Buonasera,devo configurare un backup con Veeam Cloud Connect ed avrei un paio di dubbi…La dimensione totale delle macchine virtuali di cui fare il backup è di circa 7TB, considerata la velocità massima in upload della connessione internet del cliente (100Mbps) il backup completo iniziale dovrebbe durare circa una settimana. Volevo sapere se è possibile limitare la banda di trasmissione di veeam in orari di ufficio (in modo da non influire sul lavoro dell’azienda) e lasciarla illimitata la notte.Inoltre volevo sapere se veeam salta in automatico i backup successivi fino a che non sarà stato completato il primo backup completo.Grazie

Hi all,  I am trying to get support with Veeam but they are giving me the run around (we have a valid license but apparently its not assigned correctly and our account manager is away until the 18th) so I thought id ask here. But I am a bit disappointed Veeam has always been great with support and regardless always tried to help :( Veeam ticket is Case # 07501120  I am getting the following error Error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond This Repo has been working for over a month, no blip or issues. However, just today it started having an issue. The only thing that has changed is I am using a proxy now rather than the backup server direct. I rebooted the immutable repo and Veeam was happy again. Dear All,Have a nice day.  I found a different on veeam backup version on my test environment 11 vs 12.2 on file save name. In the early version it’s saved as a job name single file but now it’s saved as multiple .vm name file, no jobs name. One job is created and this job has 10 VM, there will be 10 backup files showing.  It's looking odds lot of files.I want to show it as the previous one in a single file. The malware detection consistently flags the same files with known malware extensions as suspicious. Despite marking the servers clean multiple times, the detections persist. Is this behavior intended or possibly a bug?

Hi Community, VBR server should not be part of the production domain—Unable to detect whether it should be considered important or not. How can we fix this? Is my VBR already in the production domain, or should I put it back on the workgroup?   

Hi all,A customer’s device is complete gone, but has daily full backups stored via CloudConnect in Wasabi. When we try to import the backups, it gives the message ‘No backups found’. Altough, the Cloud Connect server gives usage of the bucket and de job just ran fine. Any ideas how to import the backup in the Cloud Connect server to start the recovery ?  The import of the backup doesn’t seem to find the backup chain….

Hi, I have a question. I recently added an object storage repository (Cloudian) with an immutable retention period of 7 days. Then, I created a new backup job and pointed it to that repository, and I ran the backup. After the backup job completed, I checked the object files in Cloudian and looked at their retention period, and the result shows more than 7 days. Shouldn't it be exactly 7 days, not longer?Attached is the screenshot:Repository config for immutable days The date when the first backup started The object retention displayed in Cloudian Management The 'retain until' date should be 2024-11-14 if the retention is set to 7 days, but this is not what is happeningCan anyone explain how Veeam sets the immutable days for objects in object storage? Thanks for your answer and attention😊

How VRO works on GCP as supposed entire environment hosted on GCP.

After taking the manual snapshot on GCP it is going to another zone this behavior of Veeam or GCP as per my understanding the manual snapshot will always save the snap in a multi region location closest to the VM.

Data drive of the backup server has two folder Backup Job 7 which has backup from Oct to Nov and XX-Backup job from Jan 24’ What would be the correct process to delete the backup jobs from CZ60-Backup job from Jan 24 

We need to install the Veeam agent on 2,000 devices within the organization, but centralized file restoration to multiple devices simultaneously is required. Currently, the Veeam Backup & Replication solution does not have this functionality, and it is needed to reduce restoration times for user operations to ensure business continuity in case of ransomware or disaster.

The company I work for is looking to improve its BCDR capabilities utilising Veeam and Azure.  Currently in a DC we have VBR (physical server with local storage repo) copying to Azure blob storage and Enterprise Manager on a vm.  We are aiming to change the Veeam license to include VRO with the idea of being able to stand up VMs in Azure in the event of the DC going down.  My questions are about the placement of the various components.  Do we need a second VBR server in Azure?  Should the Enterprise manager be shifted to Azure?  Would it be best to build the VRO server in Azure?  Also where does ONE fit into this?  We are talking to an MSP about getting this set up but wanted some advice from the expert community to put my mind at ease.  Thanks!

Hi everyone,This is my situation: i configured a backup job on Veeam 12 on rdx drives; i ve got 3 drives (4TB each) and the total size of vms backup is around 1,6 TB; drives are changed daily.My goal is to make an incremental backup, veeam perform each day a full backup tough. So the third day the drives is put in the rdx reader  veeam gives me error because the storage is full.In repository settings i marked the rotated drives options. If i set the retention policy to 2 days nothing changes (because veeam policy always keep at least 3 restore points i guess).I tried also reversed incremental with no result. Is there any chance to manage an incremental backup on rotated drives in my situation?The best option would be to have in each drives a full backup + x incremental file, at worst i may configure a pre-job script to manually prune one of the two full backup on the drive. David

Both servers can resolve hostnames to IP, full communication between sites/on WAN, same domain as well.I used (Site1) primary veeam server “veeamserver1” backed up .bco file and restored it to (site 2) secondary veeam server. “veeamserver2” After restoration on veeamserver2, RED X came up on both hosts and repositories.On veeamserver 2, I did a rescan on on hosts and i got error(all hosts) for below:-Error - [Serverhost1] Disks and volumes discovery failed Error: Access is denied.  RPC function call failed. Hello,I am trying to do a bare metal recovery of a physical windows server 2019.First, I have created a recovery media from the agent backup, then mounted that .iso on the Dell Idrac9 and tried to boot form virtual CD/DVD/ISO, but it’s getting stuck at the windows logo screen.I have also tried to boot from the same iso on a VM just to test. This time, it worked, the veeam console came up and  I got all the options for restoration. But on the physical server, it’s not working.Please let me know where I am going wrong. Trying to get K10 working with linkerd service mesh in a test cluster.Prior to deploying linkerd, k10 is working ok doing csi snapshots (Rook Ceph provider) and mysql logical backups (using the kanister example) with backups going to a minio cluster living in its own namespace.I have mesh enabled on the k10, minio and vaultwarden namespaces (testing using vaultwarden as I know it quite well and it uses a database). mysql logical backup is temporarily disabled. Since a few weeks, my backup of my Windows disk (that used to work seamlessly) fails with:Error: Shared memory connection was closed. Failed to upload disk. Skipped arguments: [EmulatedDiskSpec>]; Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}. Exception from server: The size of the internal FIB block (58368) cannot be less then the default block size (1048576). Failed to download disk 'a289c469-b376-11ec-83e5-68545a920099'I could not find this particular error message online. How can I get it to work again?I use Veeam Agent for Windows 6.2.0.121.
