There are numerous articles on this topic on the blog but I have decided to share the latest that was prompted by the above concern.But then, this is a new Active Directory environment. Hi Team,We are using Kasten (6.5.5) and wanted to test its DR feature to backup & restore our stateful workloads between two clusters, to ensure we’re well prepared for infrastructure failures. vCenter shows disk consolidation requested by Veeam but also displays percentage of completion. What's a good plan to be able to restart the Windows DB VM? See screenshots below.From what I know, it is not a good idea to reboot while consolidation is going on. However, this has been going on for at least 2 days and the DB residing on the server is performing poorly. I have requested the DB folks to try to restart the DB instead of the server but in the event that this would be the only option that is left to do, what is a good way to go about doing a VM reboot. I have disabled the job in Veeam and has cancelled another Veeam request to vCenter to run another consolidation (thoe one showing 0%).

A customer uses the copy function for capacity tier to instantly copy on-premises Veeam backups (retention of 30 days) to object storage. They’ve configured object lock on the object storage (60 days) that has a duration longer than the local backup policy. As Veeam cannot delete a backup in object storage at 30 days, will it delete it after the object lock expires (60 days) or does the customer need to manually delete the files on object storage?My thoughts are Veeam will clean up those files once the the 60 day lock has expired, but got me scratching my head for sure

I’ve installed and configured the Veeam MS SQL agent on a MS SQL Server 2022 instance. During the DB backup setup, I can’t select object based repository or my SOBR. What is the best way to transition MS SQL backups to S3? Replication jobs only allow VMs. The Backup Copy and Copy Job only show local repositories.

I’m currently working through the following2x AceMagic AM06Pro (https://www.amazon.com/Computers-Windows-Display-Desktop-Bluetooth/dp/B0BQHBWPYX) upgraded to 64 GB ram and 3 TB of internal disks each for ESXi hosts 1x AceMagic T8 Plus (https://www.amazon.com/ACEMAGIC-Computer-3-Screen-Bluetooth-Computers/dp/B0CQJQPZJX) as a Proxmox host (hopefully) 1 QNAP TS332x for basic iSCSI and object storage 1 Synology 923+ that I’m hoping to do some Veeam related goodness on. Cloud based object storage from 11:11 Systems as well as some vCD compute for VCC In addition I have some resources in AWS that I’ll leverage to do testing and learning with. With the recent announcement that Hyper-V is strategic to Microsoft, as the main focus of Server 2025 you can imagine I've spent more time on the topic than usual lately. I normally don’t post on here, but I figured I'd share. To get the basic stuff out of the way, yes you can Instantly Recovery ‘any’ workload to Hyper-V, and it can be automated with PowerShell - it will probably make it easier at scale. And for those new to Hyper-V with Veeam, on-host backup processing is the way to go. Buongiorno, ho cercato nel gruppo ma non ho trovato al risposta.Vado ad esporre il mio problema.Ho alcuni Job di Backup di VM di vSphere a cui ho impostato una certa “Retention Policy” in giorni, prendendone uno, per esempio “25 days” con impostato un “Remove deleted items data after” in 7 days … però se vado nel repository vedo che i file che hanno più di 32 gg non vengono cancellati! Ora il quesito è:- c’è un comando/procedura per forza la cancellazione dei file che eccedono la policy??? Grazie.

What happened?A malicious actor, known as STORM-0558 managed to get a hold of a Microsoft Services Account (MSA) cryptographic key. This was then used by the malicious actor to compromise Microsoft Exchange Online mailboxes by using authentication tokens.This allowed the threat actor to access mailboxes of high-profile individuals without any indication they were breached. Microsoft was not aware they had lost control of this key until they were notified by one of the affected organisations, the US State Department, which had 60000 emails exfiltrated. Hot off the presses! Today, we’re announcing the general availability of the newest entry to our long list of supported hypervisors, with the addition of Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager. As some of you may be aware, Veeam Backup & Replication has been supporting Red Hat Virtualization for several years now, which runs oVirt and KVM under the hood. Although Red Hat has stopped development on RHV in favor of OpenShift, Veeam Backup & Replication will continue supporting RHV as a source until December 2026.But let’s focus on what’s new: Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager support as a source. The process to get up and running is straightforward: just download the oVirt KVM plug-in and install it on your VBR server.
