Hi everyone, i’ve been having this problem for a while now…Email notifications after backup completion are not being sent anymore to the specified email address, but when i test the credentials the email arrives successfully to my email account. I’m using the Veeam Agent 5.0 on a windows server 2012 r2. No veeam B&R is implied, just the agent making backups to a local disk.Additional informations:i recently changed the email server for the email account, before changing it everything was fine and the backup emails arrived, so at a first glance it seemed a problem with the email server; but i made a clean installation of veeam agent 5.0 on another server, using the same credentials, and the emails for the backup job are arriving regularly; so this excludes the fact that it may be a problem of the new email server(and also the fact that the email tests arrive without any problem).So i thought this may be a problem related to some veeam files regarding the old installation, so here’s

Hello Techies,We use Veeam Backup as our backup solution, and I am planning to configure Veeam as follows to make sure that our data are safe during a primary site unrecoverable disaster.Regularly backup configuration and keep it external storage source ( One Drive, external HDD ..etc )  At the end of each backup, I will configure a copy job to secondary storage  The secondary storage will be mapped from the DR site using the site-to-site link.So, after each job, a copy will be placed into secondary storage and the secondary store will be on the DR site. In the event of primary site unrecoverable disaster, I will perform as follows 1- Install fresh Veeam software 2- Restore configuration3- Map secondary storage backup LUN / Volume 4- Restore from secondary storage Am I missing something? any suggestion? 

While  creating backups in a Hyper-V environment, you need several permissions to be able to properly snapshot and process a VM. What are the  permissions are not necessary for on-host backups, if used?Full Access permission on the targetfolder and share access given. 

Hi guys One of our customer hosts VBO on a Azure VM with managed disk as backup repository. Not the best practice and most cost efficient, but customer started with VBO v2 :)To the problem: Customer tries to restore a sharepoint site of 50GB with many files. The restore performance is quite bad around 3MB/s with bottleneck shown as source.Are we hitting against Microsoft limitation? CPU and disk on VBO VM is low during the hole restore time. Also tried with SSD as managed disk without any effect. SincerelyDaniel 

hi team can any you explain me where the veeam Credentials is store? if it's store in the sql database is the Credentials is encrypted? is it possible to recover Credentials from sql database? 

as v9 only ntfs is supoorting bitlooker? any update in V11 or not.

Production Environment is a four Node VXRail VSAN Cluster. Backup Server is separated on a Physical Machine with local Storage and Backup Jobs are running fine.Want to use SureBackup to proof that my Virtual Machines are could be recovered after been backed up.  Setup everything what is needed for SureBackup but the Job went wrong.At the End i figured out that something goes wrong on the vPower NFS which uses Port 1063 and Port 2049. But even i change the Port 1063 to 1058 there is no success.Have someone a clue what ports are needed for VXRail to work? 

Additionally, for users with tape installations (for file to tape jobs processing more than 1,000,000 files):1.5 GB RAM for file to tape backup for each 1,000,000 files 2.6 GB RAM for file restore for each 1,000,000 files 1.3 GB RAM for catalog jobs for each 1,000,000 files Please anyone expation what its means?

I used Lenovo HX5520 hyperconverged, installed esXI7 version of Nutanix, backed up virtual machines with VEeam's CDP function, and created a job that was always in initial sync, not syncing.Failover operations are also displayed in gray.I waited a long time, but it was the same

As title says, Veeam's new policies change the license per socket to more advanced type of licensing.Will the “community version” be affected / discontinued?Thanks to all :)

Hello,I want to try Orchestrator v4 but having trouble about "Recovery Locations". I can able to select "target storage systems" and "target datacenter" but when ı came to "target compute resources" could not see anything to select.Env; vcenter 7 u3 and Netapp ontap 9.7.Ps; ı was able to see hosts from one collect with vm's. Also can not see "compute resources" when ı select "restore" options.Any idea why compute resources not showing ?Thanks in advance,

My company leases a dedicated Windows 2019 server on the Ionos cloud platform. I would like to implement a disaster recovery solution using the Veeam community version. My aim is to be able to restore a bare metal backup to a new Ionos Windows server.  I have installed Veeam v11 and successfully created a backup repository and have done my first bare metal backup. My question is: can I create a bootable recovery media that doesn’t require a USB drive, and then use that media on a new Windows Server in the cloud? Is there documentation on how to do this?

Hey guys, I have a question.What kind of backup does veeam create, transactionally consistent or crash consistent backup? what is the difference between them? 

