Simple one this, where is the feature comparison showing VDP ESSENTIALS, against the foundation, advanced, and premium? What features am I getting in essentials vs those enterprise grade versions basically? It matters because I’m watching the whats new webinar and there is a feature comparison going on but no mention of essentials? Thanks in advance!

Hello,I will implement Veeam Data Cloud for back up our M365 services such as exchange, onedrive, sharepoint and ms.team and the daily operational will be handled by our backup administrator.I have concern when we backup exchange mailbox, the backup administrator can ‘peek’ all the contents of the mailbox for all users.So can we have separate administrator for daily backup and prevent this user to ‘peek the inbox and in same time assign special user who can restore the mailbox? It’s no problem for this special user can peek’ the mailbox, the special user maybe can our CTO.

Good day, I know this topic was mentioned, well actually a popular one to say the least. I was introduced to using the Port Finder tool in this forum, a very sweet interface, but it is a bit cumbersome to use.  I just need someone to simply provide the standard port numbers to enable in windows firewall for Veeam B&R 12. I clearly get the application group, but source and target service? please explainI just need port numbers to just enable quickly For:Backup Jobs and/or replication jobs communications between Hyper V Server comprising windows and linux vms Backup Proxy communication.That is all. I dont want to keep my windows firewall domain profile off indefinitely lol.  Does it mean that no one knows the actual port numbers directly.

hello, thanks, i am running out of space on a linux server that i use for backup copy jobs.i am not sure the ways to free space without creating a nightmare…by way of example, this is the setting for a backup copy jobwhat would happen if i changed the retention policy from 30 days to 7 days?not sure i really need 30 days, as this is in addition to the main backup policyi would assume that veeam will not delete the older .vib files from day 8 to 30, correct?so i think i need to manually prune those older .vib files?but not wanting to affect veeam ability about keeping certain full backups longer for archival purposes.please, any advise at all about that setup or if any additional information is needed?thanks, david

Hello, Trying to use Veeam to do ProxMox backups, I was able to add 1 host from the cluster, and deploy a worker to it, but when I go to add the second host, it tells me that its already added, but its not in the list and VMs from the other hosts are not showing up.I tried via IP or DNS name and results are same, it says:“Failed to register cluster. The Proxmox VE node 192.168.1.226 has already been added to the backup infrastructure”but its not there, see below (the 192.168.1.225 is the first host in cluster and there are 2 more .226, .227. What am I doing wrong here ? The documentation said to add each host individually from the cluster:  Important If you want to add a Proxmox VE cluster to the backup infrastructure, consider the following: Each node of the cluster must be added to the backup infrastructure separately. The name of the cluster must not be changed in the Proxmox VE administration portal after you add it to the backup infrastructure.

Hi, I recently upgraded to the most recent version of B&R community edition and I think as part of that process, one of my Windows PC did not failed to update its Agent properly.  Now, that Windows PC always shows up as offline and when I try to reinstall/update Agent from the console, I get “6/22/2024 5:19:43 PM Warning Failed to connect to MyPC Details: Failed to call RPC function 'PckgFind': Unknown property.” I know that PC is on and has network connection.  Is there a way for me to manually reinstall the Agent on that PC?  If so, where can I find the installation files?   Thank you!

When I manually install Windows agent, it installs with GUI, thus I’m able to perform backups from that particular PC. But I need Agent to perform backups from B&R Console installed elsewhere. When I create the backup job from the Console, it makes a rescan of the PC with Agent installed, then does some ‘MSI packet repair’. So the Agent’s GUI disappears and Agent ‘transforms’ to the version compatible with Console.My question here is how can I at once install Agent to be used with Console? Is there some key can be used with MSI packet to directly install Consol-aware version of Agent?

Are there any other advanced backup storage calculators kind of like the one Veeam has?Calculator - VM (veeam.com)I’m trying to get a good estimation of storage needs. Don’t get me wrong, you can probably never have enough storage 😂 but with that comes budget. The one from Veeam I’m using total amount of space taken by current VMs in the datacenter. It doesn’t take into account growth (additional VMs) or reduction (consolidation/removal of VMs). Our SAN is right around 90TB but remote datacenters have local stroages for VMs at about 3TB and 1.5TB respectively.  Do I size based off SAN/local array storage?

