Many of you saw the hotfix that came out for Veeam ONE that takes care of some pretty high CVEs (yesterday).I checked with Support on my custom hotfixes and was given the go ahead to do the hotfix. So I implemented it this morning and now I am running in to problems with the data collection and a persistent warning message -11/7/2023 1:00:04 PM [warning]: servername: Method not found: 'System.String Veeam.Reporter.GrpcService.GrpcServices.GrpcAuthInterceptor.get_CurrentAccessJwt()'.This is an example of one line but happening for all my VBK/VEM servers added in Veeam ONE.I am working through with Support on my case for data collection to see if I need to revert the hotfix for now to allow RnD time to fix the hotfix. 😋
Morning all. Hoping someone can help identify the best method available to us for migrating to new hardware. Overview of current setup:All in one VBR server (physical) Currently on v11 Local storage (ReFS volume) SOBR using Wasabi S3 for the capacity extent. Backups are copied to capacity. 1 job (agent managed) backing up 7 physical servers at remote sitesOverview of new setup:All in one VBR server (physical) Fresh install of v12 Local storage (ReFS volume)How would we best approach moving the data/job from the current setup to the new setup? The approach needs to consider the following: Ideally, we want to use VeeaMover in v12 to move the data between current and new setup so that we maintain the ReFS block cloning savings. The storage from the new system cannot be directly attached to the current system, but the servers are on the same LAN. We want to use a SOBR on the new system that utilises the same Wasabi S3 bucket so that we don’t have to re-seed wasabi (if this is possibl
We are planning to replicate from DC to DR. which ports need to be open for this? we just replicate and recover from replication we also plane deploy the Backup proxy at DR. Thanks
Hi, my customer has centOS 8 installed on bare metal, i have already installed agent on centOS8 but it showed not supported. any solution ?
hi veeam communityI want to turn on the firewall of the backup server and configure the firewallI have veeam backup and enterprise manager on my serverThe servers that are backed up are mostly on hyper-v cluster. There are several physical servers, including SQL Server, which is also a cluster. My question is how can I do this very accurately and professionallyIs there a tool for this? How can I test whether I have considered all the desired ports or not?Thank you for sharing all your experiences with me
I have a Hyper-V VM in TN. Our VBR is in TX. I set the backup job for said Hyper-V VM to use on-host proxy and store data to a repo local to the Hyper-V VM in TN. Started the job ~1940 CST and let it run, it was stuck on 50% completion, and stuck on hard disk 1 processing (like below) for almost two hours. I ended up stopping the job, not gracefully, but immediately. 7:41:16 PM Hard disk 1 (931 GB) 1024 KB read at 1 MB/s 01:49:24 I’m using an NFR to test this because we have a Hyper-V VM in TN that we want to bring to TX but to VMware using Instant Recovery (Instant Recovery to VMware vSphere - User Guide for VMware vSphere (veeam.com)) I was directed here for possible help. I have logs here https://we.tl/t-CHOg5OnEjz (make sure to click Agree if prompted, I tested it out using WeTransfer). If anyone could point me to the direction “why” the job froze and didn’t process the disk, I’d be grateful. EDIT: P.S. - The second hard disk processed fine.. 7:41:16 PM Hard disk 2 (931
As of now I know that Veeam VBR is not supported the Cluster solutions. Is there any plan for Veeam VBR clustering in future any body know that?Couple of my client asking for Veeam VBR cluster solution,
Hi all, I’m working to understand more about question in object. In specific I start from @regnor blog using StoreOnce. If I set an immutability ends in 3 years but a customer want to exit from this service after 2 years what are the correct ways to remove all backup data after export? I know good start is to have xx days (30?) for immutability but if customer wants GFS policy up to 3 years immutable how can I operate? I know this is a MSP based question for this I hope someone can help me.Thanks.
Can we please have an option to export the configuration of a VBR VLAB. And create a VLAB from this export? Too many times the VLAB gets broken and support just states recreate the VLAB but its like 50kazillions configuration option to reconfigure. I have 6 VBR VLABs to manage and its rough keeping up with this.
Worked with 5 different Veeam support resources and implementation specialist with my problem. DRO backup testing restores to a stack and creates mass migrations because of vCenters DRS. Tried forcing it to use the required VLAB and its reservation that VBR restore test uses. But for some reason ive been told DRO was designed to not use this existing VLAB reservation. Can this be implemented?

Why Veeam isnt’t able to use the whole capacity of LTO-tapes? E.g.: Why can't Veeam write a new mediaset to the end of another mediaset?Tapes are in the same mediapool. Mediapool setting “Do not create, always continue using current media set” ist active. If i edit some settings on Backup-To-Tape-Job, a new MediaSet-Name is setting. On next run of this job veeam uses a new fresh tape, although the last tape still has enough storage capacity.I’ve got LTO-7 Tapes (12TB mx. capacity). Veeam uses, for example, only 2TB of capacity in case of doubt.
