Hello guys, I wanted to create a topic on how migrate from MS SQL to PostgreSQL but I’m facing to an issue.I m following the procedure : https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/vbr_config_migrate_to_postgresql.html?ver=120At the “Target Database” step I choose “Database: PostgreSQL”Then I click to connect and I obtain the following message : For me I don’t have to create a database first, right? For me Veeam should proprose to create the database like this:Did someone else have try the migration process ?

Good dayHave anyone perhaps had this problem that I am experiencing now post upgrade to V12.1 and migrating DB to PostgreSQL 15.5-1.DB migration showed all tasks successful. When trying to open any job report it gives this error“invalid XML content” Thanks

I want to document all jobs.Is there a solution for this?First, how can these data be obtained, and secondly, is there a ready-made Excell template for this?I want to document all the jobs and if there is a solution that also documents the entire veeam backup structure, that would be great. Please provide any suggestions you have.

Hi there,We have an Elasticsearch application consisting of 3 nodes; each node is placed on a different host and has a separate PV bound. We’re using the following:Helm Chart to deploy the ES cluster: https://artifacthub.io/packages/helm/elastic/elasticsearch/7.16.3, K10 version is 6.5.1 the storageclass for PV provisioning is local-path-provisioner: https://github.com/rancher/local-path-provisioner (we’re not using CSI) Kubernetes 1.24 (RKE2 Distro)The Kanister Blueprint has been written to deal with the backup & restore of the ES app. The backup runs successfully, but when we want to perform a restore, the following problem occurs - executing a data-only or full restore - neither of them seems to work. The statefulset is scaled to 0, and the PVCs are deleted and recreated, but they are placed on the same host, which prevents the pod from being scheduled, since the pod anti-affinity rules cannot be fulfilled - pods would have to be scheduled on the same host.Is it possible to alte

Hi everyone, I am planning to add new SOBR for existing environment (x2 Hyper-V host actually) connecting to the tape library with simple deployment scenario. While we plan to add a new HPE StoreOnce to the infrastructure, is it possible to install the gateway server on the host?Or should it be installed on the backup server?

I have a Vsan Cluster with 3 ESXi (25Gb Network) and a vm with Veeam 12 and a physical Windows Repository connected with 20 Gb20 VMs must be backup , 3TB ca I am planning how much proxy I need, I am not sure if the proxy installed in the VM where B&R is installed is enough or should I install an additional proxy per Esxi?

Hi everyone,We’re using Veeam B&R 11 standard edition.  We are a small museum with a large repository of information of digitised versions of the collections - essentially a file server with multiple disks.  We had an issue whereby our largest server had to be reimported to VSphere and was picked up as a new VM by Veeam.  I’m looking for options to minimise WAN usage to seed our offsite backups of the large VM.Can I copy a new full backup of VM to a second site, scan the second site repo and start a parallel backup strategy there?  Essentially, the same full backup would be the first backup in two parallel backup trees.  The backup source is a single VM of approximately 40TB, so I would rather not run a full backup across our VPN.  I’m worried that Veeam will not like two repositories starting with the same data, if they ultimately diverge. Why would I not just run a copy job instead of backing up the same data twice?  The two sites have vastly different retention strategies, one be

Hey guysWe’re doing some VeeamZIPs and directly restore VMs them to a backup-NAS which is added in Veeam via SMB. Since beginning of the year (or even before. The last restore was made on the 30th November 2023) we’re not able to do this operation anymore. We’re getting the following error message: “Restore job failed Error: Cannot complete file creation operation.” The logs show the following: [05.01.2024 11:16:02.757] <01> Error Restore job has been failed[05.01.2024 11:16:02.757] <01> Error Make datastore directory failed, datacenter ref = datacenter-2, directory name = "[backupnas] backup20240103-xxx" (System.Exception)[05.01.2024 11:16:02.757] <01> Error bei Veeam.Backup.ViSoap.CSoapConnection.CreateDatastoreDirectory(String datacenterRef, String dirName)[05.01.2024 11:16:02.757] <01> Error bei Veeam.Backup.ViSoap.CSoapDatastore25.CreateDirectory(CSoapDatastoreDirectory parent, String relativePath)[05.01.2024 11:16:02.757]

Are Folder exclusions in NAS file share backup jobs case sensitive?

