For example, you add a VM with 4 disks to a job and assign a backup proxy that can process maximum 2 tasks concurrently for the job. In this case, Veeam Backup & Replication will create 4 tasks (1 task per each VM disk) and start processing 2 tasks in parallel. The other 2 tasks will be pending.  ThanksFederico 

What are the best practices for agent base Linux systems data backups of larger than 2TB volume without any failure? As well as backup of NFS volume?

We had a firm that upgraded our veeam to v 11.In the same time, we replace the SAN.The original SAN that was used for backup was replaced by the new unit.The original SAN was then used for the copy, and the copy SAN not use anymore.It appear that we lost all 95% of restore point that we had before cause of a disk space problem that corrupt the file for most jobs in the server. Now we only have one month of restore point cause. we lost everything else. We think that it was cause of a bad way to upgrade, but the consulting firm continue to claim that it was the disk space problem that caused the loss of six-month  backup.is it possible that the disk space corrupt all the restore point and there is no way to recover the old backup or maybe from our old copy SAN that is still unused since the migration?Thanks for your help. 

Hey all, getting ready to setup VDRO in the lab and production, but I have questions on the location of the vCenter server.  Currently, my vCenter is located in the primary site, but wondering if it should be instead setup at the recovery site, or if I should have HA or ELM configured so that there is a second vCenter setup at the recovery site.  ELM doesn’t sound as useful for this situation, but HA may work and there is low enough latency between the primary and recovery sites to support HA.  That said, I was hoping to the put the witness at our third site, but latency is higher to that location so that may not work.  Anyhow, I know I need to get my VBR backup server moved to the recovery site (was already on my list) but what’s considered the best practice here?

Hallo zusammen,ich sichere seit einiger Zeit einen Linux-Rechner mit Hilfe des Veeam Agent für Linux auf ein shared Folder, der auf einer Qnap liegt.Jetzt ist auf diesen Linux-Rechner eine Anwendung gekommen, die auf einer mySQL Datenbank basiert.Die Sicherung läuft weiterhin problemlos, das recovern auch.Allerdings bekomme ich beim booten des recoverten Rechners Fehlermeldungen bezüglich der Konsistenz der Datenbank. Die Datenbank ist zwar in 95% der Fälle in der Lage die Datenbankfiles zu reparieren, aber eben nicht in 100% der Fälle.Gibt es mit dem Linux-Agent die Möglichkeit eine mySQL Datenbank konsistent zu sichern?

Dear concern, we have one server where we had a previous version (9.5 U4b) of Veeam running for some tests on. However we’ve never really used it until now. That time veeam was removed from the system however it seems not completely. While trying to install version 11 on this particular server, we are now getting an error message, telling that usage of DB for VeeamBackup is not possible as it has been created with an older version of veeam. Indeed there are still two DB services running. What is the best way to get this clean as we will use this server to run as our B/R server in the future but of course on main latest. The goal is to have a clean installation of veeam 11 now in order to reduce future problems in case of any migration is necessary for a new version. thanks and best regards Stephan

Hi, quick question. We are moving to M365 for email. Our Veeam infrastructure will remain on-premise. Per Veeam literature, says that I can backup my 365 mailboxes to any location, inclusive of on-premises. If we backup our 365 mbxs back down to our local infrastructure, will there be any egress bandwidth costs assessed by Microsoft? So if I have 1TB database now on-prem, and we move that to M365, for that very first backup, should I expect Microsoft to assess some bandwidth costs for that 1TB pull? Moreover, for any subsequent backups where presumably only deltas from the prior are processed, will I see transport costs there too?Thank you in advance.Cheers.

Hi,Task is to backup  our customers Sharepoint365  to Azure storage.Customer is without on premise solutions except bunch of laptops, no mailboxes are used (mail is hosted elsewhere) , so plan is to use “Veeam backup for MS 365” from Azure marketplace, some blob storage and licenses of course. My question is : if i backup only Sharepoint  how much licences do i need?Regards, Drazen

Hello Team,We have a Veeam Backup & Replication Version 11. The purpose is to replicate the on-premise VMware based VMs to DR location (In this case DR location is VMware Based Cloud). So in on-premise we have got primary VBR instance running, this is mainly to do the backup jobs of VMs and store it locally. In Cloud we have got Secondary VBR (enabled source proxy on this) instance running, this is used to do the replication of VMs from on-premise to cloud. We also have Veeam Enterprise Manager to manage these two primary & secondary VBR instance. We notice that the failback is taking lot of time even when the data is not changed much (during test failover operation for few mins as well), the bandwidth between the on-premise and cloud is 100mbps via VPN. Example: If we do a failover of test VM (Size 100GB) for few mins and then do failback, the failback takes more than an hour to complete.We also noticed during the failback Veeam reads all the hard disks attached to VMs, this p

Hi there,I’ve created a backup repo in my Veeam for 365 backups and also specified an extent to offload to Azure:Since that’s live I have no backup data on my local disks other than some sort of a cache… looks like everything has been pushed to Azure. Is there a way to still have local backups and then offload to Azure like we do with Veeam B&R ?Thank you.
