The database simply freezes and Veeam needs to be restarted. We discovered that disabling Offload for the current Service Provider completely stops the problem from occurring. VBR RAM/CPU resources remain without overload. The database loses communication, and as a solution, we need to restart the postgres service. Veeam Version 12.3.2.4165 PostgreSQL Version 15.14-1 We have implemented these changes so far: Set-VBRPSQLDatabaseServerLimitshttps://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/backup/120/powershell/set-vbrpsqldatabaseserverlimits.html AV & FirewallRunning & Installing PostgreSQL On Native Windows - PostgreSQL wiki We discovered that disabling Offload for the current Service Provider completely stops the problem from occurring. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? I still don't understand why Offload locks the database.I'm looking at the database level, searching for Buffer Maxwritten Clean alerts and the like. The workloads sent to the Service Provider are Always-On and

What happened to the Status column when viewing a backup job’s statistics?  After upgrading to version 13, I no longer see this column.  If a backup object fails, the job shows failed however you have to view each backup object in the job to see which one failed.  Prior to v.13, the status column would show which object failed. Was this intended in v.13 or am I missing it somewhere?

Good day, everyone,I am seeking assistance in identifying the best method for migrating to new hardware.Current Environment:DC-A to DC-B bi-directional Veeam replication Old HP servers running Veeam Old HP StoreOnce appliances used as Catalyst repositoriesNew Hardware:New HP servers and HPE StoreOnce appliances procuredRequirements:Build two sets of new Veeam/HPE StoreOnce environments at DC-A Migrate old DC-A Veeam/HPE StoreOnce to new DC-A Veeam/HPE StoreOnce Migrate old DC-B Veeam/HPE StoreOnce to new DC-B Veeam/HPE StoreOnce Establish bi-directional Veeam replication between the new environments Decommission old Veeam/HPE StoreOnce hardware once backup and restore jobs are validatedBased on my previous experience with Veeam/Data Domain migrations, I have outlined the following proposed migration strategy for HPE StoreOnce Catalyst repositories. I would appreciate your input to validate this approach:Use HPE StoreOnce native Catalyst copy replication to replicate both repositories f

Hi All,My customer would like to continue to use an external USB hard drive as a backup repository on the new DELL physical VSA server they have stood up. It’s look as though it’s not supported in this release, but they would like confirmation that it’s on the roadmap for future releases.Any ideas? Thanks!

I attended the Veeam Toronto event recently and met some great people there and thought it might be time to join the Community.  Nice to be here and hope to spend some time giving back in the future.  For now, trying to work my way through the Veeam 13 upgrade as it’s the first where I’ve run into a major issue since starting with 9.5.I upgraded VeeamONE, Backup Enterprise, then B&R from 12.3 to 13 yesterday.  I have run into a couple of issues and currently have a support ticket open but thought I would highlight some growing pains here as well as ask if anyone has seen this yet.  The B&R upgrade process went smoothly until I got to the point where I opened the new console.First problem, logged in and console opened fine(after running as Administrator) but I lost access to my Nutanix AHV clusters and backup proxy machines int the backup infrastructure.  I have a mix of AHV and VMware clusters and the VMware side had no issues - my B&R VM and another Windows-based proxy use

Dear Community, What could be the issue? While upgrading Veeam Software to the latest Version 13  All Services , All jobs, and everything are stopped.

Hello,When using VDC Calcultor for Azure VM workloads, for a snapshot size of ~64.4 TB there is an associated snapshot cost (~$3,297) with a Bronze policy (1 per day for 7 days), I am missing clarity on how this cost is applied over time.More specifically, could you please clarify:1. Is this snapshot cost:- calculated per month,- per year,- or is it a cumulative cost based on retention (number of snapshots × retention duration)?2. Does the displayed cost already account for the 7‑day snapshot retention, or is it the cost of a single snapshot instance? Thank you for your clarificationBR

Hi VC,Happy new year first of all!I’m currently backing up a SQL VM via the Veeam SQL Plugin to a datastore within my production environment, at the same time I’m replicating said VM via CDP to my DR site.I’ve currently setup the following schedule via the Veeam SQL Plugin:15 minute transaction / log backupDaily differential backup @ 18:30 (except Sunday)Weekly full backup (Sunday) @ 18:30The differential backups are failing when the CDP is enabled; the CDP runs 24-hours a day as we need near-zero dataloss.Any ideas how I can have these two running at the same time without the errors above? Many thanks,LGH

So turns out using Deployment Kit is the easiest way to be able to perform FLR to Windows from a Vsphere backup.Deployment kit by default contains a certificate of validity 1 month. Does the agent (transport service etc.) stop working after that? How do we manage those certs as we generally do not do many agent-based backups but want to be able to do FLR to original destination nevertheless. Thanks!

Hi everyone,I’m studying the v13.0.1 training course in order to delivery its next year, during reading the course material, I found the information that not all functionalities are available on VBR Windows still available on VSA, I’m trying to find a list of those unavailable functionalities, but so far, I couldn’t get a list of them, does anyone know what functionalities are not available on VSA v13?

What’s the root password on the VSA?

