Hi Team,Got a VM running on a ESXi host. Need to add additional disk space to C: drive. However, couldn’t increase it any further using the VM properties under storage. The provisioned disk capacity is 230GB and the total disk utilization is closer to 230GB as well. The machine is thin provisioned. The connected SAN storage got free available space too. Just wondering the best option to add more disk capacity to C: drive please?Appreciate your feedback.kind regards,Andrew

Hi,backup server is running 2x10Gbps NICs and it is in VLAN with Netapp iSCSI AFF device. I have also 1Gbps network card for management purpose. Also these two network cards are in trunk so they are doing 20Gbps now (at least I think they are doing it :-) )Integration between Netapp and Veeam is configured using management ports of the Netapp which is in different VLAN reachable by this 1Gb NIC from backup server. So, I can see snapshots on Netapp but backup is being done slow (probably using 1Gb NIC). How to force Veeam to use these 10Gbps NICs instead of 1Gbps NIC? Is there a KB for this integration to read how to setup this?Thank you.
Hi, I recently updated vcentre and had to create a new backup task as the old one was no longer working. However, I noticed that veeam backup created many orphan files as a result of each backup and I have to go to vcentre to consolidate these backup. The files are named as MyVM-000001-ctk.vmdk, MyVM-000001.vmdk and it goes on for a while till in my case, 000046. I also note that there was some information displayed - “MyVM has stuck VM snapshot, will attempt to consolidate periodically” I am on veeam backup and replication version 11. This was working well previously before the vcentre upgrade. Thanks in advance.
Hello, I am new to using Veeam and in my small laboratory I am testing rotating disks :I have a retention policy of 21 and I have 3 disks (one per week) : If I understand correctly it would be 7 per disk The question is: if I use Forever Forward Incremental when the disk already has 7 points and I connect it again, will it merge the old incremental and save only full backup? I tried to add my certificate according to this page: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/hyperv/import_tls_pfx.html?ver=120Now VeeamBackupSvc service is not starting showing 1064 error and obviously I can’t use Console to create new self-signed certificate as a workaround. It’s B&R version 10a so I cannot Repair installation - there’s no such option in the installer.How can I fix this?

Hi Team,Got two question and appreciate your response.Q1.In my work environment, we got 3 ESXi hosts and each have connected to multiple SAN devices to store data in different locations. I need to do a mapping exercise to identify the physical HDD’s (inside each SAN device) locations to above said individual ESXi host. I can access the ESXi host from a web interface and can view the datastores connected to individual ESXi host. Further, I can retrieve basic information of the HDDs (physical) but not an option to locate in which SAN device they are stored.Hope my question is clear and appreciate your valuable support to obtain the best eway to perform this exercise?Q2.Also would like to know a tool or a mechanism to detect the health status of the physical HDD. Hi Everyone, I just created an immutable repository using Azure Blob storage and connected to it using a Veeam 12 B&R client on Windows.I was hoping to create a File Share job to send a small set of data to the immutable repository but this doesn’t seem to be an option as when I do a new file share job the immutable repository is not available to select.Have I maybe missed something when configuring my Blob or Repo or is this just not possible? I had the Windows Stand Alone version installed on my Windows 10 PC. The external hard drive it was backing up to failed. I purchased a new external hard drive and had to reinstall the Veeam software. Now backups fail indicating an application error. There are no other details and no log files are being created. Any suggestions on getting backups up and running again would be appreciated.
I have a virtual Backup Server and the Repository is a SMB NAS repository and I keep the backup there for 30 days, does it make sense to activate Synthetic Full Backup in such an environment or is forever incremental better?

I have a Vsan Cluster with 3 ESXi (25Gb Network) and a vm with Veeam 12 and a physical Windows Repository connected with 20 Gb20 VMs must be backup , 3TB ca I am planning how much proxy I need, I am not sure if the proxy installed in the VM where B&R is installed is enough or should I install an additional proxy per Esxi?

So I am attempting to restore files from offsite backup copy to a ServerB at the offsite.From the VBR console I choose to guest files restore from the backup Copy. Then I entered \\ServerB\x$ as the target location. However the restore is happening over the WAN. Any ideas?

The Veeam backup server operates on a 1-gigabit network, while the VMware proxy server and the data domain storage are on 10-gigabit networks. Despite this, the backup speed is consistently reaching only 270 to 300 Mb/s per second. Is there something overlooked in this setup? Additionally, would incorporating a WAN accelerator result in any performance improvements for the copy job over the WAN link?
I’m using Veeam Agent 6 (free).I had to do a fresh install of my computer and did a file level restore to get my most important files back. Afterwards, I started a new backup chain.I still have the backup from my old computer, which is 1 x .vbk and 22 x .vib files. I’d like to keep just the latest restore point, synthetically merge it into a full backup (.vbk) and discard the old restore points. This will likely save 40 % of the space that the old chain currently occupies.I know that Veeam Agent can do that with an active backup job and VBR can import old backups and I can manually trigger it. I hope I can do it with Veeam Agent and an old backup, too, somehow. How?

Hello,if I understand it correctly, in Veeam 12 the backup health check is performed independently from the backup copy job.In my case that leads to a problem because the backup repository which is the target for the backup copy job is only switched on for the backup (powering on and powering off is done by job scripts in the backup copy job).Is there any solution for this?In my opinion there are several ways that would lead to a solution:Starting health check immediately after the backup before the after job script. But that could not be configured any more or I didn’t find it. Adding the functionality to execute scripts before and after the health check. Starting health check manually from the command line. Then I could execute a script which starts the repository, performs the health check and power off again. I found powershell commands to perform a backup health check, but that doesn’t work anymore.
