Hey all - We’re trialing Kasten as a way to backup our clusters and also to have a ‘hot’ fail-over cluster in certain environments.Part of this deployment means I have ‘Cluster A’ backup it’s workloads, and ‘Cluster B’ importing them and restoring them to its cluster.The problem we are seeing is when cluster B imports and restores the workload, all our nodePort services are changing to random ports.I know I could go add each service ‘manually’ to cluster B to mitigate, but I’d like to avoid this if possible.I’ve also looked at transforms during import / restore, but I am unable to get the cluster to accept my replacement nodePort.Is there a way to turn this off this random nodePort generation so that we get a 1 - 1 replication of our workloads?Cheers! 

New job and one of my tasks is to cleanup VEEAM. Trying to make sure the backup settings are correct and consistent. I’m also renaming the jobs in a logical and consistent manner. First couple of renamed jobs ran last night. I was surprised that a) they did not take a new full and b) they did not create a new folder. I’m using Reverse Incremental. Can I safely rename the folders to reflect the name of the jobs?Will the vbk and vbm ever rename to the name of the job? I assume I can’t rename those manually.

I get the difference between RI and FI. The question is, if I’m using RI, can I do a full restore at a point in time in the past? As in, I walk in this morning and all my servers have been crypto. Obviously, the last backup (full) is useless. Can I ask for a full restore or instant recovery as of 2 days ago?

Hello everybody! I’d like to know if is possible to translate my reports of Veeam One.Anyone knows something about that? 

I work for an MSP and we rent Veeam licenses to our clients. We can monitor backups through the Veeam Service Provider Console but their are some features that are lacking using this. We are looking for a more robust monitoring to make certain that our clients backups are functioning. One specific thing that the VSPC lacks is reporting on issues with offloading to a capacity tier. Tech support verified this and put in a suggestion for this feature. We want something that has consolidated reporting. We look at the VSCP alerts twice per day currently.Does anyone know of any product that we can use to get better reporting on errors / alerts?

Hi,I need to find a way for backup verification test for agent backup systems. These are physical machines. (sql, exchange, oracle). VMs are working fine. I could do manually or script based instant recovery to vmware. But those tests would be in production an not seperated in a virtual lab. Any ideas? Is this feature on a roadmap?Any news for supporting NSX-T nics in VLAB? Thx and GreetingsHartmut 

Hello, I would like to know how do you manage your job and associated TAG when you build Veeam for customer ? I would like to use 1 job for 200 VM and within these 200 VM I have some with oracle, some with Exchange, some with SQL, …How would you do for it ? I think about different categoriies (rpo / application type / log processing)rpo : 24/48/…application type : exchange, sql, oracle,…log processing : copy , truncate, truncate 15m, truncate 30m,…And use tag combination on my job with all the possibilities :24 + exchange + truncate24 + sql + truncate 15m24 + oracle + truncate 30m24 + oracle + truncate 15m What do you think about it ?Is it better to have 1 job for SQL ? 1 for Oracle ? I would like to know how do you do for big customer :) I have some with 200/300/500VMs and I would like to avoid to manually specify each VM on AAIP and the process associated

Does anyone meet an issue when deleting the ‘Veeam Backup’ folder on OneDrive? Looks there are thousands of files there… The senerio is after stopped the local HDD backup to Microsoft OneDrive, when deleting the online backup folder, it goes wrong. From: Local Hard Disk (OS: windows)To: Microsoft OneDrive Issue: Can’t delete the ‘Veeam Backup’ folder on OneDriveClient: Veeam agent for Microsoft Windows 5.0.0.4301

I have an odd backup setup that I am trying to navigate. We have a VM (VMware) that is being backed up that has a volume listed in the OS as G: drive. This is actually a USB drive attached to the host server and is being fed into VMware via the xHCI USB driver. Veeam is backing up this volume, but is not listing it in the list of backed up drives if I try and create an exclusion. Is there another area to look or another way to exclude just this G: drive from the backup?

I am currently trying to upgrade to version 11 . The first upgrade failed with an error as it could not start the services. I have just tried to run the repair and I am receiving a different error "veeam configuration database is in use by the backup server " I have no idea how to proceed.

Hey guys, I watched this video on WAN accelerator and the instructor has told to not specify C drive as the cache location, but in helpcenter documents they have not specified anything like that. Is not setting cache location on C drive a good recommendation? Please refer the video and for more details of what I described jump to 6:27 of the video  

Hi - just testing with community edition. I ran a test backup to C:\backup but I did not have enough space. I’ve added a new repository which is a Synology NAS. I can see a vbm file is created for 2 of my linux hosts, but thats it. Immediately the backup fails. All I get is “finished with error”. Is there a log somewhere thats a tad more verbose than this?  

What happens if I loose VBR Server?How can I perform the Failover?What option do I have for DR of the VBR Server itself?Thank you!

Hi I use veeam v11 Enterprise plus solution to back-up my environnent. Veeam is installed in all-in-one configuration a local physical server.I bought a google cloud storage in order to get an other copu of my datas on the cloud.I created a SOBR on my backup infrastructure, with a local NAS as performance Tier and GPC bucket as capacity tier with the copy operation.This operation succeeded and i see on GPC administration page a Veeam/Archive folder.Then i created a job to back-up a small folder in order to try it.The job succeeded with a warning regarding to cache serve limited space.In local repository i can find backup files, but on the bucket ther is nothing.I don’t understand why i have no error message but i can’t see backup files on the GPC bucket ?

Hi, I’m hoping someone can point me in the correct direction. I have Veeam B&R Community edition server running on my Windows 10 workstation. I do backups of the O/S drive daily and monthly, the user data hourly and monthly and the VM drive daily and monthly.I wanted to have bare-metal recovery but it turns out that Veeam’s bare metal recovery only works if the backups are taken by a Veeam Windows agent implementation. I tried this but because I am already backing data using B&R the agent policy fails.How can I get a bare-metal recovery option?I used to use Windows backup but I keep getting issues with other drives getting flagged as required and that blows out the space required for the Windows backup.Thanks in anticipation.Bob   

Hey All,I’ve tried to get some automation for the backup of my Citrix base images.  I have a script that adds a machine to the backup job based on the name.  Of course, these machines get created and deleted like flies, and I was wanting to automatically remove them if they’ve been removed from vCenter.  I guess I could use tags, but then I’d have to rely on my Citrix admin to use the tags, and if it’s forgotten then there’s no backup, so I’ve decided a script is the way to go. So adding machines to the jobs works wonderfully, but I can’t seem to nail the way to remove the machines that aren’t in vCenter inventory. I also have the auto delete from backups turned on to prune the base images after x days.   Here’s the snippet of powershell causing issues:#Searches the backup job to find any VM that don't have a size associated with the VM and assigns it to the variable  ie. When backing up o365 data if I am using DAS like windows or linux, does the repository requirements remain same as for veeam backup & replication?

We are trying to commission a new Veeam hardened repository for off-site backups (Backup Copy jobs). we have put the server behind internal NAT (i.e. using a private IP not an internet IP) as we feel this will improve the security. Backup jobs work but Backup Copy jobs do not and I am getting the impression that NAT is the problem. The primary repository is trying to communicate with secondary with its ‘real’ IP rather than the NAT IP. Can this be overcome?
