I installed in as sandbox environment, all is working but getting ‘unable to validate license’. How do I activate the free 5 node license? 

Good afternoon Group.It is the first time that I am going to install veeam with a client, I have been reading a lot of the documentation and watching the how to videos, but I can't find anywhere that recommends me how to partition all the installation paths and on which disks to put the installation paths for 100 VMs. From what I've read, it would be something like this: 1.-Installation folder at least 40 GB in path A, in this path the database is installed, wouldn't it be better to install the database in another path? 2.-Write cache folder of at least 10 Gb in SSD in path B:? 3.-Guest Catalog Folder, on SSD in path D:, how much space? Hopefully someone can give me their recommendation.Thanks in advance.

Buenas tardes Grupo. Es la primera vez que voy a instalar veeam con un cliente, he estado leyendo bastante la documentación y viendo los videos de how to, pero no encuentro algún lado que me recomiende como particionar todas las rutas de instalación y en que discos poner las rutas de instalación del veeam server para 100 VM. Por lo que he leído, seria algo asi: 1.-¿Installation folder al menos de 40 GB en el path A, en esta ruta se instala la base de datos, no seria mejor instalar la base en otra ruta? 2.-¿Write cache folder de al menos 10 Gb en SSD en el path B:? 3.-¿Guest Catalog Folder, en SSD en el path D:, de cuanto espacio? Ojalá y alguien me pueda dar su recomendación.Gracias de antemano.   

I have deployed a sample EFS app in an AWS EKS cluster as described in the AWS documentation. I’m using dynamic provisioning & the sample app is deployed to a dedicated namespace efs-app. The pod is running as expected & writing data to the EFS file system.I created a manual snapshot of this app from the Kasten dashboard & exported it to S3. As described in Kasten documentation, Kasten used the Shareable Volume Backup and Restore mechanism to backup the contents of the EFS file system. This was verified by observing the pods in the efs-app namespace as Kasten spun up a new pod, mounted the EFS volume & backed up its data.In another EKS cluster in another AWS region & another AWS account, I created an on-demand Kasten import profile & ran it to successfully import restore points for efs-app from S3. However, when I try restoring the app from the restore point, restore fails with the error:Job failed to be executed > Failure in planned phase > Failed to rest

Hi, can you help me figure out this scenario.Customer have a license for VBR version 11 with few instances.They want to backup their Azure VM’s and store the backups on their Azure blob or Azure Smb file share. So the plan is  to spin a vm instance on their azure,  install VBR on that new VM instance, add the license, add their VMs as managed server on the VBR, configure target backup repository as Network attached storage (SMB) or configure target backup repository as (Object Storage - Azure Blob).Note: License is for VBR version 11 and not for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure.Now the question is, what is the proper approach for this scenario?Can we add each vm instance from their azure as managed servers to be able to backup it up or do we have to connect through Veeam backup Microsoft azure appliance? (Note: Customer does not want to deploy Azure Appliance)Is adding Azure SMB share as backup repository supported? Can I directly point my backup to my target Azure Blob repository? 

Dear concern, I’m looking for a way (if even possible) to migrate a Windows Server 2012 Foundation(!) to an upgradable Windows Server 2012 Essentials or higher. Final goal is to get this system on a 2022 Essentials including all installed applications. The Server 2012 Foundation is not a DC !A direct upgrade of a Windows 2012 R2 Foundation to any other Windows Server version is imho not possible.Previous steps so far:New machine running main lates ESXi7.02 Migrate physical Server 2012 to VMware host. All test have been successful executed. Install Veeam Community main lates to the VM  Backup VMNow my question concerning the restore. Will this be done to an existing VM e.g. running on a Server 2016 Essentials or even higher? What restore method will be applicable?highly appreciate your comments/hintscheers

Dear Veeam I need your help,1-I would like to know, How Veeam names each file. Exam xxx_Backup_2022-08-18T22018I refer to the last numbers. 2- I don't want to change the name of the backup job, I want to be able to edit or change the naming convention of the backup objects in the repository. like YYYY-MM-DD.

