UNIX on the test!

Yes! It comes up a lot on the test (my experience and that of a colleague) I had the opportunity to work with both platforms for a long time, and I'll share some things here. It's an extremely noble workload and many mission-critical clients use it. For more than three decades, organizations have trusted IBM AIX. It's no wonder that the robustness of this technology is recognized worldwide. Veeam Proxy Servers Maxing Out RAM – How to Identify Jobs Causing Spike?

Hi everyone, I have two Veeam proxy servers that max out their RAM (20GB) once or twice a week for about an hour. I’m trying to find out which jobs are running on the proxy at the time of the spike. I know the affected VM's name but need to identify the specific job running when memory usage is high. Proxy details:VMware VM With 20GB RAM (recently added 4GB, but still seeing spike)OS WindowsMax concurrent tasks: 16 Is there a way to track this from the proxy server or within Veeam Backup & Replication? Any insights would be appreciated

Veeam Decoys Project

I’m really happy to share with the Veeam Community this Open Source Project Called Veeam Decoys. It is public knowledge that multiple threat actors use various tactics and techniques to identify services when they are already inside the internal networks of the organization they are attacking. In fact, the Mitre ATT&CK Enterprise matrix has two complete tactics, "Discovery" TA0007 and "Lateral Movement" TA0008, which list and explain multiple techniques and tools used by attackers. For example, the most sought-after services within the internal network are Remote Desktop Protocol and SSH. Veeam for Salesforce CE config PKIX error

Hi All, Doing the initial install of backup for Salesforce CE. Got to the point of connecting Veeam to SF Connected App with key/secret then: HTB8: Salesforce responded with an error: I/O error on GET request for "https://login.salesforce.com/services/oauth2/authorize": PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target; nested exception is javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target The callback URL is showing a certificate error, so I’m not sure whether: I should focus on fixing the URL certificate. I need to whitelist something on the Salesforce side. Both (or something else entirely!) Any suggestions on how to resolve this? Thanks in advance, Matt

Similar functions like RPS Dewin

In rps.dewin.me we were able to configure weekly, monthly, yearly (NON-GFS) in the regular job, select when they run and get the chain length (don’t care about the size). This helped when providing insight in a visual way of what the chains would look like depending on their configuration. Right now, it’s default of weekly fulls and the option to use GFS. If a customer has a weekly full and then monthly full but not GFS, this doesn’t help in those situations. Is there a plan to add this like it was in rps.dewin?

Agent for Windows - Win11 restore to vcenter 8

Hi, I googled a lot, but couldn't find anything suitable. I have a test VM in a VMware Workstation17. I back up this VM (Win11 with TPM) with Veeam Agent for Windows (newest version). I would now like to bring this VM to the vCenter. What is the best way to do this? Do I have to install a Native Keyprovider in vCenter first? Or can I create a new VM Win11 in vCenter without disk, then attach the vmdk disk file?Thanks for your help!GreetingsNovell2

Backup Strategy when Migrating from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization

One of our customers recently renewed **Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR)** in December, but is now evaluating a migration of their **58 VMware host** infrastructure to **OpenShift Virtualization (OCP-V)**. We know that to back up workloads on OCP-V, **Veeam requires Kasten K10**, however, **there is no direct conversion strategy** between VBR and Kasten, which poses a challenge in licensing continuity. Veeam currently suggests purchasing **Kasten as a standalone solution**, without considering the prior investment in VBR. This opens the possibility for the customer to explore other solutions such as **Trilio, Veritas, or other backup vendors** with native integration into Kubernetes environments. The key question is: **Is Veeam willing to sustain VBR without offering a transition path to Kasten, risking customer non-renewal? Or, on the contrary, should you design a strategy that allows you to ensure recurring business of between 42 and 58 nodes with Kasten?** This case highlights the i

Monitor AWS Jobs via PowerShell in Veeam Backup & Replication.

Hello, We are using Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.0.310, integrated with Veeam Backup for AWS 8.1.0.7. Our environment is monitored using Zabbix, and we have developed PowerShell scripts for this purpose. However, we are facing difficulties retrieving information about jobs running in AWS from our Veeam Backup & Replication server. While we can successfully monitor all on-premises jobs, we are unable to list the jobs running in AWS. The integration is properly configured, and we can access information about the AWS-hosted servers, but the jobs themselves are not visible. Is it possible to retrieve this information using PowerShell? Thank you!

Recently, I had an insightful discussion on cybersecurity, where we dived deep into VHR (Veeam Hardened Repository) and OOTBI (Out-of-the-Box Immutability) by ObjectFirst.