So I am attempting to restore files from offsite backup copy to a ServerB at the offsite. From the VBR console I choose to guest files restore from the backup Copy. Then I entered \\ServerB\x$ as the target location. However the restore is happening over the WAN. Any ideas?

Hi Folks,In my new role I have been added to a corporate membership at ComptiaISAO. To be honest I had no clue this even existed. The last time I dealt with anything comptia was when I passed the A+ and N+ exams back in… well never mind the year.I am a bit overwhelmed by the stream of security info/threat alerts and was wondering if anyone else here also has a membership. If so will you be going to Chicago in March to the event? If so please DM me as I will be there and so far I don’t know anyone who I have seen on the lists.

Hello veeam community! As we know, the VMCE v12 is comming soom and with that a new exam with new topics including building backup capabilities, restoring from backup and advanced repository functionalities, etc are coming too. But at this moment my questions is about VMCE 2021.Do you know how long we can still book the exam VMCE 2021?Do you think it's still worth trying to pass VMCE 2021 or its better wait for v12 exam?

Hello to allI removed the veeam B&R server from the domain, the enterprise manager server was also installed on the same server, and now I have this error in the enterprise manager.Thank you for your guidance.I also changed the iis settings but it didn't work

I’ve created a repository per the instructions from the documentation, but cannot select it for scheduled Configuration Backups. It’s displayed in the Repository list. Encryption, and immutability is enabled. Is there something else missing?

Hi, Our PKI cert has expired on our VCS server, and as a result the backups of the VMs are failing as Veeam can’t connect to the VCS.  Its going to take us a few days to get another cert generated and installed on the VCS - but is there any workaround we can do in the meantime to get the Veeam Backup and Replication software to backup our VMs?  I’m assuming not really - as that’s the point of certificates!Any suggestions most welcome.Thanks...

Hello,I get error 400 when activating DR. Secret is created but not accepted, somehow.  Any idea what it could be ?Thank you !Konstantin

In B&R console I want to browse the contents of a Linux repository.  I go to Files and expand the repository but a message appears “Access is denied.”The backup and replication jobs which are assigned to the repo work fine and I can rescan the repo so I know the stored credentials are working but I can’t browse the files. Is it a limitation of the Community edition?

There are two cores in the network. It is necessary to implement veeam availability in case of failure of one of them. The Windows cluster is not suitable. Because you cannot implement fault-tolerant shared storage.Option 1Two veeam servers, one is on, the other is off. If the master server fails, turn on the slave server and restore the necessary virtual machines. (it is unclear if the veeam subordinate server will see the backup storage)Option 2is mysql replication. There will be no copy jobs in the first veeam. It will only be used to restore virtual machines. What problems might arise? How can this be implemented in another way?

Hello everyone,Regarding v12.1 new feature Surebackup lite mode, does it support AHV?

If I upgrade to Veeam v11 to v12, the storage target is ExaGrid appliance (the backup flow is directly write to this appliance), what are the software requirements for ExaGrid Appliance, e.g. firmware? Please help.

I have a proposal out for a client that want to put their Sage 100/RDS server in Azure and get rid of all on-premise compute. (We’re also migrating their Exchange server to M365).I have proposed a new server, and had planned on backing it up using our VCSP rental licensing and putting an appliance in their Azure to facilitate backups to Blob storage on their account.  However, it just dawned on me that I could probably just facilitate backups from Veeam Agent for Windows from this single VM to Blob instead.  What would be the preferred/recommended method and are there any special caveats for either that you can think of?  I very much live in the on-premise world right now, so it’s all new to me.

Hi team: I have a question about Veeam and Hyper-V. I just installed VBR on a virtual machine running Windows Server 2002 and have 2 W2019 servers running Hyper-V. Can I add both to the VBR infrastructure?Or can I install agents for virtual machines within Hyper-V? Regards,
