I have an issue on Veeam Storage Integration with IBM SVC. It hold the storage discovery for a long time. Anyone can help me?Veeam B&R: v11aIBM SVC OS: firmware 8.3.1.6Troubleshooting: Already restarted the VBR 

I created a SOBR in order to tier off data to AWS.  That process works perfectly.My capacity tier setting is setup to Copy and Move.  The Move is setup for 14 days (operational restore window)My backup job has a retention of 30 days with the Backup Repo being the SOBRAnd I am doing Forward Incremental with weekly Active Full on Sunday My issue is that in the Performance Tier, I only have 1 backup chain (currently there are 3 restore points Sun-Tues), not 2 as I would have anticipated with my Move policy.  My Object Storage is showing the correct number of restore points / backup chains based upon the 30 day Retention I have setup on my job.What do you think I am doing work with this configuration?  I am looking to have 1 complete backup chain plus current week, so 7 + 7 in my performance tier.What am I doing wrong that I am not getting my 14 days on Performance tier? Thank you everyone for your support 

Hallo,wir setzen Veeam B&R Community Edition ein und die vorhandene Funktionalität reicht uns völlig aus.Jedoch sind wir bezüglich Lizenzen ans Limit gestoßen.Die Community Edition beinhaltet 10 Instanzen, wobei WS nur 1/3 belegen.Wenn man sich den online Lizenzrechner anschaut, kann man Lizenzen im Paket von jeweils 5 Instanzen kaufen. D.h. man bräuchte mindesten 15 Instanzen zum Preis von 1044€ um bezüglich Anzahl Lizenzen einen Mehrwert gegenüber der C.E. zu haben und hat dann aber nur 5 Instanzen mehr.Ist das so, oder gibt es noch eine andere Form der Lizenzierung?GrußRalf

Hi all!I’m engaged in a project where we have to backup several physical servers with agents via WAN with very small bandwidth.I prepared a portable server with local disks to collect the first full backups within the ROBO locations’ LAN.Back in the central datacenter I would like to use that as a seed for future incremental backups. I’m aware of the basic procedure for that (copy VBKs, rescan repo, map job).But in the end I would like to have only one agent backup job for all servers; though the mapping option lets me only choose one job to map to thus loosing the previous chains.Any options I am missing or not possible?Thanks for any input!Tim

Hi Folks, I think I remember hearing that Veeam was coming out with their own Self Service Portal for O365. I can’t remember where I heard this (VeeamONUpdate?). Does anyone remember? And would this be based on the previous unofficial Portal that was on the VeeamGitHub site? cheers Geoff

Hi all, I am trying to create a Monthly Full Backup with Incremental Backups in between. In the ‘Advanced’ section, so far, I have created a Backup Job with ‘Incremental’ option selected. I have also enabled ‘Active full backup’ which will run on the last Friday on Monthly basis. In the ‘Schedule’ section, I have selected the ‘Run the job automatically’ with condition that it will run at 10 pm of the last Friday, every Month.So, the question is have a configured it correctly ? Thanks,Abhi

Has anyone had any success getting email notifications via Office 365 to work from their Veeam Azure backup appliance? I keep getting SMTP auth errors, even though I’ve confirmed the credentials are correct. I’m using SSL and authentication over port 587 and have tried various Office SMTP endpoints without success. I have added the appliance IP to our on-premise connector in Exchange Online.Weirdly, I am able to get it to send the test email if I relay via Gmail, but cannot for the life of me get it to work via Exchange Online. Hoping I’m just missing something obvious.For what it’s worth, the same account I’m using can send emails from our copier via Exchange Online without issue. Any suggestions appreciated!

Ich kann auch nicht “TLS/StartTLS” angeben. Sondern nur SSL.   Ich habe schon ein wenig rumgesucht, jedoch wird mir immer nur gesagt “Nutze TLS/StartTLS”. Viele Grüße und Danke

I have several SQL jobs that currently perform nightly (or weekly) restores of a production database on other servers.  Since we have now migrated to the Veeam Backup and Replication solution, I am trying to accomplish these same tasks within the Veeam environment.  (BTW, we are on Veeam version 11.)  I set up the Veeam PowerShell environment as described here https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/powershell/getting_started.html?ver=110#remote and wrote a script to perform a database restore (see attached).I ran the script interactively within a PowerShell session and it completed successfully.  I ran it again as a Windows Scheduled Task and it worked.  However, I can’t get it to run as a SQL Server Agent job. Here’s the error message that I’m receiving:The term 'Start-VESQLRestoreSession' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Hey all, A file backup job started failing when it attempted to run on Saturday the 15th. When the job ran on Friday evening, everything was fine, but it decided to start failing on Saturday. On Friday night, the recent Microsoft patch (kb5009557 2022-01 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 (1809)) was installed after the Veeam job ran so I am thinking that the failure might be due to the update? Currently using Veeam Backup and Replication Build 11.0.0.837 installed on a Windows Server 2019 Hyper-V machine. When looking in Event Viewer, I looked under the Applications and Services Logs tree and the failed job is given an Event ID of 190 with this message, “Job details: Error: Agent: Failed to process method {NasMaster.CreateIfNotExistsJobBackup}: You can't access this shared folder because your organization's security policies block unauthenticated guest access. These policies help protect your PC from unsafe or malicious devices on the network.” I have looked at the network and

I have a question as we are looking to make sure that our backup environment is as recoverable as possible in the event of the most extreme events.We have our VBR server virtualized in HyperV.  We do a backup job for the configuration database.  We also have a replication task setup to replicate the VBR server to our DR location.What we are looking at is that the location that the config database is backed up to is in the primary data center.  What has anyone done to create a task to copy the config database offsite, like to SharePoint or OneDrive or something like that.

Hi Id like to find out what people think the best course of action would be in my circumstances. we have an agent backup job that was running on a WSFC failover cluster file server. this was backup up to a SOBR which was tiered to AWS We have just removed the WSFC cluster in favour of single servers, I have had to create new backup jobs within Veeam (cant use clustered type for non clustered) which was fairly easy my question is what do to with the old jobs, they have backup data attached to them in performance capacity tiers which I don’t want to accidentally remove but I am unsure whether it is best to just disable the job, or remove the protected volumes from the jobs, but I think that if I disable or remove the selections that Veeam wont be able to manage the retention policies thanks!

Hi, We are utilizing the RestAPI in VBR11 to manage most of our jobs (reporting, start, stop, etc).It seems that SureBackup jobs are not included in the API, when communication with /api/v1/jobs Is there an roadmap for the API, where we can follow the progress? Or is this already included? :)

Hey Veeam Community,I am having a problem backing up my personal workstation to an external hard drive.I am using the free version of Veeam Agent for Windows.When I backup, my main (C:) Internal SSD shows:Local SSD (C:) (476.1 GB) 262.5 GB read at 142 MB/sHowever, my other Internal SSD ‘terabyte’ (X:)Terabyte (X:) (953.9 GB) 3.8 GB read at 4 MB/s.I benchmarked both of my drives with CrystalDiskMark and they both got good similar results being Sata SSD’s, so the X: drive should not be this slow.I’ve tried swapping sata ports, changing cables, disable throttling when system is in use, etc. Nothing seems to help.Can anyone help me diagnose what is causing one drive to backup so much faster? Thanks, Mike

Hi, I am backing up VM’s from single ESXI server. At present I have 2 VM and backup runs daily. I notice one VM backup has RED Flag/Play sign.What does it mean, anything to be worried of ? Where can I get read all of the ICON details ?  Thank you. Dwija