I am trying  to Do the updates on 2 diff company's that I manage, but currently have a Drive space issue on both of them. Need some guidance on how can i transfer the current installation from C drive to another drive and some assistance on how to move the current configuration from  the current server to  a brand new server thats going to do the backups.I checked some documentations but was not able to find any  good material myself.Thank you in advance

Howdy,  I am trying to crack why my application aware backups aren’t working as expected. I am trying to back up MS SQL server including transaction logs. Hi,I had some errors on a Veeam Backup and Replication 11.0.1.1261 (latest): Backup from a dedicated backup server and the target is a physical windows machine that uses Veeam Agent 5.0.1.4584 (latest) Error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond %IPADRESS%:2500Backup job is managed by Backup server.Port 2500 is opened in both directions, and  Kaspbersky Security is used and the Veeam processes are whitelisted. Have applied several fixes from the forums but the problem keeps occuring when backup is made from this specific machine only. And the first run is often faulty but when executed a second run it works without any errors. This text is from nov 1st, i have updated the software to the latest and problem still occurs. the NAS and the backup object are online all the time and on same subnet.  thanks

Hello Veeam Community, maybe someone can Help me.I have an Virtual Machine that i need to backup. Before i do that, i need to shutdown the VM,create Backup and then Run the Vm again. I thought i can do that with Powershell script, but i run in an error.Script finished execution with exit code -1.When the Job starts, i can see that the VM shut down, then Veeam take 10 minutes to try to backup and run in the error.As i understood, Veeam should  run the PS Script before the Job and when he´s done do it again. If i Run the Script in the Powershell console, then i have no problems.Did someone have an idea? Thanks and greetings

Hello Veeam Gnus ;)Got myself totally confused so can someone unpick this for me?I need to protect a single physical DC which has all FSMO roles. So guessing I don’t need a Protection group as its 1 computer. So do I just create a Veeam Agent job and add the DC ? But can I use a gMSA ? I want to use the Explorer and I am sure I read that you can’t use a gMSA with explorers ? In which case I need to create a domain account and add to BuiltIn Administrators group in AD ? (InfoSec are not going to like that !)Presume I also will not need a GiP because the Agent job will install the Agent on the DC which will remain persistent ?Have I got that all right ? We have upgraded VBR and EM to version 12.2. According to our discussion with the OS team, due to a vulnerability, they need to remove the older version 3.1.32.31915. We can only see the highlighted .NET version required for version 12.2NET Framework and ASP.NET Core Shared Framework 8.0 We observed  .NET Core runtime 3.1.32 and .NET Runtime 7.0.20 in VBR server We would like to know if we can remove .NET Core runtime 3.1.32 and .NET Runtime 7.0.20, as it is not mentioned in the articlePlease advise.

Buonasera, ho il piacere di dover configurare Veeam Recovery Orchestrator 7 per un cliente.Leggendo la documentazione nella sezione Planning and Preparation noto che non è possibile installare Orchestrator su un server che ospita già Veeam Backup & Replication (il mio caso) o Veeam ONE.Suppongo quindi che debba installare un server da zero in cui poi tramite la ISO di Veeam Data Platform Premium installerò tutti i prodotti. Successivamente poi dovrò reimportare configurazione di Backup & Replication.E’ un passaggio che posso fare a cuor leggero o devo tenere conto di qualcosa in particolare, oltre ad allocare le corrette risorse al server in modo che girino correttamente tutti i servizi? Grazie

1. I get the Error code: 0x80070005 for restore2. Whether i restore backed up database to existing database(to overwrite) or another database created, i get above error.3. After restore fail at 1st attempt, the existing database(Schooldb) was removed/gone, i had to recreate it.4. After restore fail at 2nd attempt, the second db i created to point restore to (Recoverydb) has also been delteted, no longer appears in ssms.I can still do backups via veeam sql plugin. The restore is just not working properyIs this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

When I went to download the updater for Veeam I get redirected to a page that ask to upgrade my profile and requires a business email which I do not have. I am running the community version.