My company have 20 servers location in 4 different locations (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou), I would like to know how many license pack I needed to purchase for these 20 instances?

Hi everyone,We are currently using Veeam CDP and are very pleased with its performance. However, we would like to configure the CDP bandwidth to utilize its own VLAN instead of the LAN network. We are operating within a 10GB physical network environment.Thank you for your assistance.
I was looking in to an issue today for something and happened to look at the Veeam KB page that shows versions and updates for v12.1 - KB2680: Build Numbers and Versions of Veeam Backup & ReplicationI noticed there is a cumulative patch that released on the 17th (Wednesday) with a new build 12.1.1.56.For those that are using the Veeam Hardened Repositories this update addresses the need for the SSH to be enabled for updating. I have run tests, and it works much better for updating. You can download it here - KB4510: Release Information for Veeam Backup & Replication 12.1 and UpdatesIt also addresses a bunch of other fixes as well like the Invalid XML when opening reports that some reported here - After upgrade to V12 and DB migration to Postgresql get error when trying to show job report | Veeam Community Resource HubNot sure if this will help with your Object backups @DrObject but might want to see as there were some changes in this area.Happy patching everyone and happy Frida
Does Veeam plan to provide an install platform for Linux-based OS, referring to the installation of the Veeam Backup and Replication Application?
Hello all,I have really small environment(manufacture) with 2x virtual server on HyperV where HPE autoloader is connected over switch. This autoloader is used as backup destination of course. After installation of Backup Server on one of the servers(this server has also other role), Veaam discovered share and automatically added as Backup Repository. This share has different purpose, not for Veaam. Because is the only repository I'm not able to remove it from Veaam. Any hint?
Hello,I have a backup job (file backup) that is stored in a repository with rotating disksWhen i try to restoring a file it tells me that it cannot find the backup What is the correct method of restoring files in a repository with rotating disks? Thanks
I have a user who is having issue logging in to the VEM Self-Service portal. We have added groups to have access and I have added myself to their group so I can test every now and then.I can login just fine as a member of the group but he keeps getting Invalid username or password error. We are sure that his credentials are good since he is able to use them on other servers and applications so it is only in Self-service portal where he is getting the error. He cleared his browser’s cache and used other browser as well to no avail.I looked at the Veeam.WebApp.log, these are the entries that I see for the userConnecting to [ServerBEM] under [current account]. Selfrestore modeFailed to create user context from authentication data. Data: [Username: domain\user, Invalid username or password (System.Security.Authentication.InvalidCredentialException) When I login as part of their group, this is what I seeConnecting to [ServerBEM] under [domain\myself]. I am using Evaluation Enterprise License on Veeam server and actually I manually installed Veeam agent for Microsoft windows 6.1.0.349 and CBT drivers in windows 10 endpoint system. As per my understand, once installed CBT drivers, if any file level changes then incremental backup will perform. But it is not happened. So what is the use of CBT and how to work ?
Veeam Backup & Replication 12, I have already installed the Server, and I have one old Filesystem and one new Filesystem,I can add the old one to protection group, but the new one Failed. The network environment is same for both FS.And there seem like no problem when I Ping them. What can I do next to find out the problem?
Hopefully someone with experience can help me with this. I'm struggling to understand the SOBR in combination with GFS, and if what i want is possible within Veeam. What i would like is the following:Backup job to local storage attached to backup server. Copy result to tapeThis i can manage. Now...Copy result to SOBR containing: Performance tier: local repo immutable, store recent 4 weeks Capacity tier: Azure S3 hot immutable, store recent 4 weeks (copy instant checkmark) Archive tier: Backblaze S3 immutable, store month and year backupsI'm trying to save cost here, so what i don't want is for Veeam to send the files from Azure S3 to Backblaze S3, since this will result in read and egress costs. What happens on the last week of the month? Will Veeam SOBR copy from performance tier (thus local to Backblaze (ingress)), or will it copy from capacity tier?Or should i use plain copy jobs with GFS?
Current setup.I have a regular Veeam backup job. It backs up my VMs, keeping 15 copies.I have a backup copy job, that copies the backups created above to the performance tier of my SOBR. This job has set as the retention policy: 2 restore points. It also keeps 13 weekly, 13 monthly and 5 yearly backups. The option ’Read the entire restore point from source backup instead of synthesizing it from increments ’ is setIn my SOBR, I have the option set: to Copy backups to object storage as soon as they are created. Move the backups to object storage as soon as they age out of the operational restore window: Move backups older than 1 days. What this results in is:15 backups in the backup repository from the regular backup job. Up to 7 daily backups in the SOBR performance tier AND in the capacity tier. They get deleted as per Veeams retention-logic. But always a minimum of 2. Weekly/Monthly/Yearly backups in the capacity tier Now to my question:The regular backup keeps 15 daily, the backup cop
