I have backed up a Windows 11 PC using Veeam Agent for Windows. I would like to restore that backup to a USB Drive, so then I can just boot Windows up off the USB.I created a Veeam Recovery Media USB, but when I boot up off it and select BMR and select the backup file, my USB drive that I want to restore to, does not come up in the destination drive selection screen, it is not listed at all.I can see the drive if I go to a Command Prompt, but cannot see it in the Veeam BMR Interface. Is there anyway possible to restore the backup to the USB drive. Could it somehow be done using command line utilities ?Thanks.
HelloTell me, veeam has the ability to backup local SharePoint (on-prem), the databases for sharepoint are used sql cluster, the databases are similar to on-prem, how to properly backup and restore data.I find mostly information about SharePoint365.
Hello Veeam Community,I’m working with Veeam and need clarification on how SLA compliance is calculated in the following scenario:I have an SLA setup with the following settings:RPO (Recovery Point Objective): 8 hoursRTO (Recovery Time Objective): 8 hoursFor a backup job that runs for 24 hours, the results were as follows:20 backup jobs finished within the 8-hour RPO.2 backup jobs took 9 hours to complete (missed the RPO by 1 hour).2 backup jobs failed (no backup completed for these VMs).How does Veeam One calculate RPO compliance in this scenario?
VBR 12.3 had a pretty big payload across our alliance partners. One of those is the NetApp with the ONTAP SnapDiff API. This is a native change file tracking capability built into the ONTAP OS (differencing engine). This will help customers reduce the amount of time it takes for a NAS backup with changes to complete. This improvement was highly requested by our customers. It is easy to enable when you are adding an “Unstructured Data source” in VBR see link and figure 1 below. Once enabled, you will see messages in the job log on incremental backups figure 2. Please spread the word to your ONTAP customers. This is a v1 version of SnapDiiff more features coming (TBD)😀.Adding Enterprise Storage System as NAS Filer Figure 1 Figure 2Note: There are a few restrictions mentioned in the link above listed below.Native changed files tracking (CFT) is not supported for NetApp ONTAP versions from 9.10.1 to 9.10.1P10. Native changed files tracking (CFT) is not supported for NetApp ONTAP FlexGroup

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v8.1 brings several important updates designed to boost performance, security, and flexibility. This latest release enhances the backup process for Microsoft 365 environments, simplifying data protection for critical services like Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. Let’s explore the new features in v8.1 and why they’re essential for businesses.Key Features of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v8.1Proxy Pools for Enhanced Efficiency One of the standout features of Veeam Backup for M365 v8.1 is the new proxy pool functionality. Proxy pools distribute backup processing across multiple proxies, which leads to improved efficiency and faster backup times. This feature is especially beneficial in large environments, as it ensures backup jobs can be processed more effectively, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall performance. Linux Proxy Support With the addition of Linux-based backup proxies, Veeam has introduced more flexibility when
Hello, We have Veeam O365 5b (5.0.1.225). By mistake we enabled the backup job for the entire organization, so that means it includes Sharepoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc. and now our Repository disk is full.We need to do a clean-up of the repository disk, in order to leave just emails (users, groups, shared mailboxes, archives, etc.) and delete all data of Sharepoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc. Finally create a job only for emails (users, groups, shared mailboxes, archives, etc.)How can I do that? Thanks for your help, Omar De Souza.
Hi Community,I want to post a question on the R&D Forum, but I see no option to do it, I Also tried to send a message, but the system doesn’t allow me to do it probably because I’m not an active member.Does anyone knows how to fix it?

I have a tape library with 48 slots. The file to tape jobs all run smoothly as long as the tapes that are summarized in the media pool and linked to the file to tape jobs are in the slots of the tape library _before starting_ the job. That worked fine as long as I left all the tapes for the respective job in the tape library, even if the job was finished or I had switched off the tape library. The reason at the time was that I didn't really have an external storage option for all 127 LTO tapes. So up until then I always left at least the 24 tapes for the 3rd offline repository in the library, as shown in the example. But since that is anything but right for fire safety reasons, I only noticed it now, after I no longer leave any tapes in the library except for the cleaning tape. Now I have the following banal problem:as you can see in the screenshots, the job starts. The tape library is empty, and so are the drives. Now I assume that Veeam knows which tapes are needed after the job initiali
The software we use to apply windows updates creates a VM snapshot prior to installation. Having that snapshot on the VMs then cause the backup jobs to fail. I think this is a known issue and we have just disabled the backup jobs for a day or so until we remove the snapshot. Im just verifying that Veeam doesnt like there to be snapshot on the vm and should be avoided when possible or am I doing something wrong. We use storage integration and NOT hot add type backups.
Hey Folks, just curious if its a bug or working as intended: It’s a brand new VBR and VBEM environment (V12.3) on a customer site. Currently it’s in onboarding/configuration phase. We have configured Roles, MFA and stuff like that. Currently the local user veeam-administrator is marked as a Service Account - so for this specific account, no MFA is required. We use this Account for making the initial connection between Enterprise Manager and VBR. After entering the required informations, we get the error message: Six-digit confirmation code is required. As you can see in the User & Roles section within VBR, its correct marked as a Service-Account. Solution (or workaround) ℹ️So my next step was to temporary disable the whole MFA function within VBR. After that, connecting VBEM with VBR is working as expected. Re-enabling MFA in VBR after that, was not a problem at all and VBEM can further communicate with VBR, as it’s on certificate-based authentication. I didn’t find informati
Morning Veeam Gnu’s ;)Got a fiddly one that I can’t figure out.Veeam One server sits in DR Datacentre. If the link between the Prod and DR datacentre goes wobbly, Veeam One loses its connection and we start to get spurious reports such as snapshots that no longer exist on VMs but still appear in the report. The fix is odd - retype the service account password in Virtual Centre and retry the connection. Is there reg key where I can turn down the sensitivity of Veeam One for the VC connection ? Thanks Phil

I am happy to announce that I am preparing a new book, the topic is “Design and Best Practices of HCI”. In this book, the reader can find the design and best practices of HCI. And I also added the contents of data protection into this book, Veeam VBR v11 is one of the solutions. After this book, you will learn the total solution of “HCI + Backup + DR”. Please stay tuned.
There was a very comprehensive forum post https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/deprecated-and-discontinued-features-for-our-2025-release-t97087.html but I want to provide a quick summery of Changes coming in V13 (H2 2025) to support planning efforts. As you prepare, it’s advisable to phase out deprecated features and prioritize the removal of discontinued ones.Phasing out underused features allows Veeam to focus resources on areas that provide the most value, enhancing overall product quality. Our goal is to streamline maintenance by removing features that are costly to support, rarely used, or contribute to stability issues.Deprecated FeaturesThe following features will be unavailable in new V13 installations or for newly created jobs, but will remain functional for upgraded installations. These features will be fully removed in V14:Veeam Backup & ReplicationReversed incremental backup mode Retention based on restore points (only time-based retention will be supp
