Following on from my previous post, I am now in a pickle because after uninstalling a failed install of VBR 12.3 and reinstalling 12.1 the system is incapable of backing up my VMs. Need to completely uninstall all 12.1 stuff and do a clean install and forget about importing the config. Stay tuned.

i did test to upgrade form 12.1 to 12.3 and was successful - this was done with PostgreSQL.

did you install database by your own or within ISO?

to have few GB free space is not recommended at all - logs from services running is needed much space - in small backup environments is enough 200GB, but big need 1TB

Again, sorry for all the troubles @BillyG43 . If you can, to mitigate all the install issues, it may be best to completely wipe your phys server then install the version of Veeam you want/need rather than go back to 12.1 There should be no reason your VMs won’t backup. Is this 1 server also your Proxy and Repo? If so, then wiping this phys server would give you a clean slate, so to speak. But, if you have separate components for your Proxy & Repo, you could run into issues there because they would have the old Veeam Installer/Transport components on them. You would need to uninstall those components on those servers before you could add them back as first, managed servers; then second, Proxy and Repo.

Best.

Further to what has been said already if the issue persists I would highly recommend contacting Support as the Community site is not technical support.  We are a community of users that try to help as best we can.

@Chris.Childerhose thanks for your advice. I was under the impression that the Community Edition was not supported by Veeam. In any case, following on from all the replies in this thread, I have since installed 12.3 on a VM and all is well (except where do I direct Backup Copies to?).

Cheers, Bill
