Hi All

I’m currently assisting a client with a Veeam ONE deployment and they would like to send alarm notifications directly to Telegram in addition to the standard email alerts.

Has anyone successfully implemented this type of integration?

  • What method did you use?

  • Was it done specifically with Veeam ONE or through Veeam Backup & Replication events?

  • Has anyone tested or confirmed that it still works with Veeam 13?

From what I have found it is possible, by default Veeam ONE natively supports email and SNMP notifications, with other integrations typically handled through scripts or external tools.
I’m trying to confirm real-world experiences and any recommended approaches before implementing it for the client.

Any guidance, scripts, or best-practice recommendations would be appreciated.

Hello team, probably this method still works without any issue: https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-one-f28/how-to-send-notifications-to-telegram-t82568.html

I would think @jorge.delacruz might be able to chime in here.  Never used telegram myself.

I knew you would know who would be best. I will wait to see what he says because we have repeatedly got stuck.

We did try that but had intermittent issues let me go through it again and see if we have missed something

I am always reluctant to have notifications on my phone, unless they are very serious. I spend more time clearing out notifications than actually doing my work😂

out of curiosity what kind of issues? TG’s bot support is pretty phenomenal, and would imagine it’s pretty simple to build your own daily reports and even simple controls if you wanted it.

Hi @ddomask
Let me get the exact errors from him (Will post here) and then try their bot support and see if that works.

Hmm...this is an interesting implementation. Didn’t really think about that. Like you @Jonty ...I really wouldn’t want to get notified about everything all day (on my phone) 😂 Curious how this fares out.

Will let you know. I am sure my clever guys will get it to work.

I think for some use cases a telegram bot would work very well with Veeam One, at least for anyone inclined to want to work on their backup infrastructure from their phone / personal computer.

For those who don’t know how tg bots work, set up telegram and try their stickers bot: https://telegram.me/stickers

Try making a sticker pack just to see how the bot interaction works, and I imagine you will think of some scenarios where a group chat with a vOne Telegram bot maybe makes sense and what features you’d want the bot to be able to relay.

If your team is already heavy into telegram for whatever reason, it would make a nice addition.

The beauty of VONE would be that you can add the notification connector, only to the most critical alarms of all. Like for example a missing RPO for your crown jewels VMs, that I would probable to receive in Telegram.
