I have one VBR server with tape installed in main office.

Then i also have VBR on other branch in different city and can i use tape on main office to store the backup?

I try to add tape server on branch VBR server and pointing to VBR server on main office and should i take the ownership?

Only one VBR can be the owner of the tape drive.  If you run backups in the main office where the tape server is you cannot do this.  You will need to backup data to repo in the main office then tape that out.

hi @Chris.Childerhose

Let say VBR1 located in main office and VBR2 is the branch.

This mean VBR2 should use VBR1 as repository then i must create file backup to backup this repo to the tape?

hi @Chris.Childerhose

Thanks.

If we want to backup file shares, can we directly backup to the tape or we still need backup to the disk first?

Have both sites managed by a single VBR is the answer if you can do it.