Me encuentro con que al parecer hay una limitación de lectura a un máximo de 10.000 ficheros por carpeta. Unable to enumerate files in folder x. Failed to get files into from host. SearchId ‘1’ MaxItemsNum: ‘10000’. Pregunto, hay forma de quitar esa limitación o de cambiarle el valor a un número más elevado? Gracias

Wasabi for S3 Storage (25TB capacity) (No physical server in the environment) Enterprise license editionI would like to use the StoreOnce on-premise as my long and deep backup storage say 6 months and only use Wasabi for disaster with say 1 month - 2 month retention on there.Have Production VMs that want offsite, Dev and QAS can stay onsite.If I only use a Backup Job with SOBR for offsite VM’s how do I get that level of retention onsite and that level offsite.Or do I have to stretch to BCJ with SOBR, but that increases data stored on the StoreOnce as near two copies or data stored. Thanks. Hello! I try to backup a namespace containing a deployment with the following resources: deployments, service, configmap, secrets, pvc/pv (storageclass rook and nfs). It seems that I have problems with the nfs storageclass: If I try to backup every ressource I get an error “storageclass not supported”. Thats no problem I thought, because I tried:  Excluding the pvc by name in the policy. But it got stuck in the phase “Snapshotting Application Components”  Can you help me out with this, its freaking me out.  Kubernetes 1.22 fresh installed K10 4.5.9

what is the best option to integrate nimble storage directly with veeam or to present it as disk on veeam servers and configure backup repository.considering backing up physical infra as well..

Daily Policy- Backup job runs every day, job schedule starts at 07:00 PM and must be finished before 06:00 AM.- Using the Forever forward incremental method- Backup defragment is done once a week- Backup Health Check is done once a week- Retention policy is set for 30 restore points2. Hi Community, I have configure my secondary backup location as aws-s3 object storage. previously I used virtual tape backup to aws via aws tape gateway. Hello,I have an interrogation, about how Veeam works with Forever forward  Incremtal backup job and immuability.I know that’s not possible to use this kind of job with an hardened repository, even if you try to configure it, Veeam will pop up an error message. But how it work with capacity tier with object lock enabled?Veeam doesn’t transfer all data block to the capacity tier but only the new data blocks and metadata from each new backup file. (System similar to ReFS/XFS). I read the documentation about block generation but it’s not really clear in my head.If someone have a schema that would be nice.thanks

Hi,We have just taken a trial of Veeam for AWS backup. It expires on the 11th of Sept so we want to get a licence for this product. Hello,I'm using Veeam 11 community edition.  I'm having trouble booting from the recovery media.  First of all the "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" is displayed in German.  When I do press a key the system hangs at a screen with the blue 4 pane window image, a MS Windows image.  I also noticed I don't get the option to include drivers when building the image. Please let me know if you have any ideas.Thank you,Frank 

how to find veeam run time logs while integration with azure and deploying appliance

I am attempting Connect to Repository in community edition to my Google Cloud account.  I have my access and secret keys and am able to connect to my bucket but do not see any folders listed when I browse so I am unable to complete adding the repository.  I made sure the folder was created before I created the secret keys and I have tried several attempts with new/different projects within G-cloud.  Any idea why it can see my bucket but not the folder?  I have given the service account within G-cloud owner rights. Thanks for any help or suggestions   

Hi,we have 4 different backup priorities and vCenter Tags which our VMs are assigned to. Now i would like to implement 3 different vCenter Tags for application-aware processing options. Unfortunatly i can’t remove the Prio4 Tag from aap settings, because it’s used for default. Whats happens if a VM has assigned 2 Tags in aap options? Is there some kind of hierarchy which option will be used? What would be best practise in this case?

Hi, I am the end user and currently subscribe to cloud connect from a service provider. I am running into an issue where I have totally crushed my bandwidth limits at my DC location because of backups. I would like to shift my backup traffic to use a different gateway, much like I am able to do with object storage, but I am not seeing an option for the service provider configuration to select a different gateway. Is the only option for my backup copies to go to the cloud connect provider through the Veeam server and not a different gateway?
