running TrueNAS, via iSCSI.So the VM “Data” does not actually reside on the Proxmox machine, it just acts as the compute side. Now, I have installed Veeam on a Barebones Windows machine.  I configured the Veeam software to connect to the Proxmox servers (success) and it installed the proxy’s.First backup tested was successful, but the others failed.They show “succeeded” but with “Warnings” and no actual data has been backed up.“disk scsi0 has been skipped due to unsupported storage type” I find this odd since the storage type on the successful backup is the same as the other VM’s I am running, (Three Ubuntu VM’s & Home Assistant OS). Any insight would be appreciated!

I just updated the Veeam Agent version to 6.3.2.1302 on my home computer. I don't use a server because it's a single machine with a single backup job, although I do use the Community Edition in other environments.I re-burned the recovery agent to a USB drive, and when I tested it, neither the keyboard nor the mouse worked. The BIOS recognizes them fine, but when the agent starts loading, it disconnects them.I've tried having up to three different keyboards connected to different USB drives, and re-burning the USB drive four times, making sure the option to copy drivers is enabled, but nothing seems to work. I've never had this problem on this computer before.With this and the previous bug that prevented me from recovering backups from a network drive, which has since been fixed, I'm starting to think I spend more time trying to fix Veeam errors than actually using it.Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, new install of veeam with a dell poweredge server and powerstore connected via iSCSI. this will be a hardened repo.Has anyone tested the optimal settings for Veeam including immutability against the powerstore so the powerstore can still perform the data reduction tasks? 

I have VBR installed in Site-B to backup VM under hyper-v and vmware in Site-A.Connection from Site-B to Site-A using ipsec vpn site to site with 2 internet link for redundant.The VPN have same policy for both connections. When the link use primary link then the VBR can backup the VM but if the primary link and connection switched to the backup link then i got error only for Vmware when using backup proxy.I try to ping from the backup proxy in Site-A then the proxy is able to reach HS-W2019.This error mean the backup proxy is not able to connect to the HS-W2K19 on port 2503? Error: Failed to connect to the endpoint [HS-W2K19:2503]. I have recently installed the Scale Computing plugin into our Veeam B&R 12.3.2 server. If we are currently using Microsoft Agent Backups, is there a migration path to moving to direct VM guest backups via the Scale plugin? If not, can I utilize VM guest backups via Scale plugins for 'new' guest servers and also back up pre-existing servers using the Microsoft Agent method?

I'm trying to add an Openshift hosted  k10(7.0.7) instance deployed via Operator to Veeam B&R(12.2.0.33.4). Dashboard is exposed correctly via Route and I am able to access it and login in my browser.But when I try to add it in Veeam B&R server, an errror appears : Kasten service is unavailable. When looking at Veeam Kasten plugin logs: <2dac> Error    REQUEST FOR RESPONSE GET https://kasten.apps…../:443/k10/vbrintegrationapi-svc/v0/server[06.09.2024 09:48:09] <6bc9> Error    VB connection validation failed[06.09.2024 09:48:09] <6bc9> Error    Kasten service is unavailable. (System.Exception) Has anyone encounetered something similar ?
