I have installed Veeam B&R Community Edition. I have to take backup from x.x.x.6 to x.x.x.10
I have successfully created Backup Repository for x.x.x.10
Now I am creating Protection Group where in I am adding x.x.x.10 from where I have take backup. As soon as I Test the credentials (Either Local Host / Domain ) in both cases I am receiving the below error. I tried to OFF the Windows Defender but then also no success. Kindly advise

According to your screenshot, you seem to be using a wrong username format.
\\172.16.1.6\Administrator
...is not going to work.
You should use a format of either DOMAIN\USERNAME or COMPUTERNAME\USERNAME. If COMPUTERNAME is unknown (it’s not shown in your screenshot), you could also try USERNAME only, without using any additonal information or characters.

Yes, the two backslashes at the beginning should be the problem.
The IP address or the computername can be used for a local account….
I had just pasted the example.
I have tried with both
DOMAIN\USERNAME or COMPUTERNAME\USERNAME
but helpless

You are using the build-in Administrator account.
If I remember correct, then you have to disable UAC.
Either disable it or try another local admin account.

You’re getting an error that the RPC connection failed, check the Veeam logs, but this could be firewall related on the endpoint you’re trying to deploy to. You mentioned you switched off Windows defender but is that the AV or the firewall element you disabled?

And yes, this was the LocalAccountTokenPolicyFilter Key. I have written a post about his myself….
