Correct :)
It‘s called Veeam Agent since 2017.
Great. Are there any Veeam customer use cases for agent backup ?

Many, Veeam Agents are the way to protect physical workloads across Windows/Mac/Linux/AIX/Oracle Solaris. They also support virtual/cloud if you need particular features not available from a VM processing perspective.
If you have RDMs or snapshot/checkpoint independent disks, you need to process within the VM.
Agent provides better support for processing clusters such as WSFC. Veeam Agent for Linux supports MySQL & PostgreSQL natively VS via scripts in VBR.
Then of course you can integrate into VBR anyway for centralised job management.
Question is, is there anything you’re trying to achieve that you think Agents may help with? Or just looking to find out more?

Handy for backing up physical workstations at a remote site

Use it on my work laptop to back up daily. Great tool for sure when you cannot use VBR.
