Hi Team,

 

My upgrade from 11 to 11a is failing with this message. “Failed to start service “VeeamExplorersrecoverysvc.” Click retry to attempt to start the service again. Click Cancel to continue installation without starting the service.”

If i cancel it it cancels the install. Looking in the install log doesn’t provide much information and windows event log doesnt show anything either.

I have tried to start the service manually and in add remove programs it looks like Veeam is now on the 11a version number.

 

Any ideas anyone?

just for some info, S.O. of the installation?

did you download the update package or the full 11a iso?

maybe the correct way would be to collect the logs and open a Support case, 

but is sounds like a missing windows service or patch.

for me, the upgrade was very straight forward, so no really clue on this, as I said, open a support case and attached all the info they request.

Hi, it won’t be the install log as that’s related to install tasks, if it’s trying to start the service it’ll be the normal logs, normally stored in %ProgramData%\Veeam\Backup

I used the full 11a ISO

 

I have done the upgrade on a number of other boxes and they all went through fine, its just this one for some reason, i just tested and i can open Veeam and its reporting its on the 11A version.

 

I’ll log a job with support.
