Hi everyone,

I’m studying the v13.0.1 training course in order to delivery its next year, during reading the course material, I found the information that not all functionalities are available on VBR Windows still available on VSA, I’m trying to find a list of those unavailable functionalities, but so far, I couldn’t get a list of them, does anyone know what functionalities are not available on VSA v13?

Some people here are talking about WebUI and Windows Console. But the question was about VSA Linux and VBR on Windows. So, the core services and not just the console.

Unfortunately, there isn't a really good overview yet, but it would be nice to have one. Maybe Veeam could create a proper overview here in the Help Center.

What I came across were authentication issues.

For example, there is the issue:
Linux-based backup servers do not support Hyper-V workgroup clusters. This configuration is available only for Microsoft Windows-based backup servers. --> Unfortunately, the Veeam Deployment Kit does not help here either.

Both the Hyper-V nodes and the backup server must be joined to the same Active Directory domain --> this works.

Other than this, I haven't noticed any other major differences.

Until now, I had the feeling that there were more new features available on the VSA than on the Windows VBR.

I think it's easier to list what is available right now on Web UI, as many options are still restricted to Windows Console only.

The new architectural shift for v13 prioritizes a "security-first" approach over 100% feature parity. While there is no single official "comparison matrix" yet, the link && Veeam R&D forum posts have identified specific gaps. Because the VSA is in its infancy, I believe its feature set will evolve.

I know there are many things you can only add via the Windows Console and not via the WebUI for sure like most repositories especially Object Storage.

Hi @AndrePulia

My last article about missing features in web console.

I’ll appreciate every comment, if you see some inexactly and other missing features.

Thanks

I don't understand why so many WebUI and Console answers appear here, which wasn't the question at all from @AndrePulia 😅

@PeteSteven Hi Peter, you are right, the main point is about VBR running as VSA compared to VBR running on Windows. but that’s OK.
On your first post, you gave one important issue regarding authentication. tank you for that.
