 Hello.Tell me, is veeam backup version 11 installed, ASP NET and NETCore version 3 installed, how can I update the NET versions, does veeam backup 11 support newer NET versions.

I have one Windows physical endpoint which has the Veeam agent installed, and a backup is taken to the BackipRepository1 every few hours. I also need to take a backup of that machine once a week (midnight on Saturday) and retain 52 copies, but those backups need to go to BackupRepository2.I have tried to create the second job but get the following message.Skipping WINWORK0256548; workstation is already assigned to the backup policy Workstation1 Nothing to process. Failed to apply backup job configuration at date and timeIs there a way for me to have two different backup jobs for a single endpoint like this, please?

ciao a tutti, stamattina mi sono imbattuto in questo post su linkedinAl di là di come sia andata a finire, a me ha sempre spaventato il rischio di sbagliare qualcosa nel programmare i backup che vanno su un cloud dove si pagano (anche) le operazioni e far arrivare un conto salatissimo. E per questo suggerisco sempre di usare servizi che si pagano “flat” in base allo spazio.Qualcuno ha avuto “brutte esperienze” in merito? Cosa ne pensate?  

Missing application permissions: Exchange.ManageAsApp. Public folder and discovery search mailboxes will be skipped from processing, and a shared mailbox type will not be identified.I have a fully licensed version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 (not the community edition) which I recently upgradded to version 8.1.  Since then I’m getting this message.  I tried to put in a support ticket but that doesn’t work so I thought I’d try here.I have already followed the instructions on https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo365/guide/ad_app_permissions_sd.html?ver=80 where I assigned Global Reader to the Veeam App ID but I still get the error message.Useful suggestions gratefully received.

I am trying this one more time and have had this work in the past but just wasted hours on a restore that would not boot. I have a replacement laptop a little newer and I installed veeam on the new laptop and created the usb drive. I then booted the usb and went into bare metal selected, connected to my veeam backup and recovery and selected the restore point, removed the partitions and did the restore. The restore said it completed successfully but would not boot even with secure boot off. Tried start up repair and unable to repair. I selected command prompt and I could see all of the files were there and tried some bcdrec stuff but nothing worked. I can restore a clean image and then restore my files that way but the bare metal recovery is supposed to work and obviously it is not in my case. Currently running endpoint backup version 6.2. Trying again but pretty sure it will give me the same result.

I am confused (not an unusual occurrence). I had to do a restore of a VM to a different backup repository from tape, so I could search for some files for a user. Now, I don’t need that restored image. (this repository is a Windows disk drive, and the restored image is 4TB in size). So I’d like that 4TB disk space back, please. :-)Is there a special procedure for cleaning that off the repository? Or do I just delete it from Windows, like any other set of files?  

Hello everybody!I would like to test performance on Linux repositories.The idea is to test read/write performance on disk, IOPS or something like that. I found the KB2014, but I would like to know if some of you have already do this before or if you have some tip or indication for this.  

Hi,We currently do a full backup weekly that is then updated with incramental backups daily that are retained for 7 days.I am concerned about malware going undetected (we have AV, I’m just paranoid). Is a 7 day retention policy for restore points good or should I expand this? What archival rules would help would be recommended?Many thanks in advance,Tobi

Hello community,i have a customer doing NAS Backups from NetApp Shares to a hardened disk repository and then writing those NAS Backups to Tape.We are using a PostGres DB as the Configuration Database. Its running on a NVMe Device. We found out that the DB is growing continously over the last 4 month. Starting around 40GB it reached around 650 GB in size until now.Opening the VEEAM Console to access the VEEAM Management server takes very long and other processes also affected. We did some root cause analysis and found out that the hardware of the server is not overprovisioned or constrained.Are there any options to do a maintenance on the DB and/or restrict the DB in growing continously ? Or maybe doing some other tasks to adress those issues ? 

Good morning,Looking for advice on managing storage within an integrated vCenter/Veeam configuration where my backups at backing onto an external storage device. I’m not going to lie I am still timid working in these environments because I have never been to play around in a non production environment so I think it best to get some advice form those of you who are well versed in these products. So the situation is over the years we have created various jobs when issues occurred during backups and now I am wanting to understand the proper way to delete old backups in order to give the NAS some breathing room.  I didn't want to just login to the NAS and literally delete files as I’m pretty certain the VMWare/Veeam setup is aware of all files and folders and don’t want to break the linking.What is the proper way to clean up old backups and have the system correctly identify space and removed items etc. Thank you.

Dear Veeam team, Does anyone have information about an upcoming roadmap regarding Copilot and / or ChatGPT content backup? I have a first customer who is interested in such a solution. To go into detail: The customer wants to backup both “outputs” and “inputs” from and to both tools.The entered command / prompt / question as well as the AI output is to be backed up to provide easy retention and restore management. Can someone provide information? We are attempting to script a way to remove offline Tape backups from Veeam so that they can be reused without error. Can someone please help us with the correct cmdlet and syntax to search for all offline tapes and remove them from catalog? I have attached the script we are working with. Hi zusammen, ich nutze Veeam privat in meinem HomeLab. Nun ist die NFR Lizenz abgelaufen. Ich habe die Sales Kontaktiert ob mir dieser verlängert werden kann habe aber nach mehr als 14 Tagen nichts dazu gehört. Wir haben mehre Veeam Lizenz bei uns in der Firma im Einsatz und ich finde es schade das hier nur für ein Jahr so ein Paket angeboten wird.Wisst ihr noch eine Möglichkeit an eine NFR Lizenz zu kommen? 

Hello, We have Veeam O365 5b (5.0.1.225). By mistake we enabled the backup job for the entire organization, so that means it includes Sharepoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc. and now our Repository disk is full.We need to do a clean-up of the repository disk, in order to leave just emails (users, groups, shared mailboxes, archives, etc.) and delete all data of Sharepoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc. Finally create a job only for emails (users, groups, shared mailboxes, archives, etc.)How can I  do that?Thanks for your help, Omar De Souza.

I have a tape library with 48 slots. The file to tape jobs all run smoothly as long as the tapes that are summarized in the media pool and linked to the file to tape jobs are in the slots of the tape library _before starting_ the job.That worked fine as long as I left all the tapes for the respective job in the tape library, even if the job was finished or I had switched off the tape library.The reason at the time was that I didn't really have an external storage option for all 127 LTO tapes. So up until then I always left at least the 24 tapes for the 3rd offline repository in the library, as shown in the example.But since that is anything but right for fire safety reasons, I only noticed it now, after I no longer leave any tapes in the library except for the cleaning tape.Now I have the following banal problem:as you can see in the screenshots, the job starts. Hi zusammen,Ich habe ein RDX Laufwerk auf das ich regelmäßig Backups mit Veeam Backup & Replikation erstelle.Das RDX “Tape” wird jeden Monat getauscht.Angenommen es wird mal das RDX “Band” entfernt und ein neues “Band” eingelegt und es existiert auf dem neuen Band kein Full Backup.Erkennt Veeam das und erstellt von sich aus ein Full Backup?Viele Grüße und danke für eine Antwort

We use Veeam 12.2.0.334My Veeam is configured on such a way that a SNMP-trap is send as soon as a backup job run is finished. That works correct.Is it possible to configure Veeam on such a way that a SNMP-trap is send when a backup job run starts?
