Can we do SOBR config , by selecting only performance tier repo and AWS Glacier repo . No capacity tier. If SOBR not possible then can we take primary backup on Local disk and backup copy to glacier repo.

Can we do SOBR config  , by selecting only  performance tier repo and AWS Glacier repo . No capacity tier.

You need to have the Capacity tier for AWS in order to have the Archive tier work.  So, you cannot do what you want.

Yes, you can do the Backup Copy to the Glacier repository if using v12.

@SantoshP yes you can provided your performance tier is an AWS extent

Archive tier is an additional tier of storage that can be attached to a scale-out backup repository. You can transport data to the archive tier for archive storage from the following extents:

  • From performance extents that consist of Amazon S3 or Microsoft Azure  object storage repositories.
  • From capacity extents.
