Hi everyone, I want to post a step by step guide of a migration from an old Vmware DC to a new one with focus on Migration \ Replication of an Active Directory environment, unfortunately the guide is quite long and over 50000, it is possible to increase it or I have to fragment my post on the blog?Thanks, I look forward to a kind reply.

Hallo Community,ich habe mal wieder eine Frage zum Job Erstellen.Wir nutzen seit neustem Veeam Backup & Replication in der aktuellen Version.Jetzt habe ich hier noch 2 Synology NAS Laufwerke wovon ich Daten sichern möchte.Angebunden habe ich die Daten über den SMB Share, danach habe ich ein Job erstellt welcher mir die Daten sichert.Da dies ein File Backup Job ist habe ich nicht so viele Einstellmöglichkeiten.Derzeit ist es so eingestellt das die Files der letzten 30 Tage aufgehoben werden.Ich hätte aber gerne ein GFS System so das jeder Monat ein Fullbackup behalten wird, und am Ende vom Jahr ein Fullbackup aufgehoben wird.Kann man das realisieren oder muss ich ein zusätzlichen Job generieren der mir nur Monatlich sichert?Vielen Dank im Voraus für die Antworten.mfg Chris

Hello Veeam-Community,i hope this question doesnt arise too often:I have Veeam Backup Essentials and Veeam Backup for O365 locally installed. I have also three Azure VMs, can i use Veeam B&R to backup these VMs in Azure. What would be the best approach? I have an Azure S2S-VPN which is currently limited to 100Mbit/s, so is it practical to backup my Azure-VMs by using the Windows Agent of Veeam? Or should i use Veeam Backup for Azure (which seems to be free for up to 10 VMs). Or maybe there is a different approach für my hybrid environment?I´m also in the process of setting up an S3-compatible Storage (Wasabi-based), to have a type of archive for my backups.Thanks for any advice.

Hallo Community,Wir setzen seid einigen Monaten Veeam Backup & Replication 11 ein.Ich habe nun eine Frage bezgl eines Backup Jobs:Der Job soll unseren SQL Server stündlich sichern und zwar jeden Wochentag von 06:00 Uhr bis 22:00 Uhr. Außerdem müßen die Backups nicht länger als von dem aktuellen Tag aufgehoben werden.Ich habe das so eingestellt das die Retention Policy auf 1 Tag ist und bei Job automatisch starten eine Periode von 1 Stunde eingetragen.Mir ist jetzt aber aufgefallen das er zwar jeden Stunde ein Backup erstellt das aber schon für die ganze letzte Woche.Wie und Wo kann man das einstellen das die anderen Backups außer das von Heute wieder gelöscht werden?Vielen Dank für die Antwort :D

Hallo zusammen, zwecks Automation des EM schaue ich mir gerade dessen REST API an.Ich habe einen lokalen User, der im EM als “Portal Administrator” angelegt ist. Hi Folks, Calling all Micro$oft Office wizards out there!What is the best way to embed CLI commands in a word doc? One so that it does not capitalize things or change the -- into one line? I think you can create a text box or something but cumbersome. There must be a better way! cheers

I followed the Veeam setup guide as well as Microsoft 365 to Veeam Backup to Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage.  Everything looks great, I have the following Backup Proxies and Repositories.  I used modern authentication.  No errors anywhere. However when I create a backup the only choice is the Default Backup Repository.What might I be missing here?

For well know reasons myself and many here recommend to - if possible - deploy VBR and especially it’s repos outside of the Windows domain.Certain issues come as a downside with doing that:Maintaining multiple local admin logins, remote-UAC (LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy), firewall behavior outside of domain networks etc. being some of those.Recently I stumbled upon a situation were we could not establish a connection from a non-domain-joined VBR server to a newly deployed non-domain-joined Windows 2019 repo server. Other older proxies/repos to the same VBR were available and functioning.From the VBR server the admin$ share of the to-be-connected new repo was not accessible (“invalid login”).VBR also stated “invalid login” during Windows server onboarding. But from another (domain joined) Windows system in the same (direct, non-routed) network, the repo’s admin$ share was well available with the same user/pw.Of course no Windows firewall whatsoever was active.Very strange.Has anyone se

TapeDrive alert: The tape drive is due for routine cleaning: Wait for the current operation to finish. Then use a cleaning cartridge. Check the tape drive user manual for device specific cleaning instructions. We have the cleaning tape in the library, and it is set to Perform drive cleaning automatically. Not sure why we would get the alert. Would ejecting and adding back to the drive resolve this issue?

Good morning my friends, I have a question. Today I have 2 external HDs, where every Saturday I change one HD and the other week I put the other HD. One of them is doing the incremental process on the same folder regardless of the week it is. Already the other HD is creating a new folder and making the backups again. I don't want it to create another folder, I want it to use the same one. How do I do that? Since the other one is doing it and I just repeated the settings from the 1st HD to the 2nd HD.
