I performed a full backup  on one of the Severs via Veeam Standalone backup agent. I want to test if that “full backup” is an accurate one.

So, what I would like to do it restore that “full backup” on a different VM or a Windows Server. So I can compare. Is it possible?

Yes, if you used veeam Agent without a vbr server, then you must use the recovery media to boot the vm and restore the agent backup to this vm.

  1. Create the recovery media
  2. Boot the VM from the iso
  3. Restore the Backup to the Vm

You can also install VBR (Paid or Community edition) to manage the agent Backups, then you could leverage instant vm recovery to test the agent backup.

Another note, you say you back up vms with the agent.

You could install Veeam B&R Community edition and backup this vms with a vm Backup Job :)
