Hi since upgrading my PVe to version 9.1 and the VBR to 13, the backup performance have degraded a lot. We have 1 worker per pve host, storage is Ceph. Did someone encounter this issue?

Hi,I am going over DR scenarios and have a query on improving our procedure.We have two sitesPrimary site Hosts all production servers (5x physical & 30ish virtual) Hosts the VSA virtual server Primary & immutable storage repositories Secondary DR Site Off-site storage repository 2x spare physical servers for use in DR scenarioBoth sites connected via VPN. Everything on Hyper-V Now my query - lets say the primary site is destroyed. We want to restore everything to the secondary site.First step I can’t login to Veeam console because it was hosted in the primary site. Therefore current procedure is to setup a new instance of VSA and import a backup of the config. Not a difficult task but it takes time which I’d rather not have to spend during an emergency scenario.Is there a better way? Does it make sense to replicate our VSA virtual machine to the secondary site? Maybe high availability? Or should we be hosting the VSA virtual machine at the secondary DR site with a proxy server

Are there anything besides the tape that need to be preserved before removing the old tape library? If the tapes are added to the tape library they will automatically appear in the media.Last step will be to create a Tape job

Currently you can only restrict the Server-Scope for File-Restore not for the whole application. So whenever you want to give an user any role more privledged than “Restore-Operator”, you cannot fully restrict the scope of servers he see in the Jobs or Server Tab...

After upgrading to Veeam 13 on Windows, I am unable to login with UI console. Access throw WEB conole works.

Is Surebackups Virtual Lab on the to do list to work with Proxmox?

Hi teamI am tasked with implementing new repositories and I have to move backups and backup copy created by AHV. It seems that moving AHV backups is not supported with VEEAM move feature.I wonder what the best options are here and what I need to be aware off?The existing repo are configured to not use per machine-machine backup files.The old repos will be decommissioned once all data has been migratedMuch appreciated

One of my VM is showing  FIB summary.txt issue in backup copy job. I would like to run Active full backup on only this problem VM . But this backup copy job has 20 VMs which i don’t want to run full backup as it will cause issue in wasabi bucket. Copy job goes to wasabi bucket. I know individual full backup can initiated in Backup job, but it is not showing BCJ . Please advise.Ver 12.1.2

Need to pull a report of protected servers along with job names for which the application aware processing is enabled  We have Veeam one / can use script option , backup version 13  

USB drive used as copy job repo is having input / output error, cannot open the drive in the server

HelloI am experiencing a behavior that seems unusual compared to my previous experiences. I have three Tape pools with different retention policies. When I try to move a tape from one of these pools to the 'Free' pool, I receive a notification stating that moving the tape will cause it to be formatted.Is this normal behavior? Additionally, how can I remove a tape from a pool without it being formatted?

Hi, can someone tell me how to troubleshoot this? I installed Veeam on Windows 11 Home and defined its configuration, then resolved issues it reported. When I ran the backup job it reported success but no backups were created. I followed the quick start guide for a simple setup using my Dell for all components and tried backing up my C:\ drive to another drive where I would copy backup files to an ssd to keep offline.

Hi i have a PC that was being backed up wit veeam agent for windows free edition not managed by VBRThe PC is runing windows 10 22H2 ,After an agent update started getting the error failed to start service "VeeamEndpointBackupSvc"Tried repairing the agent , i tried removing it and reinstalling it still getting the same error .It seems something with the agent setting is wrong and removing the agent doesn't really clean all the data from the PC , tried even installing older version still the same.Also i am not seeing that service registered in services Any ideas how to purge the data ?  Or Fix this issue ?Thanks

I been trying to resote a vmware backup to a proxmox server but I can see the server and I can choose the datastore in the proxmox server but it always fails with “ Failed to prepare disk” It doesn’t matter what type of file type I choose. Has anyone been able to get passed this?

I am upgrading my Home Lab to new hardware.  Re: I can’t get the register email for mike.mckenney@scsiraidguru.comVeeam Server:  I upgraded the Veeam Server to Windows 10 22H2 from Windows 7.  I can’t install Windows 11 on this box.  I had to remove one of my three tape drives (SCSI) to go to 10.  I have two SAS tape drives.  Veeam is on 11A.   Veeam is working on all boxes except my HP Z480 below.HP Z840 Workstation:  I installed Windows 2022 Standard Server with Hyper-V.  It is in my workgroup, workgroup.  It is in the same network and subnet as my Veeam Server, Windows 11 workstaion and all VMs.  Windows Firewall is turned off.  It was on Windows 10.   Hyper-V is working.  I have 6 Minecraft Servers for our children and family to play on.   They are 8 and 10.   All Ubuntu 24.04 VMs.   Java, Bedrock and Folia.  They love to play with mods and plugins.   I can’t get to the Community Downloads for v12GA and latest v12.   I never get to email from Veeam to register mike.mckenney@scsirai

My home lab: Veeam 11 server is on Windows 10.  I have 6 Ubuntu VMs on my HP Z840 workstation with Windows 2022 Standard Hyper-V.    How do I backup each VM separate so I can recover them.   Both are in a workgroup.    Veeam won’t recognize the 2022 Standard as a Hyper-V server.   Veeam 11 can see it as a 2022 Standard Server.   Do I need to install a Hyper-V agent or Windows Server agent on this box?     

Looking for in-person Veeam VBR or Veeam ONE training in Canada. I know there are plenty of virtual options, but I’m a bit 'old school' and prefer a traditional classroom setting. Is it still possible to attend these courses in person in Canada or the US?Thanks for your tips!!
