Shed somelight on how Veeam will help Kafka,Docker,Websub,PostgreSQL,Kubernetes,Kibana 

anyone have experience with SOBR using a de-dupe device , then offloading to capacity tier ?so local backups landing in performance tier of SOBR, but then moved/copied to capacity tier, best practise is to disable Veeam inline de-dupe, so when moving/copying data to capacity tier, is de-dupe still disabled?

Im rein privaten Umfeld (keine Kundendaten, kommerziellen Produkte etc.) lief eine wöchentliche Sicherung eines kleinen Debian-Servers (x86 Architektur) problemlos (siehe zwei letzten Zeilen):eine bisher erfolgreiche Sicherung sieht im Log so aus:plötzlich kommt es jedoch zu Fehlern mit folgendem Log: es hat sich weder am Ziel, noch am Netz, noch am User (nur root, auch darunter installiert) nichts geändert. Im Rahmen der Erstellung des Jobs wird auch das Ziel und das Recht des Nutzer (z.B. bei SMB) geprüft und alles ist fein. Nur der eigentliche Sicherungsauftrag schlägt fehl.Ich habe es auch per NFS zum Ziel (ein NAS im lokalen Netz gleich daneben) probiert, hier stimmt mit den Rechten und dem Ziel auch alles, aber wieder kann ein volume nicht erzeugt werden :-(Warum gelang es dem veeam-Client am 7.10.22 und danach nicht mehr? Had a client contact me this morning that is getting corruption errors on their backup copy jobs to the performance tier for their SOBR, but data appears to be making it out to their capacity tier, Wasabi, as far as they know (I didn’t check available restore points on that tier, but for sure the data is not sitting on the performance tier when I look at that filesystem).Background configuration is that they are using in both their primary and secondary datacenters a Synology NAS that is connected to their Windows Repo server as an RDM disk presented via ISCSI to their ESXI hosts, volume is formatted REFS, 64k blocks, the usual.  I realize that NAS’s are less than desirable, and my standard procedure is now to no longer use REFS when using a NAS as the backing array, but this is where we’re at.  I will point out that another copy job, not going to a SOBR but to the same NAS is copying data successfully.  I can’t say for sure off the top of my head if it’s the same volume or if this is

As we’re getting close to the end of the year, I’m curious if anyone has heard anything about a new VMCE exam. I passed the 2021 in Dec last yr. From my recollection, I thought the exam only lasts 1yr. But, if there’s not a new exam, or is severely close to being released at the end of the yr, isn’t that cutting it a bit too close for those of us who need/want to renew?Thanks.

Hi all,we are running a Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 environment. We are using NTFS volumes formatted with 4KB cluster size, according to Veeam best practices (s. https://bp.veeam.com/vbo/guide/buildconfig/proxy-repo.html). Every job has it’s own repository and multiple repositories reside on the same NTFS lun.Now we are running into the problem, that some luns reach 16TB size. Due to the cluster size of 4KB we are not able to expand further.We now need to migrate some of the repositories and I have two questions about that:Should we migrate to luns with a bigger cluster size? What are the side effects of that? What’s your preferred way to migrate? The best way I know is to copy the repo contents with robocopy, create a new repo pointing to the new location and then change backup job target to the new repo. Unfortunately that implicates stopping Veeam services while copying, because otherwise all of the jet dbs are locked… Is there a better way? Or will be in v6?Thank you for your in

Hi all,im new to K10 doing POC to check all the features if we will adopt this solution for our needs or not. Have run in this situation, when i'm able to backup apps using pv/pvc, restore them in the same cluster, but unable to restore them in a different cluster with k10restore. Both clusters are setup in the same way, using the same scripts. Hello, I started a snapshot restore that doesn’t complete nor fail within few minutes.I’ve tried to cancel it using “Cancel Action” button but the job continue running (not completing nor failling). In the logs container, I’ve seen the following informations:“Internal error occurred: {"message":"Failed to get jobs for manifest"}”“Null action details returned to ActionCard for kasten-10-*****”“Failed to get details for the Action” Is it possible to force kill the job in some way to making it fail? Thank you for your answer !