Ive been playing around with Veeam the last day or so and not having much luck.  we have 2 servers running 2016 with RDX backup drives. I have installed community addition on one im using as a test server, the other one is in production running AD, DHCP, DNS etc.  We also have a small NAs we can locate in a seperate building to give us ofsite backups/copies.So far non of the backups have worked, seems to fail on a rescan needed.Maybe I should be using agents and not community ?  Just about all the help/instructions go into VM and more complex stuff than we need. I have only ever had to recover files twice and server once in the 15 years Ive been supporting them but its enough to know that next time I want it to be a lot easier and have backups configured so we have fairly up to date data.  Weekly would do at a pinch.  So yes critical that we have it but no ones going to lose much and its a balance with costs of loss and cost of implementattion.  Sorry for going on.Any suggestions as to

We have VBR BAAS, provisioned in VM, initially we sized  it with the server inventory provided. How can I know or what will be the basis if I need to add addtional cpu or ram in the veeam backup server?for example: addtional 10vms added in the job will add 2 cpu and 2gb ram?

Hey guys,I just wanna understand the difference between recovery and recovery verification.Recovery verification is testing VM Backups for malware scan and if nothing found we proceed for restore. While performing recovery, there is an option to perform malware scan.The question here is for recovery if the customer chooses to perform malware scan then what is the difference between recovery & recovery verification? Can anyone tell me or am I wrong somewhere?

Hi,I am useing PowerShell doing VM Restores. It works pretty well. The only thing, that is not working for me, is to place the Target Network. I am restoreing VMs in an different target. If I understand the documentation correct, I need to Get the ViServerNetwork Info from my host. So I put this information in a varible like this:$target = Get-VBRViServerNetworkInfo -Server "srv01.veeam.local" | Where-Object { $_.NetworkName -eq "NW01" }But putting this varible to the Start command, the restore process will fail because auf the -TargetNetwork. Hello to all,On my Veeam Cloud Connect server I have a SOBR with 2 extents and S3 storage from Wasabi.1 of the 2 extens was recently added but no offload to the S3 was happening.I probably shouldn't have, but I removed the S3 from the sobr then put it back.I ran a rescan and since then I have the "Configuration Database Resynchronize" job running for almost 63 hours ....There are 15TB of backups on the S3 storage.Is it normal that it takes so long? What can I do?Thanks

Hi,  We are using Veeam to back up our on Prem HyperV VMs with no problem.  This is working like a dream.  What we urgently need to do is restore a VM to AWS EC2 that we can RDP onto.Ive tried this but when I start the EC2 instance RDP just doesnt work…. Some backgroundWe have an on-prem domain mydomain.local with two physical host servers that contain around 9 VMsThis onprem set up is also covered by Forticlient VPNIn AWS we have a VPC (for example myVPC) with a public and private subnets.  Im able to spin up new EC2 instances into both subnets and connect them to our domain and login with a mydmomain\User for example with no problem.  The issue is when restoring a VM to EC2 via Veeam to our public subnet - there is no way I can RDP to it.  Ive checked that the security group has RDP 3389 listening but no joy.  I cant imagine that Im the only person who has tried to do this????  Does anyone have any advice or walkthrough on this?  As it’s really giving me a massive headache! Many than

hi all,anybody know is it possible converted physical server to virtual VM using Veeam just like veritas backup exce. I am going to physical to virtual migration using vmware conversion tool. But when I converted my Linux server it showing booting error. if you have any other good solutions please suggest.  Thanks in advanced 

We have been using VCC for two years. We keep a couple of months on performance storage and use GFS to move data to the archive storage.  The provider uses Wasabi for archive storage (news to us). We have never had the need to restore from archive until this week. After trying for two days the provider (a Veeam Platinum provider) has told us they must move the entire archive (app 160 TB , copy jobs from ten office locations) to their local repo, have us restore, and then move it back. Honestly the process is very concerning and we were never told of this.My question is has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? Is the move of data down and back up to archive reliable (since we can’t test restores once its back there)?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I am very concerned about the integrity of our firms cloud backups.Also has anyone moved providers? Is there a migration process or similar? Charlie

Hi, team I have a weird one for you. Have you ever seen a copyjob fail due to a normal backup running at the same time? I have been running into an issue where a copyjob is running and then a scheduled backup starts while the copyjob is running. When this happens, the copyjob will fail and throw the error: ”Source restore point is locked by another job ” My understanding is that this should not happen. I did notice that the last time it happened, there was an incremental to full backup file merge happening. I am not sure if that may be the cause in this case, but I do not believe that is always what’s happening when I see this error. The copyjob is set to Immediate with a 24x7 schedule. This server is running VBR v.11
