Dears,We’re facing an issue since yesterday that we have a VM on vCenter that we’re trying to take a backup from it using Veeam BR, The VM has 3 disks and dependent as shown in the vCenter VM Settings. The issue now that we’re facing is that 2 disks of the 3 is backed up successfully and third one is stuck at 0 B   

I was trying to restore an on-premise VM into Azure, which I had done many times before, and I got this error:"Failed to process request: (Unauthorized). AADSTS7000215: Invalid client secret provided. Ensure the secret being sent in the request is the client secret value, not the client secret ID, for a secret added to app ..." I thought there was something wrong with our Veeam Azure appliance, so inside of Veeam I tried to Edit the appliance or Rescan the appliance, and I kept getting a “Value cannot be null” error.I opened a ticket with Veeam support and here is what I learned:The Veeam Azure appliance has nothing to do with a restore from on-prem to Azure.  That is used for running Azure backups and for performing a backup copy from Azure to on-prem. Hello,I have updated some of the V12 VBR servers with the patch from Tuesday.The server is running and backups are possible.But I see on all servers a warning for a system process ( Veeam Console → History Tab → System).Are you seeing this warning/error, too? Edit:Seems to be a timing issue with both V11 and V12.The next planned execution of the Catalog Cleanup on day later runs successfully.So, It’s a “cosmetic” issue.

I added a 10 Gbe NIC to my server hosting my SMB repository. That new NIC has a different IP address. I have a bunch of machines that backup via Windows and Linux agents and I don’t have the option to edit them from the Veeam Backup & Replication console (the Edit menu item is grayed out). Most of these machines are currently offline/not accessible. I’d like to avoid remoting into or physically going to each of these machines (so many) - how can I change the IP address of this SMB repository within VB&R console so the machines will pick up the revised repository when they come back online to perform a backup?

After patching our VBR v11 to the latest 2023 patch due to the latest CVE reported, I’m asked to "Select Servers to update….”.Some of those servers in the list are production. Does this process require a reboot on those servers?Can I wait for a bit (days until a team decides when to reboot the aforementioned servers) and hope that no backups will be impacted if I don’t update right now? RegardsO

Hey guys,So I created two VMs in my AWS console and I installed VBR in 1 VM and planning backup the other VM. Both VMs are in the same region and also have the same gateway but unable to ping the IPs of both the VMs. Can anyone suggest what should be changed here?

Hi, I have VBR11. Have added Debian vm to Physical Infrastructure. Agent and other linux components were installed successfully. Added account with sudo privilege. When I try to create backup of Entire Machine/Volume or even File Based I get error : Error: Failed to execute agent management command startBackup. table JobSessions has no column named end_time Unable to run query. which leads me to nothing. What seems to be a problem?

Just a quick tip regarding the database used for Veeam Backup & Replication and Enterprise Manager. You need to keep both on the same database engine, so either on Microsoft SQL or PostgreSQL. If you mix both database types, you will be presented with a warning when you try to add a VBR server to EM:If you’re planing to migrate from Microsoft SQL to PostgreSQL, then keep in mind to also migrate the Enterprise Manager database.You can also run into this problem when setting up a new Enterprise Manager as it will by default install and use PostgreSQL. In that case either select a different database during the setup or alter the database connection with the “Configuration Database Connection Settings” utility. I haven’t read about this requirement so far, but the helpcenter mentions it:Note that config

I’m a bit confused as to where the line is drawn between VEEAM and S3 compatible cloud storage providers and their data protection settings. Does VEEAM do the settings for data retention and immutability, or should those be set in the cloud storage provider bucket? Or is it a mash up of both?AKA; I can set Immutability in WASABI at the bucket. If I do not set the bucket immutability there, will VEEAM set it for me if it is configured for immutability or retention?I’m trying to figure out who controls the data lifecycle / protection. Sorry to bother the community again… but today i started to do restore-tests from successfull backups and ran into JetError -582. I cant find anything about this error.What I did:I tried to restore a single item from our scheduled exchange server backup. Everything worked until the database should have been opened. The backup I tried to restore from was the most recent and finished without warnings or errors.  It was an incremental backup. 3 hours before the faulty backup I did a manual incremental backup too (just for testing). Restoring items from this backup was successfull.Is there a possibility to repair the faulty backup / database / missing logfiles?Will all further incremental backups be faulty?Will a full backup solve this problem?Thankes a lot in advance :) 

not sure what the issue is but im using local admin credentials to add these new proxy servers into my backup infra. subsequently when creating new jobs these proxies are not showing up as availble for usage. any ideas?

Now that 12 is out and we can officially get our hands on gMSA it seems the documentation is a bit lacking. My migration to V12 went smooth and EASY! Didn’t even get to finish my lunch before it had completed. I am using gMSA within my environment for other applications so I have familiarity with this functionality. I was able to link the gMSA within the Managed Credentials (like normally), however I don’t see gMSA being an option for linking to a physical agent job within V12. I just see the typical standard account settings. I made sure my physical agents are on version 6 now and also did a rescan of them, which then did another transport update. I then updated the running services to use the gMSA account on the actual veeam services, but again nothing is showing up.  Anyone have any insight to this before I open a case on this?

Hi all, As I am new to this community hub I would like to start with a discussion about the VeeamOne custom reporting. How cool would it be to collect all your favorite reports and send them in one file. Well, it’s possible but I am struggling a bit with the lay-out of the PDF, Excel file and Word file that will be generated by VeeamOne.I was hoping that it would be fixed in v12 but apparently they didn’t manage or maybe even didn’t know about it.So what is happening?By generating a report by custom report builder, the lay-out is much different then how it is supposed to be. Every grapic, every table, summary and overview will be used on one full page. We can not send this output to our clients that contains 40 pages more then nesseccary. I wonder if people are strugling with this issue and if there is a fix available.

Hi, I already create an account for my client and then they should send an email of invitation link to my client email address but my client do not received the invitation link. The next step is create password for the account but I cannot proceed to the next step because my client do not received the invitation link email.I tried to re-register using the same email address but it said the email already been used. There is an option to restore access to your account, I click the option and it asked an email address. I put my client email address, but it said “Failed to send”. Is there anything I can do to login to my client account?

For the second time in two days backup is stuck at 90 or 91 percent. Software is running, but the backup job is stuck in concrete. I restarted veeam, I restarted veeam services and backup server, nothing helped, its stuck. I have two servers to backup. yesterday backup was stuck in win2012r2 exchange server backup; today its the win2016 fileserver. today veeam backuped the data disk successfully, but the system disk not. the exchange server is on the system disk. maybe that info helps. it seems to be a problem with backuping windows (and not data).Case-Nr.05908107

Hello all,This is a weird situation. A couple months ago, we had a production system issue and we used Veeam’s instant recovery to bring a database server back online. Being a small IT shop, once the server was up and available we transitioned to user support and long story short, we never finalized the restore and moved to production. Fast forward a couple of months and we were hit by a ransomware attack and all of our VM files (.vmdk, .vmx etc) have been encrypted. We were able to find a snapshot of our storage that seems to be intact from a few days before the attack, but the actual files in that snapshot for this particular server do not boot, which is what it did to trigger the instant recovery months ago.My question is, where would this VM have been running? Is there a hope of it also being on the snapshot somewhere? We do not have a well-versed Veeam person on staff, our entire IT department has been here a maximum of 4 years and none of us were involved in the
