Can’t find an exact answer to this scenario. Is it possible to run a Linux vm (Ubuntu) on a synology (via VMM), and expose (or give access to) the underlying storage to the vm so that we can use the immutable feature?example:1: 40tb storage in one volume2: ubuntu vm having access to that storage somehow (I’m unfamiliar with vms aim synology)3: somehow configuring the veeam server to point to the Ubuntu vm storage so that it can use immutability

All snapshots and actions succeed on my policy run yet the policy is marked Failed and there is no place I can find an error message at the policy level. How can I troubleshoot?

Design question, how to not overload the firewall.Customer has a physical B&R server on LAN1, and a physical Linux Hardened Repo on LAN1.They also have like 100 Physical servers on LAN2, 3 and 4.Traffic goes through the firewall obviously, and the fear is that it will overload it, affecting production.Since we can’t use Proxy Servers for Agent backups (no such thing apparently), how can I avoid pulling the traffic through the Firewall?The B&R Server and LHR are 10Gbit and use tagged VLANs, so I can quite simply add VLAN2,3,4 to the VLAN trunk and give them a link into the Agent VLANs. Will that work? Do I need to add both the B&R server and the LHR, or just the LHR? Can an LHR have several IP’s like that and still work?  Will the traffic go from the agent directly to the LHR or via the B&R server?Other ideas welcome...Thanks!

Saving a policy that (1) selects applications By Labels (2) has Snapshot Cluster-Scoped Resources doesn’t behave as expected.Expected:Labels remain unchanged. Snapshot Cluster-Scoped Resources remains checked. Applications page recognizes that Cluster-Scoped Resources policy exists.Actual:K10 adds a label k10.kasten.io/appNamespace=kasten-io-cluster to the label list. Snapshot Cluster-Scoped Resources is changed to unchecked. Applications page does not recognize that a Cluster-Scoped Resources policy exists. Policy fails even though all listed actions complete successfully.

Hey guys,I have a clarification on veeam cloud connect terms. Is cloud connect the service provider ? why do you need cloud connect when we can backup and store workloads in cloud?

One of my clients uses Veeam B&R for backing up 43 VMs.  It’s working great. Now I’m being asked for a report on each VM, how often it’s backed up, how many restore points are kept and for how long we keep the backup of the VM. As I am new to ONE reporting, I’m hoping someone here can tell me what report I need from the canned reports or whether or not I need to create a custom report, and maybe how. Thank you! NVM...I figured it out.  Pretty sweet reporting tools in ONE.

Hi, team I need some advice. We have a client that we need to do a quarterly full backup for. We would like to run an active full to a USB attached drive that will be rotated out each quarter. Each USB drive will be designated for a specific quarter (i.e. USB Quarter 1, Quarter 2, etc). This job will only run once per quarter and we would like each run to be a full backup. What is the best way to accomplish this in VBR 11a?

Hey Guys,In a customer environment where I deployed Veeam, I setup azure blob and added as SOBR, I found that in backup server used space for azure blob is 597 GB but in azure portal it is shown to be 1.8 TB. I am running two backups(file and VM). Can anyone tell what could be wrong?

Can anyone tell why veeam doesn't provide database backup such as MSSQL? There are many backup softwares that can backup only database so how is veeam different from them? 

Hi @all,i am new by veeam. I have installed the community edition and will testing backup. Next week i have a tech demo with a veeam consult for full version. But now i will testing the free funktions, and i have added my S3 Bucket. The connections to Amazon S3 works, but when i will configure a backup job, i cannot choose the s3 Storage as backup destination. It there a limit function for this storage in the communitiy edition?Many thanks forwards Stefan

Hello,a customer has the problem that his VBR server has gotten very slow the last days and since today some agent and plugin jobs are failing (and yes, agent and plugin jobs only are failing, no VM backup jobs...).I had a look at the server and it has hit the 10GB constraint of the the MS SQL express edition for the database size…Is there a procedure to shrink the database? For example to delete the session history or something else?The setting for the History under General Options is  a option how much entries are shown in the console but not how many entries are saved in the db.Any ideas? 🤔

I have a v11a server backing up @80 servers to an on-site ALL FLASH ARRAY connected at 40Gbps. Does a nightly job without any issues. But it has a 7 day retention policy and then we copy out to a DROBO appliance which is connected at 1Gbps. Since it is only doing the copy job work, no problem.We recently needed to do some file restores and found out that the restore speeds were very slow off of that device @ 10Mbps which is pretty much unusable. So my question to the community is this. What would be a good device / configuration to be able to keep my GFS , older, backups on locally that would offer a reasonable cost / capacity / data protection? I looked into using the S3 cloud as well and the upload speeds were terrible for me, like 8Mbps and download at 75Mbps. If I have to restore  500GB of files that would be way to long.  Almost al of my servers are Virtual in VMWare running in a CISCO UCS Chassis connected at 10Gbps to the switch. What are the success story configurations? I look

VMware maxes out at 65TB, so we are running out of space on this backup and we don’t know what route to go in terms of setup. Is SOBR the preferred backup infrastructure for a VM of this size?

K10 4.5.2 K8S 1.22.3 Redhat Openshift 4.9.12K10 can make workload snapshot, but can noatpt make Application Components snapshot and Application Configuration snapshot.