I have two data center sites, one in Indianapolis and the other in Olympia. We have Dell Data Domains at both sites as our backup storage. I am currently in the process of moving our cloud connect storage from an old HydraSTOR to the Dell Data Domain. With the hydraSTOR I was able to seed backup copy data from a portable NAS directly onto the cloud connect repository as it was presented as a CIFS share. With the Data Domain it is using something called ddboost and I’m not sure how to run a copy job to import that initial backup copy data onto the Dell Data Domain. Hi,we are moving a lot of environments to Azure cloud and we already have 150 Blob storage containers configured to make the backups using Azure Backup. The problem is that they offer only 300 days of retention policy and i need more time for LTR and granular backups (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) for compliance and governance purposes. As we are studying to move the backup workloads to VAB and VBR at azure, but we felt that this feature for blob storage container its missing in the VEEAM tools for Azure.This amount of blob storage container it is just the begining, because aplications moved to Azure will use their individual storage account, instead of using a centralized file server to persistent data.Thanks a lot and hope you guys help us with this request.   

Hi colleagues,  I’m wondering, whether there is a solution to backup a machine with Veeam Agent to multiple HDD disks. Unfortunately, the available disk size is below the machine size, which means the backup would need to “overlap” to the 2nd disk. Is this somehow possible? BestManuel

I have already configured some backup jobs for SQL database. Backups go to dell datadomain. I would like to copy full backups to azure blob storage. How can I do it without adding performance tier to scale-out repository? Is it possible?

has anyone used the VBR built in file explorer to move large amounts of data, talking over 300TB?If the transfer is interrupted, does it resume the file transfer?

Can someone please explain the relationship between this Community Hub and what’s now called Veeam R&D Forums? The email from there said “all of your existing forum posts will be counted towards your Veeam Legends score as soon as the corresponding integrations are put in place”. How will the two accounts be linked to do that?When I first logged in here, some saved credentials were in the username and password. Same username I use for the main website, so I clicked to log in, and it worked. But I use different credentials for the forum.And if my main website credentials worked here, are they actually linked? If I change the main website password, does that change it for here? 

I'm trying to recover files in my backup using console -> Restore guest files -> Microsoft Windows...and it is giving the following message:- Connection Problems: No connections can be made because the target machine has actively refused them.and then another window opens with the following error:- Mount wasn't foundUntil last month it was working normally. Interesting Scenario here.  I have a VERY isolated environment separate from my production environment.  The SAN is the only thing that shared between environments. No networking at all. Is there any license wizards in here who could tell me if this is supported, or if the following would be against the Veeam license rules?  In this isolated environment we don’t have Veeam.  We are in the process migrating all of those servers to our production environment , but I’d like to archive one to tape before hand to free up 50TBIf I were to do a storage snapshot of the VM’s volume from within Veeam (Same SAN) , I could then run an instant recovery to our production environment. While its running from the Storage Snapshot in our production environment, I’d like to do a VeeamZip, then export it to tape from the VeeamZip. It should be no different than exporting to OVF and importing it into production from vCenter which wouldn’t be against any license rules and it does save me moving 50TB 2 times

On my esxi 7.0 cluster I’ve added a couple of VMs for testing. Having had B&R configured to backup entire hosts (with some VM exceptions) it obviously backed up these test VMs. I did not notice this change, since I’ve configured Veeam to not email me on successful backups.Over the next days I removed these VMs. By doing so, Veeam completed to produce successful backups but today by accident I’ve noticed that it adds a single line message of the form “XXXX is no longer processed by this job. Make sure this change is intentional.”Two questions:These last jobs were still successful. Therefore I’ve received no e-mail for them (even if I did, I’d tend to overlook content for jobs that ran without hitches). Would it be better to have this type of a job end with a warning exit code, instead of a success one? How can I avoid having this message in the next backups? Should I edit the job and, if so, edit it how exactly?

I’m testing restore process from azure blob storage to azure vm. Here is my current configuration: VBR11 installed from market place : Standard_F4s_v2Azure proxy VM :Standard_F4s_v2Azure blob storage where backup of vm sits: PremiumI restore vm to another Standard_F4s_v2 and maximum speed what I get is… 150MB/s Am I missing some configuration or is it an azure limitation?
