This question/ask tends to get brought up about yearly for Veeam. The ādecision-makersā response is āno foreseeable future plansā for this. As Michael suggests, a request in the forums would be your best bet.

So many things on VBR depends of Windows and registry key.
I believe that it would be a big effort to ātransportā the backup server feature for a Linux environment.
The question is: Why? So, many new features come every year and this one certainly would drain a lot of this energy of all Veeam staff.

How many companies use pure Linux OS (including hosts, servers, and clients)? Veeam needs to hire Linux developers to re-codeĀ it.
As everybody knows, Linux is a good system, but it is what it is. Maybe one day, the dream will come true.Ā š