When we enable MFA, then all users is forced to use MFA. In case we need do execute script by powershell, how we can exclude so the powershell script still can operate normally?

We’re setting up the Veeam Software Appliance (VSA). We got an error when we tried to connect to our storage device, "Failed to get certificate from: https://xxx.xxxxxx.xxx:5392." technical support has advised us to “ensure that the cipher suite 'TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA256' is enabled on the Veeam appliance.”The command “openssl version -d” returns “OPENSSLDIR: "/etc/pki/tls".” When I try to edit openssl.conf in that folder, I get an error, “E45: 'readonly' option is set”. How can I enable the cipher? Thanks for reading.

Hi, I’m running the most recent B&R CE version 13.0.1.180 and trying to create a recovery thumb drive.  I have tried multiple USB sticks and keep getting the same error:  Preparing USB disk Error: The system cannot find the path specified.   I know the USB sticks are good as they are new and I have tried multiple batches.  Anyone else experiencing this?

Hello  Can you connect a Veeam Infrastructure Appliance (VHR) hardened repository to Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) which [(VBR) is running ver 12.3.2]i'm assuming is via SSH,  My question is three-fold is this at all possible?if possible which user account is recommend?Does this require su if sudo fails current user accounts veeamadmin veeamsvccreate new one? how do make new account sudo if veeamsvc where do you find single use password? Are there any KB or blog on todo do this?I know the simple answer is update VBR to version 13, this is work seamlessly.I’m looking at this from a backwards capability point of view . Thanks

Hi,we backup our ad users with Veeam and had to restore some of them. So far no problem, the restore succeeded and user was back including the old password. The user could logon into computers, but he wouldn’t get any kerberos tickets. Only after a password change the behavior was completely normal. We couldn’t find any reason for this as only timestamps get changed with the user object. Any ideas why it istn’t working as expected? Thanks and happy holidays

Hello everyone,What is the best practice to backup VMs on HPE Simplivity?

Hi,Where do you guys mostly download Yara rules for Veeam from? This GIT looks not maintained for years (files from 2022).  https://github.com/YARA-Rules/rules/archive/refs/heads/master.zipI also used those links but I had some troubles when scanning backup.https://github.com/Neo23x0/signature-base/archive/refs/heads/master.ziphttps://yaraify.abuse.ch/yarahub/yaraify-rules.zip

Hey there, we need Offsite-Backups of our Unstructured Data. Since the Backup Files are roughly 3,5 TB in Size, its impossible to get that Data to the Site directly due to slow Internet Connections. So i first configured a Secondary Target NAS for the Backup Job Onsite to get that Backup Copy onto it. I then moved that NAS to the Offsite Location, changed it’s IP and added it back into Veeam as a new Repository. Did a Rescan of that new Repo and Veeam found the Backup Data and added it. I now added that new Repo to the secondary Target in the Veeam File Backup Job and removed the first one (which was the same NAS with the Onsite IP which is now invalid). I then restarted the actual Backup Job. It created some data, finished teh Job and the new Backup Copy Job started. But here’s the problem: It completely ignores the Backup Copy already in existence on that (now) Offsite NAS and instead starts creating a whole new Backup Copy. This is absolutely inacceptable. How can i tell Veeam, that

In Veeam13 how we can move existing job to other repository?I try to edit the job and change the repository then when click next i got this prompt. In earlier version as i remember there are option to move or create new.

Hello - I am running Veaam Backup and Replication V.12 and am attempting to configure email notifications using Microsoft 365 modern authentication. I authorized the connection via the MSFT 365 signin dialogue and when complete I can see the indicator that the token is valid, but when I send a test email I get a general exception error message (see screenshot). The error doesn’t give allot to go on, has anyone else seen this and can recommend a solution?

HI..I create user account for myself in Enterprise Managerbut when i logon using my account why i got error ‘Cannot find backed up machines where the user belongs to Local Administrators group’

I have installed Veeam Software Appliance on fresh hardware. My intent is to recreate my backup infrastructure around it and then deprecate my current Windows server that handles the jobs. I am not finding anywhere to download a license key for version 13. It does not show in my account portal as an option for generating a key.

With the newly released Veeam v13, we need to install it at two sites, perform primary backups, and then cross-replicate the backup data from each site as a secondary step.Is this a feasible scenario? 1. Backup Server Configuration- Site1: Dell R760 + VSA (Three backup target servers; agent connection and backup completed)- Site2: Dell R760 + VSA (Five backup target servers; agent connection and backup completed) 2. Additional Configuration Required- Backup Copy from Site1 VSA's backup data to Site2 VSA's backup repository (with Veeam WAN Accelerator enabled)- Backup Copy from Site2 VSA's backup data to Site1 VSA's backup repository (with Veeam WAN Accelerator enabled) 3. Questions- I'm unsure how to register the Site2_VSA_Repository on Site1_VSA. I attempted to register it via the Veeam UI below, but I don't know how to handle the Linux authentication part.Backup Infrastructure→ Backup Repositories→ Add Repository→ Direct Attached / Network / Linux - Is there any documentation that co
