Currently i have 9 TB azure file share and want to make backup copy for my VBR and configure this file share as backup copy repository.

But in the backup infrastructure there are external repository and VBR can connect to the azure blob storage.

So i want to know what pro and cons using azure blob vs azure file share? Which one is more recommended?

Hi @hs08 ,

from my understanding you can't use azure File Share as repository for your on prem VBR environment,

Only Azure Blob ist supported as Cloud repository.

With veeam for Azure you could Backup your Azure Filleshares to Azure Blob but this ist the only way how to interact with this Service as fas as I know.

But using Azure Blob would be the better move because there you can store your Data and make it immutable. That would give you a extra layer of Security for your Backups.

This is the answer. There are ways of using azure file shares for backup but you absolutely don’t want to do this.
