Hi,Does anyone know how to get Veeam to copy the Full backup + incrementals to tape daily? As in each day a new tape has both.  Alternativly I would be happy for it to create a synthetic full to tape each day.Ideally i dont want to do a reverse incremental incase they decide to go to cloud as well at a later date.Veeam just seems to refuse to backup files it already has on another tape! Thanks for the help.

Dear All, I would just like to know, if I want to protect my Azure workload using Veeam backup for Azure by downloading the preconfigured appliance available in marketplace, Can I use Veeam universal licenses file onto it. I dont want to create any VBR Server either on-premise or hybrid. Any help or support is highly appreciated. Regards,Sunny

Hi, I am new to Veeam, I am trying to restore my already backedup  VM to AWS ec2. I did following test run TestVM  backup >  Tape BackupAWS tape Gateway > Sucesss  Restore from backup > VM Restore > Restore to EC2 > FailedRestore job failed Error: File does not exist. File: []. Failed to open storage for read access. Storage: []. Cannot open a local backup for the file level restore. Storages: [AWS-TEST-RUND2022-03-23T101007_BE57.vbk]. Agent failed to process method {Mount.QueryOsInfo}.

Great Day To all, I need your help. I’m desperate with configuration Backup on suse linux.  I can´t make one Backup with out error. Now i have 2. 1º Warning: Cannot find EFI boot manager entry for EFI System Partition GUID [{fd710814-4267-4121-bc79-7909e224d025}].  2º Could not create btrfs on /dev/loop3   My Boot is EFI, i don't know what i'm doing wrongCan You help me? i use Veeam B&R. The best regards to all.   

Hey guys, I require your suggestionIf I have stored backups in local repo in NTFS format and later realized it should be in refs, what should be the next step?Should I format the current repo into Refs or I add another repo of Refs and move the backups?

Can a support ticket be raised without providing a support ID ? 

As part of the audit findings, the auditor is looking for the history or evidence that Veeam Backup and Replication were being patch regularly. Is there a way I can extract this?

Hello, Recently, the Veeam B&R server was updated to the 11.1.0. (). When I first opened Veeam Console, The “Components Update” wizard was initiated and the update processes were started. The update of the veeam server failed with the status “Failed to upgrade host components. Error: 'Error 1714. The older version of Veeam Agent for Linux Redistributable cannot be removed.” What can I try?

Hi Team, My upgrade from 11 to 11a is failing with this message. “Failed to start service “VeeamExplorersrecoverysvc.” Click retry to attempt to start the service again. Click Cancel to continue installation without starting the service.”If i cancel it it cancels the install. Hello,a customer needs to setup cloud backup using Veeam Cloud Connect.Total source capacity is about 90TB of heterogeneous data (40 VMs, most of them are users files, db, sap)Needs are daily incremental, 1 monthly full/VM, 6 months retention (totally 6 full backup/VM).I don't understand how to use the capacity calculator https://calculator.veeam.com/vbr/Can someone please help me understand how to fill data into the tool ?thank you so muchBest Regards,Davide

I performed a full backup  on one of the Severs via Veeam Standalone backup agent. I want to test if that “full backup” is an accurate one.So, what I would like to do it restore that “full backup” on a different VM or a Windows Server. So I can compare. Is it possible?

 Investigating another issue where 2 VM’s have GPU’s thus VMware will not allow a snapshot of the VM’s. I am sure this question has been asked before, how can I backup these VM’s? They are running on vSphere 6.7 and the machines are Red Hat Linux 8 using an NVIDIA GPU. Also have a question about the jobs. All the VM’s were added using the vCenter server at the top level. So when these VM’s fail it seems to me the entire job get’s killed. These 2 VM’s fail, then I get a message all VM’s have been queued for processing and then a job error/failure message and it ends.

Hey guys,If I have deployed two backup servers in my environment and those servers are backing up the same workload, will it result a failure in the jobs of any backup server?

The best way to deal with problems is to acknowledge them, and address them. Story time: I often say, there are two types of people in the world, those who’ve lost data, and those who are about to. Why do I say this? Because I’ve lost data. My PC is approaching a decade in age, with a motherboard that was always slightly questionable, it would periodically boot into BIOS/UEFI instead of booting, despite seeing the SSD attached within the boot menu, a reboot would always fix it.Suddenly the boot problem became more apparent, requiring multiple reboots to successfully connect. Then suddenly one day, it wouldn’t boot and wouldn’t see my SSD. I tested the SSD in a caddy and it was completely dead. No SMART warnings beforehand either. Thankfully it was a smaller OS device so after licking my wounds, reinstalling Windows onto a new SSD and a lot of manual retrieval of data from the various cloud services I use, I was back up and running. But clearly, a backup would’ve saved me from all that

Hi, I would like to confirm if the Snapshot-based retention keep the full backup and only delete the incremental snapshots according to the retention policy (years, days, etc.). I need to do an incremental backup job like VBR, to keep only 2 months of incrementals. Thanks, Omar De Souza.
