Running Veeam free version for Linux on Dell Optiplex 5060, OS is Linux Mint Mate 20.3.  Just setting up this machine and moving from an older Dell pc.  In old pc, ran Veeam free version for years of weekly b/u’s, no issues.  Veeam downloaded and installed via Synaptic and set for full system image, target is ext. HDD, USB connection to computer.In new machine, 5 b/u’s have failed, see s/shot.  Targets were 2 different 1tb ext. disks,  each formatted to FAT32, exFAT, and then EXT4.  One of the disks is the same one used for the backup chain in the old pc, no problems..  All failed attempts show the same bottleneck, “source” after running for 2 to 8 minutes.  Not clear what to do here since no previous snags w/ Veeam.   Any suggestions appreciated! 

If we migrate the insider protection folder to another storage location, does Veeam still track that data, for the insider protection retention (7days)?

Hello, Customer have an existing veeam on prem setup plus tape, they do manually  tape vaulting - they manually transfer the tape from HO to dr site (vaulting site).What is the best and seamless approach so that customer no need to go to Dr site to do vaulting.Can we relocate the Tape from HO to Dr, setup veeam resources (server and storage) and have copy/move from HO to Dr then do the tape backup jobs?  Thanks

Does anyone have a network diagram of how to restore through a proxy and without, with ports and protocols?

I tried to update veeam 5.0... but it didn't work. I tried to install the patch and it didn't work. I uninstalled version 5 to install version 6 and it didn't work. I tried to install version 6 on two other stations and it still does not work. I get a windows installer popup when I try to install VEEAM and then it crashes. can you help me please.

I installed in as sandbox environment, all is working but getting ‘unable to validate license’. How do I activate the free 5 node license? 

Good afternoon Group.It is the first time that I am going to install veeam with a client, I have been reading a lot of the documentation and watching the how to videos, but I can't find anywhere that recommends me how to partition all the installation paths and on which disks to put the installation paths for 100 VMs. From what I've read, it would be something like this: 1.-Installation folder at least 40 GB in path A, in this path the database is installed, wouldn't it be better to install the database in another path? 2.-Write cache folder of at least 10 Gb in SSD in path B:? 3.-Guest Catalog Folder, on SSD in path D:, how much space? Hopefully someone can give me their recommendation.Thanks in advance.

Buenas tardes Grupo. Es la primera vez que voy a instalar veeam con un cliente, he estado leyendo bastante la documentación y viendo los videos de how to, pero no encuentro algún lado que me recomiende como particionar todas las rutas de instalación y en que discos poner las rutas de instalación del veeam server para 100 VM. Por lo que he leído, seria algo asi: 1.-¿Installation folder al menos de 40 GB en el path A, en esta ruta se instala la base de datos, no seria mejor instalar la base en otra ruta? 2.-¿Write cache folder de al menos 10 Gb en SSD en el path B:? 3.-¿Guest Catalog Folder, en SSD en el path D:, de cuanto espacio? Ojalá y alguien me pueda dar su recomendación.Gracias de antemano.   

I have deployed a sample EFS app in an AWS EKS cluster as described in the AWS documentation. I’m using dynamic provisioning & the sample app is deployed to a dedicated namespace efs-app. The pod is running as expected & writing data to the EFS file system.I created a manual snapshot of this app from the Kasten dashboard & exported it to S3. As described in Kasten documentation, Kasten used the Shareable Volume Backup and Restore mechanism to backup the contents of the EFS file system. This was verified by observing the pods in the efs-app namespace as Kasten spun up a new pod, mounted the EFS volume & backed up its data.In another EKS cluster in another AWS region & another AWS account, I created an on-demand Kasten import profile & ran it to successfully import restore points for efs-app from S3. However, when I try restoring the app from the restore point, restore fails with the error:Job failed to be executed > Failure in planned phase > Failed to rest

Hi, can you help me figure out this scenario.Customer have a license for VBR version 11 with few instances.They want to backup their Azure VM’s and store the backups on their Azure blob or Azure Smb file share. So the plan is  to spin a vm instance on their azure,  install VBR on that new VM instance, add the license, add their VMs as managed server on the VBR, configure target backup repository as Network attached storage (SMB) or configure target backup repository as (Object Storage - Azure Blob).Note: License is for VBR version 11 and not for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure.Now the question is, what is the proper approach for this scenario?Can we add each vm instance from their azure as managed servers to be able to backup it up or do we have to connect through Veeam backup Microsoft azure appliance? (Note: Customer does not want to deploy Azure Appliance)Is adding Azure SMB share as backup repository supported? Can I directly point my backup to my target Azure Blob repository? 

Dear concern, I’m looking for a way (if even possible) to migrate a Windows Server 2012 Foundation(!) to an upgradable Windows Server 2012 Essentials or higher. Final goal is to get this system on a 2022 Essentials including all installed applications. The Server 2012 Foundation is not a DC !A direct upgrade of a Windows 2012 R2 Foundation to any other Windows Server version is imho not possible.Previous steps so far:New machine running main lates ESXi7.02 Migrate physical Server 2012 to VMware host. All test have been successful executed. Install Veeam Community main lates to the VM  Backup VMNow my question concerning the restore. Will this be done to an existing VM e.g. running on a Server 2016 Essentials or even higher? What restore method will be applicable?highly appreciate your comments/hintscheers

Exam xxx_Backup_2022-08-18T22018I refer to the last numbers. 2- I don't want to change the name of the backup job, I want to be able to edit or change the naming convention of the backup objects in the repository. like YYYY-MM-DD.

Me encuentro con que al parecer hay una limitación de lectura a un máximo de 10.000 ficheros por carpeta. Unable to enumerate files in folder x. Failed to get files into from host. SearchId ‘1’ MaxItemsNum: ‘10000’. Pregunto, hay forma de quitar esa limitación o de cambiarle el valor a un número más elevado? Gracias

Hello! I try to backup a namespace containing a deployment with the following resources: deployments, service, configmap, secrets, pvc/pv (storageclass rook and nfs). It seems that I have problems with the nfs storageclass: If I try to backup every ressource I get an error “storageclass not supported”. Thats no problem I thought, because I tried:  Excluding the pvc by name in the policy. But it got stuck in the phase “Snapshotting Application Components”  Can you help me out with this, its freaking me out.  Kubernetes 1.22 fresh installed K10 4.5.9

what is the best option to integrate nimble storage directly with veeam or to present it as disk on veeam servers and configure backup repository.considering backing up physical infra as well..
